    Pros +

    • The staff were really friendly and the location was very convenient! ¿¿
    • Great location. Walking distance from the main street and touristic sites. The place was clean and the breakfast was super!
    • The accommodation is located in the beautiful village of Rothenburg, which used to be a flour mill and has now been renovated into a guesthouse. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was plentiful, and the room was spacious with a private bathroom. It’s very close to the town center, and getting out of the village to the Double Bridge is also easy. Rothenburg is a fairytale village that left a deep impression on me.

    Cons -

    • Not really
    • There was no Wi-Fi during the whole day and night we stayed. That was an issue, as we couldn’t book our train tickets until close to the time of departure. Please note that this is a basic hostel, so be sure to bring your own shampoo and body soap as they are not provided in the en-suite rooms.
    • Cleanliness should be improved in the washroom areas. They don't have any escalator so taking the luggage and climbing stairs to the second or third floor can be very exhausting especially if you have huge baggage.

Centrally located to the city centre.Breakfast was really good and they served a wide variety of options.

I like the good variety of breakfast and it's good ? Nice ambient and comfortable to stay in.

The shower room doesn't provide body and hair shampoo. There's no hairdryer provides which make me feel inconvenient. There is only one electricity plug for the room of 9 beds. Although we are only 4 in the rooms but everyone is fighting to charge our mobile phones/tablet. No power extension given in the room.

Absolutely amazing and helpful stuff, great location.

You can't lock the doors from the inside and the room is basically open for the whole night. Everything is quite old, and it feels.

This place was historical place. It used to be the water mills. The building had water mills, really old building. I felt like I was in the castle! This hostel serve free breakfast!

It’s old building, so it was very dark on the hallway.

    Location

It’s more like a dorm not a hotel. Kind of scary when we arrived with no light

    7ElizabethPosted on: 2-24-2025

Excellent location in the old town. Two very historic buildings (one an old 1500s horse mill, the other a 17th C hospital) but renovated. Private bathrooms. Helpful staff. Good breakfast.

A youth hostel and so bunk beds which you make yourself. Poor wifi. As a family of seven we were in three rooms in two different buildings not very close to each other. More expensive than some hotels.

The staff was extremely friendly, and it was very spacious! It was a little weird to navigate at first but overall a good experience!

The floors were a little dirty, and needed to be mopped.

    9JanePosted on: 12-22-2024

Its at the quiet side of the town and within walking distance to attractions

No lift. So have to carry luggage up the stairs

    7KatePosted on: 12-17-2024

The staff were very helpful and kind, the historic setting was interesting, and the location was great for the old town. The breakfast was useful.

We were placed in a room which was not the room advertised with our booking but the hostel was quick to agree a solution. Customer service was good. We were not in the main building and had to walk down a dark and slippery path to access the room. I think guests should be notified at the time of booking. The check in time was rather late (5pm). The luggage lockers were either broken or in use. There is definitely room for improvement with the facilities and the information provided at the time of booking.

Location is really great- right in the middle of the main street. Hostel is very clean.

If you have big luggages- could be a chore to bring up long flight of stairs ...

A fantastic hostel in an historic building very close to Plönlein. The dinners there are also delicious ?

A fan or air conditioning would have been great for the summer months.

    1NoelPosted on: 7-25-2024

    Avoid at all cost.

Very dirty and noisy. Bed are just a small foam covered with plastic. Private rooms are just as bad as the hostel rooms

    3MattiasPosted on: 7-9-2024

Quality of the food was good but no hot food except from eggs.Location was good.

Be aware that the closest parking is about 200m away. Most likely will your room be in a building closeby which is not presented in the photos. Keep in mind you will have to carry bedsheats over there. Our door was broken and was not lockable from outside. Understandable that they could not fix it on a sunday. There was personal clothes from earlier guests under my bed.Strange sounds came from the attic or walls during the night. Maybe a ghost, or a cat :)

    10OlhaPosted on: 7-2-2024

Very polite and caring staff, delicious breakfast, amazing location. The hostel is located in an ancient building in the heart of the old city. Right in the yard of the hostel there is a fortress wall.

There were 3 sockets in a room for 5 people. But the staff made sure that no more than 3 people lived in the room at the same time

    10ChhangtePosted on: 6-23-2024

They were very kind and the breakfast was delicious.. they even allowed me to put my luggage there after i checked out because hotel Gasthof Zur Linde wouldn’t let me put my luggage in until 15:00.. i wish i had stay there my entire trip… thank you so much

The wifi could not reach 2nd floor so this could be a disaster for many tourists without sim card so i wish they fix this problem thats about it

1 - Thanks so much to 1 of the housekeeping lady (she have a chinese look) who are super kind, she show me how to use the key for the room. 2 - Main Building looks historic from outside but that's about it.

1 - Wifi only in main building, which is around the reception counter. No wifi at all in 2nd building for female dorm. To be honest, i did not know that dorm room is at 2nd building and not the main building where you register !!2 - No lift in 2nd building. For female dorm, you have to pass thru the long stairs so if you have heavy luggage, Good Luck ;(3 - So difficult to use the room key at first, until the housekeeping lady show me how.4 - 1 power plug for dorm room ?? OMGTo summarize, For the price i paid (43 Euro) and the facilities that they offered, totally not worth it. I'm sorry but this place needs proper renovation or improvement in order to give more comfort to people who want to stay here.

Very nice service. Sleeping place, no luxuries, therefore it was affordable. The cheapest place to stay in town.

I have nothing to cling to.
