    • I had stayed there 2.5 yrs previously & liked the setting & historical feel of the property + restaurant was good hence returning.Very good breakfast included, no kettle to make a hot drink in my room but one night there was still a staff member around so asked for a jug of hot water & she was very obliging. Room was good, bed comfortable & view of inner courtyard was nice. Bathroom was small but adequate but the colour was a very bright green (the room I'd stayed in previously had a v bright pink bathroom)I liked the location but it is in the country & my internet wasn't working much so returning in the dark proved challenging at times.

I arrived at midnight, but my room was easily accessible thanks to the instrcutions from the property staff. Their communication is great. The breakfast was amazing! Also nice location, relatively easy to be reached.

The rooms could partially be described as out of date. There's bars in front of some windows which prevents you from opening them and the bathrooms aren't the most beautiful. But the beds are really comfortable!

    Great location and breakfast.

    Bathroom needs serious upgrade...

What an awesome place to stay! Really enjoyed myself. And my small teckel was very welcome to ?

The wild goulash in the restaurant was not so good, but there were dishes that looked good

    The bed was comfortable.

I requested a late check in as I was driving for 11 hours that day from Croatia before arriving to Haus Schlesien. They said it was no problem and that the keys would be waiting for me in a safe, they also gave me instructions. When I arrived just after 9 pm the safe was unlocked and there was no key inside. I tried ringing at the reception, calling the number, no answer. I ended up calling customer support at Booking to assist me with the matter. Booking reassured me they would find a different accomodation for me if Haus Schlesien doesn't respond within 45minutes. At this point I'm sitting in my car with my dog at a gas station. It was already almost 11 pm and I haven't heard neither from a hotel or from Booking. I was furious and disappointed and worried I'll have to sleep in my car with my dog in the middle of nowhere, while I had a long trip to the UK ahead of me the following day. At that point I called few hotels in Bonn and found one that is dog friendly and has room last minute. I went back to the safe around 11pm to take a video as a proof there was no keys when I complain and ask for a refund. I get to Haus Schlesien and miraculously there are the keys in the safe. An apology and a call saying sorry for the inconvenience, sorry for being late, and just an update that my room is finally ready would have been nice. Disappointing experience.

One of the only available option at the end of this stage of the Rheinsteig

Outdated and not very appealing, felt more like a 1980s hostel or a state run institution rather than tourist accommodation. A little grubby, cobwebs and dead insects. Broken sink in the bathroom which was about to be replaced apparently

Breakfast in the morning was excellent, We parked in the public carpark accross the road the hotel car park may be behinf the hotem but is not clearly sign posted, and no guidance is sent prior to arrival.

The hotel is advertised on Booking.com with a resturant on site. If it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays Every week the booking site should say so.This hotel therefore does not have a resturant and is marketing a product it does not have!We parked in the public carpark accross the road the hotel car park may be behinf the hotem but is not clearly sign posted, and no guidance is sent prior to arrival.

    The breakfast was very good.

Shared shower and toilet which is not mention in the app!! No way to lock the shower/toilet while you are in. In addition there were quite a few human hair there and wasn’t look too clean. Room was cold. Bed was uncomfortable. No internet in the room.

The staff tried to speak English to us even though some of them were struggling. The restaurant and beer garden is really nice.

Breakfast ever on time and modest. The place is very accessible

I was served drinking water in the room only once

    7DespinaPosted on: 3-1-2024

The breakfast was very good, as well as the restaurant.

The pics are not really representative, we expected something better. The room had old furniture, and a strange smell. There was no wifi signal and warm water needed a lot of time to appear. Also we had to climb two floors of old wooden stairs, which is not pleasant with luggage.

    7IlzePosted on: 11-7-2023

The historical site. Very beautiful and quiet area. Silence. Friendly staaf.

Bathroom was not really 'fresh'.The restaurant was not what we expected.

An unique climat. Excellent ratio price / quality. Nice restaurant. Welcome host. Free parking.

    Nothing to highlight.

Good parking and no additional fees for that. Breakfast was ok

We came in at around 6 pm and there was nobody around, we tried every door and eventually found out that the "reception" was inside the restaurant. We were expecting the room to be old fashioned but not as old fashioned as it actually was. Apart from that it was not clean at all. The floor was dirty and I found a spider next to the curtains. The breakfast had very few choices but the selections very tasty

Nice hotel in the countryside outside of Bonn. It's about 15 mins to drive from Bonn. Nice old estate, now apparently used for seminars and conferences etc. The room was basic but in a nice and rustic way. Great breakfast as early as 6:15am.

    7MartinPosted on: 9-19-2023

Traditional, good beer and food, close to hiking/ cycling trails, mostly quiet

    Basic (not terribly cosy)

The location was fabulous. If you like hiking, castles, the river. This is a great place.Architecturally, it's an interesting place .

If you are not a German speaker you will be lost. Everything in the hotel is written in German. I didn't find anyone who spoke English. This gives a feeling of not being welcome.I found it hard to find the entrance and reception. The receptionist was not welcoming and explained how to get to my room in German. The way to the room was not clear, and I only found the room number when I'd got there. The room itself was dowdy. Very worn. The furniture was old, the walls needed painting, my bedside cupboard was stained. The bed was very hard and very uncomfortable. The bathroom was very old. The shower screen was greasy and smeary. The shower had mould in it and needed to be better cleaned to get rid of residual chalk stains. The heating was behind the door. It was dangerous and badly situated. Breakfast was poor. There was choice of cheese, hams, yoghurt, eggs and breads. The bread was old and dried out. The breakfast cake was dry. The scrambled eggs were not available. The coffee had stewed in the can, was lukewarm. It was a disappointment. My room was situated overlooking the internal courtyard, which is also the beer garden and outside restaurant. If it had been good weather I'd have been kept awake by noise until late.It was a cheap hotel. But I'd stayed in a B&B in England for the same price and 100% better service and quality. This place is taking your money but not doing anything to modernise, clean, improve communications with clients. BTW I speak German!
