    Pros +

    • Good pool and sauna area. Free parking.
    • The pool and spa was awesome The room was nice and comfortable
    • It’s a time warp of a hotel. We were made to feel comfortable from the first minute we arrived. Food good and staff exceptional. We will return if the second pool is refurbished.

    Cons -

    • Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Unprofessional StaffOur recent stay at this hotel was very disappointing, primarily due to the extremely unprofessional and outdated staff. Upon arrival, we noticed that most of the staff were elderly and seemed untrained in hospitality standards, except for one young woman at reception who was helpful and professional. The pool had outdated and restrictive rules — swimming caps were mandatory, and it closed at 8 PM. The average age of guests appeared to be over 75+, many using walkers, which may not be ideal for younger families seeking a relaxing stay. While our room was satisfactory, the hotel is located far from the city center. The breakfast was subpar, offering a very limited selection — mostly salami and eggs, comparable to a 2-star hotel.A particularly upsetting incident occurred when my 3-year-old son picked up a small metal table number sign at breakfast to play with. Instead of handling the situation politely, the general manager aggressively confronted my wife and even threatened to call the police. No apology was offered, which was shocking. The following morning, I witnessed a 70-year-old guest crying at reception. When I asked what had happened, she said the elderly receptionist shouted at her for knocking on the wrong door while looking for the massage therapist. The massage service was equally disappointing. The therapist appeared unqualified, simply applying oil without any actual technique. Both my wife and another guest expressed the same dissatisfaction.Even accessing the gym was inconvenient. Guests must pick up a physical key at the front desk and declare how long they plan to stay, rather than using the room key for access — something quite unusual for modern hotels. We’ve stayed at many hotels in Abano Terme, but unfortunately, this was by far the worst in terms of staff behavior and outdated procedures.
    • The fact that they make you to wear a shower cap in the pool is ridiculous! The staff could hardly speak English!
    • My only criticism is that whereas the thermal pool is excellent with temperatures of 35 c the other pool is becoming aged with tiles falling off and a max of three strokes before you hit underwater steps which makes it unusable. It should be refurbished to a useable swimming pool as in other nearby hotels.

The hotel is very clean, with comfortable beds. In a quiet area - the rooms overlook the pools and fields. The pool and spa area is lovely - clean and spacious with ample sun loungers.

Decor is very dated (although well maintained). The breakfast needs improvement - mediocre coffee from a machine, watered down juices and stale bread on occasions. Reception procedure is also very dated. We were not happy at being asked to leave our passports with reception until the next morning when we checked in (and when I went to request our passports back, I saw that they had been placed in an open box on the reception counter, within easy reach of any passer by!)

The pool, spa, and massage treatments were fabulous . I highly recommend their spa treatments and massage therapists. Very relaxing and listened to my needs.

Best were hard and had to request needs for comfortable stay many times. Everything was provided, but took several trips to the desk throughout the stay.

The Pools and Spa were very nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had several beauty treatments and they were great.

The only thing I would have liked better was if the room and hotel were a bit more updated, if it was more modern designed. It seemed to be stuck in an 80-ies chique era.

Room 514 (mini suite) is comfortable, sparkly clean, with AC (a must on italian summer days).Recrption and other hotel staff are very polite, atentives and alwsys willing to help.Reception povided good advices and map for exploring the village an Padova.Location in proximity to the village shop centers (5 minute walk).Food is very good. Buffe BreakfastAnd Dinner is good with many selections. HB main portion is very tasty.A very nice land scape and pools areaFree parking. partialy with cover is a big advantage.

Termal water at 30 Celcius were more like a Normal bathing pool, we ecpected more high temp termal water in a designsted pool/s.Charge for Bathrobe and pool towals, Athough Hotel provided an explanation, we find it not apropiate. For travellees like this type of termal water. the Hotel is Highly recomended.

The service from the staff at Astoria was amazing. Every time we came down to the reception and had questions regarding bus and train times, they always stopped what they were doing and helped us with a smile. In the dining area around breakfast the service continued where the waiters always met you with a smile and asked what kind of coffee we would like. We would like to thank the sweet staff for making our stay as comfortable and relaxing as it was. The location is very good: they have a crop field as a neighbor which gave a sense of privacy and space. We loved the pool area, where there were plenty of sun chairs, and where they both have a normal pool and a thermal pool. If you don't want to stay at the pool side all the time, the hotel have a cosy garden where there were plenty of places in the shade. The hotel lend bikes for free, which is perfect if you wan't to explore Abano and surrounding areas. The hotel was also very clean. Each day a maid came and cleaned and tidied our room, which was super nice to return to.

From a scandinavian standard, breakfast could have been better. But on day 2 I started realizing that the breakfast indeed did offer a variety of special foods, such as cheese and meats. So I ended up really liking the breakfast.

    - The staff are very polite and professional- Rooms are clean - Sauna and swimming pools were exceptional

To begin with, we booked a half-board. Breakfast was very good and so were the staffs. However, the dinner was disappointing. The meat that was served during the dinner was swimming in oil and the dessert we had was awful. Nevertheless, we had a very bad stomachache and diarrhea after eating the dinner on our first night. Therefore, we decided to eat elsewhere during the rest of our stay.
