About
An old flour factory dating from the year 1827 was totally renovated, and now offers all the amenities and comfort of a modern hotel. The cozy rooms, mixing traditional elements with design details, all have a small living area and views of the natural surroundings of the “Desfiladero de los Gaitanes” – a beautiful gorge. Some of the rooms have two floors, making use of the enormous interior height of the old building.

Pros +
- Perfect hotel for a short stay combined with visiting Caminito del Rey, and some swimming in the pool. Ideal to arrive by train on the opposite side of the street.
- Great place to go to Caminito del Rey. Just take the shuttle and walk the route, it ends at your hotel.View is beautiful, and there is a lovely pool (was too cold when we were there)
- The room was very nice, very spacious and right next to the starting point for the Caminito del Rey. We got in late but were able to park across the street. Great spot to leave from the next morning.
Cons -
- The check in time on Booking says that check in goes until midnight, but we were texted on What's App by the front desk staff at 8:00 pm to see when we would be arriving. We didn't see it because we were using the phone for navigation and the desk person seemed a little put out with us when we arrived at 10:00ish. She said she was only staying another half an hour. The room was very nice and spacious. It was a larger room. I was staying with my SIL. It was slightly awkward when we realized it was likely a honeymoon suite - complete with windows right into the bathroom and shower. We put up some pillows to get a little privacy.
- Spiral staircase in our duplex was challenging. Couldn't get our bags upstairs and would be nice to have a sink downstairs
- The experience with the staff was a mixed one. Some are very welcoming and helpful, others just are not, to say the least, be it during meals in the restaurant, be it in reception. In the room... the soap and champoo was given in small balloons, made to limit you to use one per day. That is something when you're in vacation you don't want to think about... and I bet they are hardly saving the world with it. It is specially hard since its located near trails like Caminito del Rey, and others, and it was Summer.... They also had a big problem with wasps in the terrace, that once the food came to the table during breakfast or dinner, they would flock to our plates.

Location - excellent for walking the Camino del Rey.Staff friendly. Alberto on reception particularly helpful.Clean, comfortable room and good restaurant

We liked the Pools, and the room's design, and the sunset views over the river.

The accommodation and the location was amazing. The pool and the view was spectacular. The restaurant was great.
The staff could have been more helpful and friendlier.
The facilities and staff were wonderful, very accommodating and welcoming. The location is the best especially if you're ending the Caminito Del Rey trail then it is the best place to come back to right at the end of the route.
The restaurant communication could have been a little better, some things we ordered were forgotten, had to be repeated, but it was a minor issue.
Great location to visit Caminito del Rey. Staff was very frendly, hotel is clean and cozy. The view is fantastic! Pool was very good, refreshing. Free parking.

Staff excellent. Restaurant can be very busy but staff managed it well. Loved location, pool and walking down to food stalls 10 minutes away
Can’t say the room was to my liking. Avoid room with spiral stairs if you’re inclined. They aren’t easy to navigate. Probably opt for room with poolside view.
The room, location, and restaurant were all terrific. There were lots of private and common spaces where you could relax. It was the ideal location to do the caminito del rey. The restaurant had wonderful food and very kind and responsive staff.
The bathroom was lovely to look at but not really functional. The mirror lighting was too dim to see what you were doing. The shower flooded the floor. The doors to the bathroom offered no privacy.
Incredible old flour mill, great views from all areas, really is a must stay at the end of the Caminito Del Rey. The main south bus stop is across the road. Staff were lovely and food was very good.
There is nothing to dislike
Amazing location. Room fantastic facilities. Pool lovely. Terrace bar restaurant all with fabulous views.
The locationExcellent for cominito del rey tour.
On arrival we were told that our room was different and was an upgrade. When we arrived in the room it did not have a bath or mini bar, which was stated in the room I had booked. We did not complain as the room was still nice.As we only know limited Spanish then we felt our point would have been missed. As the hotel boasts its excellence we would have expected better quality toiletries in the bathroom. The pods for shower etc are very basic. The shower head had dried tissue paper hanging from it. The restaurant staff were unhelpful. All tables alongside view point were reserved from 6pm in both restaurant facilities, even though parties did not arrive before 9pm.We had to seat ourselves, look up menu online and try to communicate in limited Spanish as we are English speaking. Our table had no table cloth and staff did not set the table even after we had ordered our main meal. Unfortunately it seems that you need to speak fluent Spanish to have a good experience.
Well located for hiking cycling etc, clean and tidy but a little dates, staff in restaurant lovely food really good.
This is a great hotel in El Chorro, close to the train station and buses for the El Caminito del Rey. The rooms are quirky, 2 storey with a sitting area downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Small and compact but well equipped with a fridge and a kettle. The hotel itself is spacious with a bar, dining room, outside seating area and pool.
Absolutely loved this beautiful apart/hotel. Views were stunning, staff were so lovely & helpful and the restaurant food delicious & reasonably priced. Would return in a heartbeat.
Loved everything ❤️
Quirky and spacious. Was so nice to have a sitting room and private patio. Onsite dining was good. Outside patio and pool looked terrific but was too cold to use. The region is beautiful.
It’s not that I didn’t like staying there but overall it’s limited. The location is at the end of the Caminito Del Rey trail which I didn’t realize. Not much else nearby for dining. We could hear snoring thru the walls. Bathroom smelled like sewer gas but was tolerable. The location seems to command a higher price than other places we stayed at in Southern Spain. Not sure the value is all there. Seemed like a major effort if you wanted to leave and find hikes or other things to do. Perfect if you want to chill after the Caminito.
The views from the terrace are stunning! The location is really handy if travelling by train or for the bus to El Caminito Del Rey.
Great location, bus stop is at the door, convenient for early morning start of hiking. We had lunch at the restaurant, it was excellent.
The shampoo and shower gel are somewhat hard to use.
Best location for visiting Caminito Del Rey. The room was cute with 3 floors. Nice restaurant on location.
