Weinhotel Pfeffer & Salz

A quiet, charming hotel in the hills but close enough to enjoy Gengenbach. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were big enough. I liked all the natural wood features and the hotel was attached to a local winery that you could sample.

I wish the sauna was free and available to use in the evenings but it was 14 euros for 2 hours per person.

It is located just outside of Gengenbach in a lovely natural setting. The outside dining area and lobby are updated and very nice.

There was a massive heat wave (up to 36 degrees during the day). The rooms were unbearably hot, with no A/C or cooling. There are no screens on the windows and opening them would allow bugs in. There was a large hornet nest next to one of our rooms, and opening the windows caused many hornets to flood into the room. The staff were reluctant to bring fans to the rooms, and even with them it was impossible to sleep. The rooms weren’t as updated as the rest of the hotel but were adequate otherwise.

The setting, 15 minutes to walk into glorious Gengenbach. A wine tasting and bought some to take home. Good breakfast. Easy and safe parking.Very friendly

Large, comfortable room with King sized bed and very well equipped throughout.We ate there both nights we stayed and the food was delicious and well presented.Breakfast was varied with plenty of choice, all freshly prepared.

Very beautiful location. The room was nice and had a little patio. The bathroom was large for European standards. The breakfast every morning was great!

The room was comfortable and modern with a small walk-out area. Restaurant was very nice for dinner and the local wine delicious. Was close to the old town so was a quick drive. Breakfast was outstanding.

The wine tasting and restaurant where closed and we did not know this before arrival. Disappointing since we had planned this hotel due to them offering both.

The meal at the restaurant was exceptional. The breakfast also!

It was very warm and we had no air conditioning. That would have made the stay much more comfortable.

An excellent hotel: all the staff were very helpful, the location is about a 20 minute walk to the centre but is set in a great area. We decided to have a meal at the hotel and this was to a high standard as was their own wine. All in all a great place to stay.

Just a water heater missing in the room, for a cup of tea or coffee.

A stunning hotel - great attention to detail.The staff were very welcoming and helpful.The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent The setting is lovely, unfortunately the weather was awful but we plan to go back as we’d like to explore the area further.

Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Location is wonderful and the restaurant is excellent. Great place to relax and the town is charming.

Fabulous location, first class breakfast and ample car parking. Just a 13 minute walk downhill into the old town would recommend this place for sure

reception is on the first floor and is slightly confusing when we reach the hotel. otherwise the hotel looks brand new and rooms are very comfortable.

Very decent, clean rooms. Fantastic, typically German buffet breakfast. Excellent restaurant with friendly staff.

Rooms could have a bit more character but otherwise a great place to stay and really good value for money. It's a shame that the restaurant was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but a minor gripe.
