    Pros +

    • Stayed here planning on going to the norikura Highlands the next day, but the bus routes closed early due to snow. Despite that disappointment, the hotel itself was very nice. Certainly not a traditional ryokan, but the room was nice and the tea and snacks were delicious. The buffet was very acceptable, but the best part was the outdoor bath and easy access to hiking.
    • Great property, typically excellent Japanese service. They do a great shuttle service to the ski slopes but the field itself needs more development, a lot of it has been closed. Hopefully with the resurgence of skiing/boarding as a holiday it can get back on its feet.
    • The bus stop for bus to Norikura snow wall is just outside, you can get tickets from concierge. Near to all the walking trails. Buffet style meals were suitable for our family. Nice indoor and outdoor onsen.

    Cons -

    • It is out of the way to get to, and if you plan on taking a bus there, double check the schedules:it doesn't go all the way to the hotel all year round.
    • Please treat your own staff better. Saw one incident in the morning where a cleaner was in tears after getting yelled at by leader. They do a fantastic job so be easier on them.
    • the dinner is in buffet style, many foods are dried becoz of it. I wish there could be a Japanese style of Dinning experience. food overall is so-so, quite disappointed.
