Grand Hotel Alassio Beach & Spa Resort - The Leading Hotels of the World

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The general atmosphere is very pleasant and a little bit artsy, the location is superb. This may be rated 5 stars. I was driving on to The Carlton in Cannes (I broke the drive from Milan with this stay), and for sure The Carlton is a true 5 star - this one more like 4 or 4+. But within that context, one of the very best I've ever stayed at. Will return for sure.

Difficult to say, may be location, but only the sea view, backyard which is main entrance is disaster.

It was 5 star hotel may be 100 years ago. If to be honest it is strong 3 star hotel. Very funny menu of pillows where you can choose between foam rubber and sintepon. The furniture looks like from Ikea. The whole attempt to bring the hotel to 5 stars with the help of cheap art seems pathetic. You can’t price it 800€ per night. Sorry, never will back.

Beautiful location, kind staff, very clean.

Room was too small for the price. Minuscule bathroom with no place to put our items. Bistrot restaurant was disappointing. We did not try the other restaurant.

Perfect location. Staff was very friendly. Everything was very comfortable

Everything was great but if I had to say anything negative it was that there should be a little bit more privacy between the terraces - when we were on the couch outside we were basically sitting next to the neighbors rather than having some privacy with plants. Also the beach is a little too packed - and not enough service for cocktails.

Only positive comment for this hotel is beach and location.

Room, service and attitude of the staff.We were suppose to have Penthouse Suite with sea view, instead we were given room 405 there is no windows at all, is next to the service room, exit was blocked all day long, every single day with trolley's of cleaning stuff, felt like we were living on some sort of second hand "under the bridge" room. I asked even concierge Alex Cancel to do something about it, but is helped only for half day, next morning and all the following days service and garbage trolleys were back in front of the door and we had to fight our way out and in to the room every day. What a shame and disappointing experience I cant suggest to nobody.The toilet was placed in the bathroom under the roof with the angle in the way that person who is longer than 180cm must crawl to toilet and You hit Your head every time You stand up from the toilet against the roof.Place for taking shower practically impossible, only for children, not for any adult. Just tiny, tiny place where You cant wash Yourself normally.Breakfast - was impossible to get coffee during normal time(especially during weekend it took 30-40 minutes !!!), how hard it can be to put the self service coffee machine into the breakfast areaAnd I can keep writing.....

Absolutely everything, the location, level of care in so many ways, the polite and helpful staff, choice of food in the restaurant and breakfast room. Easy access to the private beach and to the promenade with its fabulous shops and bars

There was nothing to dislike

The GHA is beautifully located at the waterfront with prime views onto the Alassio bay. The staff was super friendly and helped us a lot with our room. Unfortunately we lost a jacket which then was found and hopefully will be returned soon. The staff was very caring and we cannot thank them more for outstanding service.

We always like our breakfast to be special. Start your day right! And given the fact that the restaurant is outstanding we would have hoped for something special / or a signature dish on the menu.

Location was perfect, staff very helpful and friendly, food tasty and good, beach setup great. Very dog friendly

I missed more fruits for breakfast, the price for cocktails were over the top 25.00 euro

Fantastic hotel and resort, the SPA is great, room is very spacious and clean. Pillow was a bit too hard but was promptly swapped with a much softer one by the staff. Staff is extremely helpful and polite. Breakfast is super, as well!

It’s certainly pricy as far as hotels in Alassio go but we think it was worth it, especially if you make extensive use of the SPA facilities as we did.

Wow SPA,Hot, 34C salt water pool over 20m, with inside 4 stands of laying jets, 3 over head streams on your back, head - supper massage,1 tunnel inside the pool with streams.Excellent treatment to your body, all these is included in the price.Besides other room treatments with payment.

Hide and seekThis waterfront hotel in the seaside town of Alassio is extremelywell-staffed and equipped, it also has a very generously furnished spa/health therapy centre.However

The main entrance to the hotel has two small (hotel name)brass plaques, one on either side of the relatively small revolving door ……..both obscured by large plants.The external carpet is embroidered with ‘Riviera Delle Palme Talassio Collection’ and neither the hidden plaques nor the carpet are good indicators as to where the hotel was hiding.For a stressed first time visitor arriving by car and having spent many hours in badly managed roadwork queues, the lack of signs and clear indications were not conducive to a smooth arrival.Children had been allowed to use the main spa pool in the afternoon (mornings they’re allowed in) bringing with them a cacophony of noise and a traffic jam at the most popular water jets thereby making the area into a large, unnecessary and unwanted kindergarten.The masseuse managed to arrive unacceptably late for a pre-booked massage by which time I had returned to base ………….. the head concierge was commendable for his apologies and efforts to reschedule but tardiness at this level is not professional nor indicative of the hotel’s standards.

The best location in Alassio. The hotel has its own beach with sunbeds free of charge.Amazing breakfast. And the staff was impeccable.Definitely would return.

A bit noisy in the hallway during the day from the housekeeping.

The staff is very helpful and kind, the service is overallgood.The best part of the hotel is certainly the beach club which is great.Breakfast is ok.Room is comfortable.

Overall the hotel is not worth the price tag or would at least deserve to be refreshed. Then there are two situations that we didn’t appreciate:1. We were given the room for disabled people. As per se the room was still fine but we don’t feel comfortable with the idea of occupying a room that is suited for someone who actually needs it. And of course the bathroom was not as comfortable as a regular bathroom. This is of course not the end of the world especially if you consider that you anyway don’t go to Alassio to stay in your bedroom but stillannoying considering, once again, the price tag. What made the situation worse is that beach club confessed that we were supposed to be in another room and that they had changed the rooms apparently last minute. We were supposed to be on a room on the 3rd floor and ended being in a room on the ground floor. Not happy with this treatment.2. The fraud attempt. I still don’t understand whose at fault here because both Booking.com and the hotel are blaming each other for the issue. Fact remains that a fraudster had access to my personal details and now has my phone number (hopefully only that..). Not happy at all with this as well.
