    Cons -

    • The shower was really small.
    • When i entered the room, it was super smelly and not clean at all, which was the biggest first impression red flag! Also, the lockers didn’t have any locks so your things are open to be stolen. They sell locks for 6 euros downstairs which is not reasonable to me. Bring your own small locks with you.
    • The lighting in the rooms was bad, there wasn't any sofas or armchairs within the rooms, also the bathroom was very barebones, there wasn't even an outlet to charge my electric toothbrush and the showering 'corner' is one of the worst ideas I've seen.

Very friendly staff, also quite location, near to metro station

The room is not too clean

We reached almost midnight, and the reception was open; the front staff were so supportive and friendly. It's most suited for young people, as many games and activities are available to do. It has a common kitchen cum dining area, if you want to heat the food of your choice.

Nothing as such. It's an almost 7-8 minute walk from the nearest metro station

The room was clean. Very clean bathroom. Friendly and welcoming staff. Adequate breakfast buffet.

The floor in the room was not properly cleaned or was not clean. I also think the beds can be made before guests arrive.

A huge disappointment. I was prevented from using the kitchen in the evening due to the rules of the hostel, even though I had only asked for it.If you use a bread warmer.I was forced to eat the bread cold. This is truly inhumane.

Room was spacious with big windows and there are activities you can do in the hotel (games, restaurant etc)

The location is a bit difficult to access during snow (it was snowing) and apparently you need to take around 20min train to get to the city. I also wish the kitchen has more appliances (more kettle or even stoves). And please to add towel and bathroom mat.

It was amazing with plenty of things like, cinema, bar, and games, etc.

Just suggest that they can add curtains in front of the bunker beds so it will be more elegant privacy for the people.

    3AnasPosted on: 1-2-2026

Honestly, not much. The hostel is spacious, and the staff at reception were polite, but overall the experience did not meet basic expectations for a hostel.

one of the worst experiences I’ve had....there are no curtains on the beds, so there is no privacy at all. There is no proper kitchen only a microwave. For a hostel, this is a big downside, as guests usually expect to be able to prepare their own food. Despite the hostel being large and the kitchen being in a separate area, guests are asked to leave the common areas at midnight. Many long-term residents stay at the hostel and treat it like their home. This leads to noise late at night and early in the morning, including phone calls, making it very difficult to sleep. There is no age restriction, and loud snoring at night was a constant issue. I stayed for 4 nights and barely slept. The room was very dirty, and the bathrooms were poorly maintained. On top of that, the location is far from the city center, which makes getting around inconvenient.

Stains in bed lines. Non-functional kitchen. Expensive towels.

I had an extremely disturbing and unsafe experience at Via Hostel in Amsterdam and would strongly caution others before staying here.On the night of my stay, my wallet was stolen directly out of my pocket inside the hostel. Shortly after, another guest began aggressively confronting me and attempting to start a physical fight. I repeatedly asked hostel security and staff to remove this individual from my space, explaining clearly that I felt threatened and unsafe. Despite multiple requests, staff did absolutely nothing to de-escalate the situation or protect me.The situation escalated to the point where I was physically assaulted. I sustained visible bruises to the back of my head and my face. Only after this happened did the hostel finally contact the police — far too late to prevent harm. When the police arrived, I had already been forced to defend myself. What is most shocking is that instead of supporting the victim, the hostel staff chose to remove me from my room and eject me from the hostel entirely, claiming I was “fighting,” despite the fact that I was defending myself after repeatedly asking for help. I was left without accommodation in a foreign country, late at night, with my wallet stolen and injuries sustained. This hostel failed at every basic level of guest safety:Failure to prevent theftFailure to respond to threatsFailure to intervene during an assaultFailure to protect a guest afterwardI am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism, care, and responsibility shown by Via Hostel staff. No guest should ever feel abandoned, threatened, or punished for defending themselves when staff refuse to act. This experience was traumatic and completely unacceptable

I had a concert that day and it was a perfect distance for me. Thirty minute walk to Ziggo Dome is just about right for me :) the bed was also clean and roommates were also very kind

The fact I didn't know if I had to bring my own bed stuff and/or towel for showering

    7MarkoPosted on: 11-29-2025

I liked how welcoming the place looked and clean.

I didnt like the staff, they didnt try to me help resolve my issue, in which i booked a room for 2 but was meant to book it for 2 nights, but they showed no interest or any customer service, looked me up and down and decided not to help me, in which is a pity because its a beautiful hostel.

    9SelmaPosted on: 11-23-2025

Great communal space, lively atmosphere, well-planned space in the rooms, smooth and easy organization of the facility, competent and friendly staff.

    The rooms should be cleaner.

    9WardPosted on: 11-21-2025

Affordable, great value. Close to the Ziggo Dome venue. Clean. Got a free upgrade on arrival (6-people room to 4-people room).

To get Internet access, you have to enter an email and agree to marketing mails. On an industry park, so the immediate surroundings aren't that pretty. The toilet paper dispensers get clogged. This is the second time I stayed there and the second time it happened.

    The hostel

The noisy roommates that showed no respect for others sleep. And I asked for a refund, due to my anxiety and had to leave a week early. I would like a refund please.
