Stay's OTARU

Modern, spacious and styley. Good sized warm room with separate toilet, bathroom and laundry areas. Good view from Balcony over neighbourhood and a slice of the sea. Parking available but hit and miss if you get on-site or up the road. Staff were pleasant. Nice to have drip coffee bags available and beer vending machine in lobby. Quiet neighbourhood. Not aware of any restaurants or shops handy. Very snowy roads leading up the premises.

Water heater couldn't make water hot enough for a comfortable bath. Bed was a bit roll together. Would have been better on Tatami.

great location, great view, quite room, good floor plan, room is equipped with all items we need.

the iron doesn't stay heated for long enough to finish a shirt.

I really loved the entire room that we booked! The interior design of the hotel has a modern Japanese vibe which I really love. The room was beyond our expectations as well, it was clean and all the things we needed were already provided. This is the best place to stay in Otaru, it's right in the Sakaimachi area and really nearby the Music Box Museum. The staff are so nice by the way! ??

Quiet and convenient parking, the room is nice with big balcony.

Room is spacious, but settings is a bit clumsy. probably the kitchen is too big and sleeping futon area occupied most space, it left only a small room for sofa sitting area, even it is hard to walk around the room.

Most of the staff were superb and helpful -- they even let me check in early as no one was staying in my room the night before. They were able to forward my luggage to my next destination. Destination is on top of a steep hill, which makes for fantastic views. Nearby cafes and restaurants, but quiet and peaceful at night.

The front desk is not manned at consistent hours or according to the sign. I would not recommend using their business center. It's nothing special from a quick glance, but unlike other hotels, it is not free to use, even if some of their staff tells you. They thought I used it and rang my room doorbell one morning until I woke up and then berated me and tried to get me to pay a large sum of money. The man who checked me in said it was free to use, so I was very confused what was going on (especially as I was half asleep!). The room is nice and clean, but very slippery and uncomfortable bedding. There was an angry man one night who was storming up and down the hallways at 3 am and was really scary.

Love everything about the place. Very clean and spacious.

The bed is not comfy. Not much support. That's the only bad points. If they convert it to futon may be better.

We liked that the room is spacious, parking is free, and there is a coworking space. We also liked that when we arrived early and the room wasn’t ready, the hotel still let us check in and gave us a key for later, and delivered our luggages to the room for us.

The washing machine was complicated to operate, even with the English instructions. It also didn’t dry our clothes properly. (It wasn’t a user problem because we stayed at other hotels during our two weeks road trip in Japan and used other washing room successfully)

The room is big and clean. The location is super good just 5-10 min walk to the shopping street (actually the hotel is right behind the snoopy village but it is uphill). If you rent a car, this place has a parking lot for you so it is super convenient. Love it and will surely recommend it to friends.

The place is very nice and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had 2 rooms on different floors, and the staff helped to rearrange and change both rooms on the same floor.

The room is large and the facilities are suitable for long stays. There is a washing and drying machine in the room which is convenient.

The location is quite far from restaurants, train stations (around 10-15 min walk to minami-otaru station and 20 min walk to otaru station).

Spacious apartment in a central location. Staff was friendly & accommodating.

Location is perfect for people can driving there.walking to nearby restaurants will be difficult for elderly people due to some uphill climbing and downhills.Room furnishings are very nice.Like the in room bath tub and shower.

Close t the main shopping street. Spacious and have a small kitchen that you can cook some simple stuff. Also has a wash machine to use.

About 15-20 min walk from jr Minami Otaru station. Need to change bus if you want to go to Otaru aquarium or city museum.

Quite difficult to locate when snowing or night time, best to have more road signage
