Mercure Pontianak Hotel

The staff were welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the facilities were well-maintained. Breakfast had a good variety with fresh options and friendly service — perfect start to the day. Great central location, close to shops, cafes, and main attractions, making it easy for our family to get around.

The room could have been a little quieter at night, but overall it didn’t affect our comfort. A few more child-friendly options at breakfast.

the staffs are very friendly

1. there were several nights where they had events by the pool for hours until late. it was incredibly loud and disturbing. they did not need to broadcast to the entire hotel, and it did not quiet down after i called the reception to ask them to turn down the volume. a hotel should not host loud events when at least half of the hotel can hear it.2. the rooms are pretty run down. there are molds in the shower, and the surfaces are pretty dusty. there staffs also forgot to clean my floor when they did room service. the rooms smell like burns, and the power went off way too frequently.3. i had the worst massage ever. the masseuse was not skilled or professional. lots of pinching, squeezing, and stroking that are unskilled. the sheets also felt like they haven’t been cleaned for a while. the lotion they used also looked like it’s been sitting there for ages — the oil and lotion are separated, very gross. there’s a lot of feedback i can give, but most importantly, because she didn’t know what she was doing she caused pain that may lead to injury. do not get a massage here. it’s also incredibly overpriced, and you’re definitely not getting the bang for the buck in any sense.

When checked in, got old room, after heavy rain, water came from the window and cause flooding at the corner of the room and found 2 cockroach in the room.

Breakfast was okay - lacked juices, good cereals and yoghurt. Culturally it was suitable for Indonesian people and not many tourists visit this city. Convenient location and the staff were helpful.

We asked to change rooms because the air conditioner was recycling smoke from the smoking rooms. The air quality was much better down a level.

Junior Suite - this is a Mercure property and meets all the expectations of the hotel chain - large, clean and modern rooms - dining and breakfast were exceptional (and culturally diverse) - if you have the misfortune to find yourself in Pontianak, then staying at this hotel is a small respite from the drudgery of the town !!

I loved everything!Especially its strategic position and the cleanliness of the room. Furthermore, in the lobby it's possible to sit comfortably and relax while sipping a fresh drink.

Staff were polite and helpful

We had requested quiet rooms, but the room was very noisy, each nights we stayed there. Loud music was playing sometimes at 3 am. Next time I would like a confirmation from the hotel that the room would be quiet as requested.

The location

Room ok could do with a refresh. shower head needs replacing, toaster in restaurant not working for 2 days and the staff knew it was broken but didn't inform the guest. Confusing during checkout, good for the domestic guest, not for the international tourist.

The hotel is convenient situated in the heart of Pontianak City Centre. Just 3 mins walk to Ayani Mega Mall for foods, shopping and other essentials. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, spectacular Indonesian Hospitality. The room is spacious provided with full amenities, very clean and various TV channels in HD (domestic & international). The hotel also provide live coverage of FIFA World Cup.

The WIFI connection was a bit unstable.

Extremely accommodating and friendly staff. I love the support for the environment through refillable shampoo and water fountain.

Rooms are very tired and in need of renovation, mold in the bathroom, noisy road noise (on main road), inefficient front desk staff

The hotel is in key location close to Ayani Megamall and tourist attractions such as Monument of Eleven Digulists and Museum of Kalimantan Barat. It was probably the only place in Pontianak with a sidewalk to walk on, otherwise you need to go on the streets. The bed was one of the best I even slept on, and you can refill your water bottle at the hallway any time you need. The place also consisted refrigerator and teapot. The shower had a lot of space to comfortable clean yourself, and the water adjustment was perfect, so you could always have the best temperature for you. The toilet was comfortable and had built up bidet. The AC in the room was also really good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, most of them speak at least basic English, so there were no problem with communicating.

The walls were quite thin so you could hear everything what was going on in the hallway as well the 2 rooms next to you, I came during one of the holidays in Indonesia, so there were a lot of children screaming, and unfortunately the thin walls did not help to mitigate the sound. From windows till 1am in most of days you could hear music playing, which mostly was fine with me, but some people might not be happy with that. The second thing, the corners of the room as well as under bed were not clean, there were a lot of dust so it had to be not cleaned for months. The dust from the corners during the day spread it to the rest of the room floor and tables, which was not so ideal, after few days since no cleaner tried to clean it, I just took wet tissues and cleaned it myself in half an hours, so not really big of a deal. I just advice the hotel to pay attention to those corners. I think the price is a bit too high considering the walls are so thin though, but I did see a lot of people in the hotel, and there are not many of hotels in Pontianak, so maybe it is fine.

Location

There's non stop leaking in the bathroom. Even I was Accor member they gave a not for sale room. Its a pity to have this experience.

Overall, the room where I stayed was very comfortable: clean, no foul smell, and noises from outside was barely audible.

I checked myself in quite early at 2 PM and had to wait for 90 minutes before the room is ready.
