Gasthof Hirsch

We had a lot of trouble finding parking. It was our first evening in Germany so figuring out how parking works was a bit challenging. We tried several of the parking options before finding one that locals said we could park in and pay with the app. Once we figured that out we could walk to the hotel and all was good.

We arrived by train and it was a short 8 min walk with luggage. Feasible with my 9yo child. Located next to the beautiful xmas markets which had the largest advent calendar made it super convenient to get back to rest after enjoying the markets in the cold. The breakfast was delightful with a good selection, we thoroughly enjoyed filling ourselves up. Room was modern and comfortable, yet charming, we loved listening to the clock bells chimed. The kind receptionist helped us in his limited german using chatgpt on the buses to get to the castle and Offenburg. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Location? ***** SO easy to get around. Hosts? super friendly and accomodating Brreakfast? yummy. Loved it. Some nice short hikes in area ... weather permitting!

everything was great

Location close to old town center and train station but quiet. Spacious rooms.

Good location, close to train station and the old town center.Room is specious and the bathroom is big, shower has good hot water.

The Gasthof is in a good location to explore the old town and good access to the railway.We had a lovely room with lots of space on the first floor. Wifi was fine, as was cleanliness. The shower was pretty good but did have the temperature vary slightly. The breakfast is sufficient with enough choices. The bed is comfortable and there are plenty of power outlets. We had little interaction with the owners but neither was it necessary as they had provided clear instructions on how to get into our room after regular checkin times.

We enjoyed our stay. Nothing to do with the accommodation but if using the trains you need to be fully aware of the train timetable as long gaps between trains if you don't plan.

Super cute town and location

Although they said they would be open, they weren’t and they kind of had to figure out a hidden key situation. Our daughter had a separate room and she didn’t have a fan despite very high temperatures.

Beautifully appointed room in an excellent location. Grateful for the in-room refrigerator & tea kettle.Excellent breakfast!

Our room was clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful. A wonderful breakfast was served.

Spacious, quaint room. The A/C was helpful in the hot weather. Close to everything. And the breakfast was wonderful.

Fantastic location. Great breakfast. Wonderful hostess. My room was huge and a rustic type that I requested from their online photos. Had a refrigerator, coffee, tea, kettle, and bottled water, which I always appreciate. It was my favorite room of my trip.

Possibly not the most modern bathroom, but it fits with the house. No complaints.

Breakfast was the best on our trip. Location is close to the center of town, train station, and other activities. Would highly recommend this hotel. We used it as our Basecamp for all of our adventures in the black forest area.

Room was roomy enough to relax and have adequate space for luggage. It was great to be able to both drop off our luggage early and store until our train arrived the next day. Breakfast was nice and the homemade jams - EXCELLENT. An easy walking distance for the market area or for even a beautiful stroll of Gengenbach. Be aware there are steep-ish, narrow stairs so big suitcases may be a challenge.

It was very quaint which suited the town which is also very quaint. Our hosts were lively and the breakfast food. Our room was spacious. Warm and comfortable.

The location was great & the staff was very friendly

I stayed in room 7, and they had a 2 meter large mosquito biting someone on the wall. As I was the last one to arrive at around 4pm there were no other rooms available- however, they did agree to cover the mosquito’s face and the claws that were digging into skin - as honestly I don’t find that relaxing to look at as I try to fall asleep. It took up the entire wall - not sure whom that appeals to. The other rooms looked nice - and I think no 6-7 foot images of a massive bug - but I do think it’s worth a double check with them when booking, if they have a massive blown up bug decorating the wall or not.

Great location for altstadt and also walking distance to train station. Very good breakfast, restaurant was not open

Stairs to room, no elevator

Breakfast was really good and room size pretty OK!

We never got the key to get in (when I received an email saying so) and reception was closed when we got there at 8pm. Nonetheless I called and they answered straight away and everything was great. There is no elevator.

The location is great close to everything, including the train station. The staff is very nice and the breakfast is a nice treat.

Walls are fairly thin, but what do you expect. Still would stay here again.

Great location, comfortable clean. This wa our 2nd time here. We also stayed in 2016 and came back due to the great service, location and rooms Short walk but uphill from train & the town centre is just a few minutes walk. Very beautiful place to visit.
