Discriminatory Service at Hey Lou Karlsruhe Messe

I have serious concerns about the service I received at Hey Lou Hotel in Karlsruhe during checkout on August 31st at around 11:19 a.m.At checkout, I only needed to pay for my morning coffee and parking. Instead of completing this simple process, the staff member repeatedly paused my transaction to serve other guests. She first stopped to provide ice to someone, then served coffee to another guest, and later even prioritized an entirely new group for checkout. What should have been a quick payment process turned into a nearly 20-minute wait.What made this experience particularly troubling is that the staff member prioritized white guests ahead of me, despite the fact that I had already been waiting and was in the middle of being assisted. This created not only unnecessary delay but also a feeling of being treated as less important because of my race.No guest should ever feel singled out or disrespected in this way. I strongly urge Hey Lou Hotel to take this matter seriously and ensure that staff receive proper training on fair, respectful, and professional service for all guests.

Clean and tidy. Helpful staff. Charging device for electro car was available :). Great breakfast!

No telephone is the room. And youtube on TV did not work.

I chose this hotel for a night stay on a trip.All fresh,room clean,close by main roads,quite around,easy free parking.Nice communication with stuff,i was checking in the middle of night,all easy finding.

It was a really nice hotel. Plus points:- good shower- comfortable bed- nice and clean rooms- decent breakfast- plenty of free parking space incl. charging for electric cars

Only minus was that the airco didn’t seem to work and the pillow was too soft.

There was one lady at check in that wasnt friendly. Parking was really difficult.

There's is no receptionist, and everything is there for you to self checkout. Very easy to do. If you did need help, there was an employee on standby. Loved this feature as I have never experienced this before.

It is in walking distance of the exhibition centre and transport links. There is a supermarket a few metres away, so catering for your day and getting emergency forgotten items is easy.

Prices for the rooms are variable, and if I stayed over Friday and Saturday, it would have been too expensive for me, and would not have been good value for money at all - considering that it is a basic but adequate place to overnight.

Very comfortable hotel close to the city and just a couple of steps from the Karlsruhe exhibition center.Very clean, a large parking area, a convenient system to check in.

They didn’t cleaning the room and room are so hot in the night couldn’t sleep 2 nights

An EV charger is present nearby, not at the property itself, that loser wasn’t working well, again not to blame the property. So would be great if the hotel has a charger

It was a very nice hotel. Very clean and very modern.The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Fabianne welcomed us very nicely and she gave us all information.

The people at the Reception were fantastic. Although you check in digitally, they are there to help you along the process. Very polite and nice people -THANK YOU! The heating system in the room I was checked in was not working properly. I gave it 2 hours but it did not heat the room. I went to the reception and asked for help and they immediately offered me another room on the same floor (so that I do not have to carry my staff up and down with the elevator).They ordered me a taxi to go to my business event in the centre and were super kind.Breakfast is good too.If you are attending an event at the Messe, stay there! (but come by car:-))

There is no food at the hotel (only breakfast). It is also very far away from the centre (taxi to the centre costs 35 euro). If you arrive by car, then you can find a restaurant in the evening in the surrounding area (but only one). During the day, there is a supermarket in front of the hotel door but no restaurant.

Everything was very clean and the breakfast was decent. For people attending events at the Messe it’s a great location, and conveniently next to Rewe if you want some quick healthy food.

The rooms have absolutely no soundproofing. I slept horribly because I could hear every time my neighbors moved their desk chair or walked around. The heating also doesn’t work well and blows air right at you when you work at the desk, so I felt very cold the whole time. Lastly, the check-in process was frustrating. Firstly because I had to re-enter all of my information again on a touchscreen (even my address, my employer’s address, my birthdate, etc.). And secondly because the woman who assisted me handled an error in my booking like it was unresolvable and I would have to cancel my booking and rebook. When I tried to calmly discuss it, she would just stare at me like I was crazy. It made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome.

The closest hotel to the fair area, easy access to the city center, quiet area opposite of a supermarket.

Room was clean, spacious and close to the venue of the event I was attending.

Room did not have a fridge or a electric kettle to make coffee, and parking was not adequate for the number of people staying.

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel and it was very clean and the staffs were very good, the breakfast was nice

The room was so clean and the breakfast was OK for the money and the staffs were very nice and I will recommend friends to visit.
