Hotel Splendid is like having a holiday in an other century or in a Sherlock Holmes film. No hotel is like this one. The stuff is excellent, everybody has an other character of this imaginary film, just like the hotel itself. No five star is enough to express the unique experience of Splendid Palas.

Breakfast excellent. Beautifully restored hotel and swimming pool.

No air conditioning or fans in rooms.

I have no words to explain the feelings I bought my stay in splendid Palace Hotel - everything starting from beautiful architecture, location, staff was top-notch.

The building is super picturesque and in central location. Staff is super helpful.Breakfast is delicious and fresh everyday.

Since it is historical building there is no ac, they are providing one fan only for each room, but during the day it is not enough to rest in the room. Bar menu is limited, and a bit overpriced.

The hotel is a real fairytale. Even if it has no air condition, our stay was really pleasant. The sea view is so mesmerizing, the breakfast is rich, the staff is friendly and professional.

If i really have to name something, i will say that the coffee is bad.

A beautiful 19th century palace with magnificent historical decor and authentic oriental rooms. Perfect location, nice and cosy swimming pool, helpful reception and bar staff. Super nice outside bar with proper hot dogs.

Rooms clearly require A/C. Fan is not a solution when it is 35 C outside. Staff serving the breakfast at the luxury hotel should speak English at least at beginners level to address your guests’ modest request. Had to look for a person understanding the word “porridge” for 15 min. The restaurant is pretentious but the food is mediocre and hugely overpriced.

Unfortunately, the hotel rooms have no ac and the bathroom had no window to open. In the summer months it therefore gets VERY warm in the rooms. The hotel lobby, on the other hand, is pleasantly climatized.

We originally explored Buyukada's Splendid Palace in 2006 on a brief honeymoon stop en route to Asia. Our nostalgia made us grateful to return and explore the vintage sights on the car-free island while gazing out at many water views. Ease of access from the city make it appealing with less than a two hour ferry ride, it feels much farther away.

Overall, the food offerings were pretty basic, some items were quite delicious yet not amazing.

Beautiful place the staff especially the manager were great - there was a problem with the booking and they solved it very diplomatically and satisfactorily.

We stayed in a renovated deluxe room. Everything was nice except marked carpet in the room. The building looks amazing.

Breakfast could be more varied with menu options.

If you want to make a sweet escape and relax, this is the perfect stay. The building and the atmosphere are perfect.

I would suggest to take care about the bathroom condition, it looks quite old and the smell of sewer pipes is very strong. I think using redd diffusers in the room can help for the first time. I would reccomend to make a greeting drink / Turkish tea, it could be very hospitable.And the tea pot can be added in the room as there is only coffee machine. By the way, when I came to the room, the capsules of the coffee machine were used. That seemed very strange. I think the cleaning wasn't made carefully.

This is nice and beautiful historical place with good service and exceptional restaurant. We like the feel of history and beautiful views. The staff is also very welcoming.

The facilities and room equipment is bit outdated due to time of construction but you shouldn't think about it as about new hotel – it's historical attraction. The price is bit higher tha expected, but it's okay.

- A lot of small details that make the ambiance not really there (plastic signs, no tablecloths, renovation with cheap and inadequate lamps or furniture).- Breakfast is really disappointing for such a hotel, not what we expected.- The price is totally out of range, not worth that much money at all. Even in the low season, it was extremely expensive.

Staying in Splendid Palace was a magical experience, it was like going back in time. The internal decoration of the hotel was tasteful. I loved spending time in the bar section; great for sipping some cocktails in a great ambiance and reading some books in peace. Both the interior bar section and the terrace have a great view of the Marmara Sea.The hotel also has a restaurant, I highly recommend having dinner here to enjoy creative interpretations of Turkish Cuisine.Finally, the staff was very kind & welcoming. I thank all of them for enabling this great experience.

A great place to relax after noisy Istanbul. Hotel with unique charm and style. Even the antique furniture, creaking floor and stairs are to be enjoyed here. Great breakfast and pool. Staff very helpful. Would love to come back here again.

Wi-Fi connection is a bit confusing - you have to enter your passport number every time you connect. However, instead of surfing the Internet, you have a great opportunity to enjoy the view from the balcony, the hospitality of the staff in the cafe and the cats that are everywhere. It's worth it..
