Pros +
- Very clean property and very comfortable. The host was excellent in welcoming us and getting us settled into our room. We were walking the Portuguese Camino and found the location and hotel comforts perfect for our needs. The morning breakfast was appreciated to prepare us for our long day of walking ahead. We would recommend staying at this hotel to everyone.
- Clean, comfortable. Good breakfast
- Hotel Vasco Da Gama is a great place to stay, especially on the Camino! Location is perfect, everything is clean, great breakfast. But more than anything it is the service. If you stay, you will feel like family is taking care of you! If I could give it a higher rating I would!
Cons -
- A little noisy.
- We liked everything.
- our room had plumbing down pipes running behind the beds ... very noisy throughout the night.

The hosts were wonderful; clean and comfortable room; very good breakfast
Staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Hotel is very comfortable and in good location near Camino coastal route.
It was quiet and clean. The people that worked there were very kind.
We liked everything.
Very comfortable hotel. Clean rooms. Great location. Enjoyable and relaxing outdoor areas. Super kind owner and management. Wonderful artwork and antiques throughout.
Great location, comfortable bed in well sized room with excellent bathroom. Quiet, and good breakfast included.
breakfast service and staff were excellent; outdoor patio and small kitchen were sufficient for a wonderful bread, salami, cheese, wine meal.
our room had plumbing down pipes running behind the beds ... very noisy throughout the night.
Staff was great, comfortable room, quiet, good continental breakfast. Excellent stay while walking the Camino.
Nothing. Everything was good.
The manager of the hotel (Alvaro) is stupendous. Very accommodating and super helpful (for example helped me park our van in a tight place). Best of all, he assisted in calling an ambulance for my friend who became ill, and watched all of our things until I could come back and get them. He then directed traffic so I could get through (a street fair was going on). The hotel is impeccably clean, and has small conveniences such as a separate place to hang wet clothes to dry. It has a lovely garden to sit in.
The hotel is a bit quirky. One room with 3 twin beds on the ground floor in the back. The rest of the rooms are on the 2nd floor (3rd to Americans) with no elevator. (However, the manager takes all luggage up for you!). Our double twin room was very small, to the point where we couldn't leave our suitcases open. The beds were VERY firm.
The kind and helpful owner makes this an excellent choice. The room and bed were very comfortable. Highly recommend.
Great location near the Camino path, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast, and an extra friendly manager, who let us in early.
Nice little hotel close to the camino de Santiago. We received outstanding services by the hotel owner.
Close to Camino, pharmacy very close, good restaurants near, laundry beside hotel, management attentive to details, early check-in, cafe / wine seating area inside and out. Nice simple but fresh breakfast. Perfect place and value if walking the Camino
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was very clean, uncluttered, with a spacious bathroom, and the host’s warm hospitality made us feel welcome. A wonderful stop along the Camino that we’d gladly recommend.
The owners were so very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was great. Room was comfortable.
Loved this town and sweet hotel. Nice spacious rooms, garden, friendly staff. They packed us breakfast when we needed to be on road early.
The air conditioning made intermittently loud sounds and disrupted sleep. It was nice they supplied a fan and this helped drown out some of A/C noise.
Very good value on the Camino. Owner is friendly. Room was nice and clean. Good breakfast. Plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner.
the room and hotel were clean and the staff was helpful in answering my questions and needs - it was not too far from the Camino
pillows were a bit lumpy for my taste and be a bit hard
