Hotel Alte Werft

The hotel was kind enough to give me a room with a canal view, even though I hadn’t booked one of the higher-end options, which I really appreciated. The location was great - within walking distance of the train station, supermarkets, and some good restaurants. Breakfast had a nice variety, and everything was fresh. I also liked that the hotel makes an effort to be more sustainable and encourages guests to do the same. It’s a small thing, but it stood out in a good way.

Nice comfortable room with all we needed, nice surroundings - satisfaction.

Nothing serious. May be more parking places closer to the entrance, not let the lights from the entrance shine all the night, because it lighten the opposite rooms too much - but all these things are not big problems, the stay was ok for us.

Personel was very kind and helpful, possibility to speak English. Delicious food served in the restaurant.

Wireless connection to the network was not sufficient to use for video conversation.Could be that my room was a bit too far from the signal or it was hardware problem in my computer.

Wonderful hotel surrounded by beautiful surroundings. Very nice people both at the reception and in the restaurant. Very spacious rooms. We will definitely choose this accommodation again on our next visit to Papenburg. Everything absolutely perfect!

It’s the old shipbuilding property. It was cool to see all of the history of the building and area. It was in a great location and was easy to walk to shops and restaurants.

Superb hotel. Great location in Papenburg. The restaurant and bar is really interesting. Wonderful food. Free on-site parking for my motorcycle. Will return one day with my wife. Throughly recommend it.

Location was excellent. Interesting history.

The room was stincy, like moldy. I would not stay in this room longer than a night. I could not check in at 1400, a hour before official time, even the hotel was not full.

No ordinary hotel, great option for those working in shipbuilding industry with a possibility to rent a conference hall and have a business dinner.

The breakfast was very good and plenty of selection. The room was good size with nice view and bathroom was okay. I did not try the restaurant.

The room was a bit too old to my liking. I think hotels should frequently renovate the rooms to modern standards. The staff was too young and did not seem to have knowledge of the area.

Everything was great. Hotel design is modern and beautiful. Extremely friendly personnel. 5 minutes walking to railway station and main town streets

Interesting surroundings, modernly furnished rooms, quiet and clean rooms, nice bathroom, good breakfast. Big free parking.

Good proximity to the city center where the shops and the restaurants are located. Amenity such as shampoo, rinse, body lotion, coffee makers are provided in the room. The variety of the breakfast buffet is excellent.

No bathrobe and safe box in the room.
