Kutsukake Stay Naka-Karuizawa

Beautiful, delicious breakfast, bath, spacious room, very warm, attentive staff, could store luggage afterwards.

Not hotels fault - although close to Naka Karuizawa Station only hourly trains to Karuizawa Station or Nagano Station. Be aware and plan ahead.

Appealing hotel with nice big room and very comfy bed

We were unaware that the breakfast was set menu and therefore had not informed the hotel prior of our dietary restrictions, it would have been better if this was disclosed prior to arrival.

The staff are very nice. Dinner and breakfast are spectacularly delicious. The room is clean. The bath is just hot water but very relaxing. Everything is just well balanced. Super value for money.

The bathroom is clean, but without a doorlock.The bed is clean and comfortable

No microwave, no refrigerator, no kitchen and no restaurant around in midnight. So it would be a trouble for dinner.Luckily there is a convenient store nearby.

The location is quite far from the JR station.

The property was close to Nakakaruizawa station and within a walking distance from Harunire Terrace. This property was an renovated old Japanese house. They did a great work transforming an old house to a hostel. The garden was charming. The staff were professional. The shared room was spacious and charming as well. They had a common space with wooden tables and chairs, sofa, TV, books shelf, which was really comfortable. Breakfast was very good, though the dishes were generally a bit salty.

Shared room - It would be good they placed a soft reminder to all guests about the house rule about noise and quiet hours. Other guests, especially in a couple or group, continued chatting in the evening and in the morning. It woke me up early in the morning and disrupted my sleep. Bath room - One of the hair dryers was broken and was not fully functional. The other was working ok but too weak to dry my hair. I realized that the power was only 550w max. Wish they could get a better hairdryer. Shared bath room - I visited the shared bath past 6 p.m. but it was not open and I could not enjoy it. Location - it was within a walking distance from the nearest station and Harunire terrace, however it was really dark after the sunset and it did not look safe to walk the surrounding area at night. It would be good if the hostel rented a bike.

Distance from Shinkansen. Firm mattresses. Like wow. I mostly did not enjoy Karuizawa.

The overall design of the hostel is great, a very beautiful place in general. The bunk bed itself was spacious enough for a girl but i would imagine it to be a little tight for bigger man. Still, everything is very clean, nicely designed and i enjoyed the stay thoroughly. The onzen was also great. The location is not difficult to find, just a short walk from Naka-Karuizawa station.
