Beautiful, quiet room, great location, lovely hotel. Has space to store bikes and wonderful breakfast.

Location just a short walk from restaurants and tge town centre

Limited reception hours, though in practical terms that was no problem

Close to Saumur Castle which is within walking distance and to old town. Basic "continental breakfast" with breads, cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt and hot drinks and no hot dishes.

No lift so we had to haul bags up 2 winding staircases, which is not for the weak or fainthearted. The hotel in Saumur is also distant from the train station, so be prepared for a long walk of about 25 minutes healing bags or hire a taxi for transport. We took a cab in from the train station and walked back when we left, so we know from experience. Was told by email that front desk would be open until 8 PM, and took a cab with the receipt showing we arrived at 7:23 PM, but the front desk was already closed. Although an email was sent at 5:30 PM, I did not have internet access so, never got the message and the access code. It's a good thing the taxi driver came to our rescue to call and get the access code. That was not a good start, after traveling by train for 9 hours.David was helpful and spoke very good English.

Friendly, helpful staff at Reception. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.

Long way up to the top floor and the room there was very small and only had a Velux window, so we were hot in the night.

Central location;clean and comfortable.

Great location at a reasonable price Quiet, good sized room and bathroom. Toiletries provided. Friendly staff. Nice communal areas. Fan provided in room. Nice blackout blinds.

Although there was a shower hose on the bath tap there was nowhere to hang the shower head so it made it tricky having a shower. Husband slipped getting out too

Location, parking, staff and rooms were all very good and value for money.

I don't remember seeing air con in the room, it wasn't an issue when we stayed (early May), but it may be an issue for some people later in the summer or autumn.

It was exactly as I thought. It was a clean but basic hotel with easy access to motorways.

Next time I probably would book a hotel nearer the port but that would have made car parking more difficult and it would have been a lot more expensive. It was easy to get a bus to the port but more difficult in the evening returning to the hotel when I needed to take a taxi.

Cheap hotel near the town centre. Helpful staff, basic but functional second floor room in an old building. Public on street parking available and a respectable buffet breakfast included.

'Spiral' staircase to the second floor is awkward to navigate, especially if carrying luggage. However, it's an old, converted building that was probably erected before Building Regulations were invented in France.

The room was a good size with a good view. The breakfast was fair for the price. The location was very good, within easy walking distance of the city centre.

The hotel was very tired, the bathroom in particular was dated. Towels were frayed and the heater in the bathroom rusty. When booking I requested a hotel with parking…there was none at the hotel, the parking was on the street and if you wanted to be close to the hotel, you had to pay at the meter. The stairs were steep and narrow.

Good example of small French hotel in good location close to shops/restaurants etc. Staff very helpful with our luggage as we were on the second floor as no lift available.

Our room was clean and comfortable but it was not the room shown on Booking.com as a larger room with more traditional style than the one we occupied. I noticed the room as shown did exist across the corridor from ours. I was a little disappointed but this did not detract from the excellent time we enjoyed in Saumur.
