Gran Hotel Rey Don Jaime

It is beautiful and has a great restaurant. I wish I could have seen it in the sunshine, my visit was very short.

The room was underwhelming compared to the rest of the hotel. I know I likely chose their cheapest room since I had such a short stay. I thought there would be character to match the rest of the hotel.

The location was nice and beautiful

I booked this hotel as we were only going to be in Barcelona for one day and we wanted a nice pool. They booked two events by the pool so you had to swim in the middle of someone¿s event. If you were not with either event, the staff ignored you.

Absolutely wonderful! Amazing staff: charming, helpful, always smiling. Beautiful decor, gorgeous rooms. Great breakfast. Restaurant and poolside bar on site. Fabulous views to sea. Only 15min walk (or 5min shuttle) to beach and other good restaurants.

I like the peacefulness of the hotel. When I arrived, the person welcomed me very nicely. The room was beautiful, comfortable and smelled very good. The breakfast was fantastic and the server very polite and enthusiast.

as soon as you drive down the parking, there are 2 columns and one of the walls, where the hotel owners should add or stick a big piece of carpet because it is too narrow and there are lots of marks where cars touched the walls and columns because it is too narrow and the space is limited for a normal car size. even my Tesla Y which is medium size was very tight...

Terible expirience becouse of a man on reception that dont know his job. We have a confirmed booking that he cant find in computer and then blame me first then booking and in the end he missed to look becouse my name was first. Arogante, not very clever and rude man make us wait 1 hour at 00.00 . If they dont change people like this dont go there

The place is simply beautiful if you want to relax and unwind. Gorgeous views and the history around. The breakfast exceeded the expectations. Wine is being served for breakfast:)

You need the car to get around including the beach.

I loved the feeling of it having an historical feel, but the amenities were modern ie. bathrooms were wonderful and dining on the terrace with amazing food was the best way to experience our final night in Barcelona. The breakfast was fabulous!

It did feel a little too modern and “cold” when we walked in. I was expecting the historical feeling represented in the pictures. I was pleased that we were assigned rooms that were in the classic section of the hotel.

Beautiful property, wonderful staff, great food, and amazing views.

There was a wedding scheduled that day, which was quite beautiful. But we had to leave the pool for set up and you could hear the music from the wedding late into the night.

Beautiful place, view

I asked to be placed in a room with a view. They placed me in a wing with old windows with cracks, there was no soundproofing at all. I also heard all the sounds from the corridor through the door and cracks. You can hear all the neighbors from all floors, both above and below. Someone was walking all night, early in the morning you can hear everyone getting ready, like orcs, children stomping from the upper floor and so on. It was impossible to sleep. Do something about the soundproofing! There is a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom. The continuation was cleaned, dust on the shelves, black hair on the walls in the shower and everywhere. There is no kettle or tea in the room, not even a bottle of water. Everything for money. Only beautiful views

We spent 2 nights in a beautiful building and location. We were so captivated by the beauty of the garden and the view that we spent half of our first day there relaxing, even though we had other plans. The waiter's service in the bar was impeccable. The staff is polite and kind.

The only thing is that the soundproofing of the rooms is not good, but we only had a problem with the noise from the garden and the neighboring rooms on the first night, we were still able to sleep from midnight to 7 in the morning.

Great views, great facilities and super friendly staff.

The hotel is really outdated and needs major renovations. We selected it for the spa (that was unfortunately closed) and the calmness…BUT we were awakened every morning by the staff (housekeepers) that were very loud and even knocked on our door even though we had the « do not disturb » tag on the doorknob. Unacceptable. Paper thin walls…You could literally hear the neighbors’ conversation. The parking is a plus.
