- We really enjoyed our stay here! We loved checking in with the help of Lucky, the funny little poodle. The staff was very friendly, and our room was very nice as well. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!
- Comfortable and clean place. The staff were excellent, polite and actually seemed happy to be there.
- The hotel is beautiful and well-located with easy access to Freudenstadt and beyond. The terrace room was great and a beautiful view to wake up to in the morning. We didn't get to use many of the facilities, but they looked nice. Parking was easy. Breakfast was very nice. The staff, some were great, and some were still learning...
Cons -
- The pillows were a bit different in shape, which was fine; just not what I’m used to.
- The road leading to the city from this place does not have a walking path so if you would like to walk to town you would need to walk on the road with 70kmph speed limit.
- We were arriving late, after 10p with flight delays, driving in from Frankfurt. No one was available to talk to on the phone after 8pm. We called relentlessly and even had Booking.com step in to assist. Booking couldn't reach them either. It was a nerve-wracking experience to keep driving not knowing if we'd be able to check in once we got there.. with no other reservations somewhere else. The restaurant staff was "in the weeds" it was almost comical during dinner service but you could tell a lot of patrons weren't happy. The front desk needs work. But overall, it didn't ruin the stay.

Nice area- property is big and has many seating areas inside and out.Dinner was great. Breakfast offered a lot of different items. The reception area was inviting and the reception desk made out of a log was so beautiful!
The decor was a bit confusing. Between ultra modern and old German. There were Cobra snake lamps- deer- elephants- and other animals.African vibe and German vibe mixed . Everything was clean, spacious and well kept!
Room was immaculate, the furniture inside the rooms was very classy and it gave the room an expensive feel
Lovely location on the edge of town with a nice open park adjacent to the hotel, handy if you've got a dog and need some green space around. Our room had a great balcony, which gave extra space and allowed us to open up the doors and enjoy the fresh air. Must say, the restaurant is superb, really excellent staff both at dinner and breakfast, and we couldn't fault the food. Very good. Brilliant location for not only visiting Freudenstadt (which is lovely) but as a base for drives along the stunning 500 route and stop offs in the Black Forest National Park.
Really friendly staff. They made a suprise to my husband in breakfast in his birthday. We really impressed
Spa was fully booked already. There is no AC, therefore temperature control is hard. The rooms lightning is not enough. Bathrobes are not free(and not changing during room service)There is nobody to contact in spa. The pool was small.
Bar and staff
Very cold in the rooms, no soap in the bathroom, no slippers, breakfast was 5/10
Very large room, nice quiet location. Lovely breakfast. Staff all really friendly. Very dog friendly, can even sit in a different part of the restaurant with your dog. Close to town, taxi (they allow dogs aswell) or 20 minute walk. Plenty of car parking. Spa facilities although we didn’t use them (wish we brought our swimming things but we forgot). Everyone was so nice and made a big fuss of our dog, nothing was to much for them. Thank you!
Only thing is the first night the restaurant was closed due to an event. It would have been nice to it been informed when booking. It all worked out well anyway as the lovely lady in reception booked us a taxi (which allowed dogs) so we went into the town for some food instead. Then we called the taxi company again and they took us all back.
This hotel is a bit like a lodge and spa located at the outskirts of Freudenstadt, in the Black Forest region. We chose it as a home base from which we explored the Black Forest by car. Our room was standard, with two chairs, nice bathroom, and a balcony terrace. There’s an indoor pool and spa that we didn’t have the time to enjoy. Breakfast choices were many and were offered in the large restaurant dining room. A comfortable attractive hotel with on-site parking.
We wish there were more comfortable chairs in the room.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I have experienced in a European hotel. The restaurant was yummy. Everything from cake to venison goulash was very good.
The wellness area was not renovated and as that was the purpose of our visit, it was a bit disappointing. The pool area is lovely and we very much enjoyed that, but the sauna, infrared cabin and steam room are outdated and not very nice. The outdoor area is not welcoming (employee smoking outside etc).
Lovely room with a very comfortable bed. The restaurant for dinner served excellent meals. Close to town and Black Forest walks.
Nice view from our room/balcony overseeing the forest. Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice and good quality ingredients. Also there’s a nice bar with good selection of local beers etc.
The rooms and certain parts of the hotel were quite outdated. We also had an issue trying to get back into the hotel late at night (after a wedding) where it took us a while to find the night entrance, and once we did, to get back to the section of the building where our room was. Not enough information was shared with us in advance and there wasn’t enough signage. When we shared this with staff the reaction was dismissive. The pool/spa area is quite small, the photos make it look much nicer than it is. You are also asked to pay extra for pool towels, which makes no sense at this price level. Also, our room’s bathroom window was opening into the communal terrace area, meaning there would be smokers in front of it all the time.
Nice hotel and room very clean comfortable bed and nice pillows.Food good but a little slow being served first night in restaurant.Breakfast good Parking nearby. Nice area.
Nothing. Just bit slow food service one night.
İt is like: Hello , have a good day, can i ask a questionAnswer. Yes what
Didnt show the room, didnt tell us what do to doDidnt tell us what is going onNot at allYou pay and you go sleep
Safe underground parking for our motorbikeStunning large bedroomVery comfortable and large bedGreat bedside lampsLovely wardrobesLarge balconyLovely large bathroomGreat breakfast selection in amazingly decorated dining roomLovely peaceful and clean swimming pool and saunaWe have stayed in 9 hotels these past 9 nights and this room was definitely the best!
The communal areas around the stairs were somewhat dated and didn’t fit with how spectacular the bedroom and restaurant were, although that’s not really enough to put us off. According to Booking.com the restaurant was open, but when we arrived, soaking wet, cold and hungry, after a day on a bike in the rain, we were told the restaurant was closed that day. By the time we’d got showered and changed and headed to reception to find out about booking a taxi into town, we found it was locked up and no one was there so we got nothing to eat until morning ? It also stated on the hotel’s own website that the restaurant is open every day. Perhaps this should be updated. We wouldn’t have booked to stay here if we’d known we wouldn’t have been able to get any dinner, which is a shame as it’s such a lovely hotel.
Nice hotel with large, comfortable, and very clean rooms. A bit outside the city, so it was quite and surrounded by green. Breakfast was good with a nice variety. The indoor pool was open for long hours, so even if we got back late-ish we still had time for it
We were during a short heat wave, and the rooms have no A/C so it got a bit hot during the night. Even a ceiling fan would have been enough. To get from the lobby to the rooms you either have to go outside to another entrance, or go down to the pool level, then back up... A bit strange...
Everything you need in one location - a very good restaurant, wellness area and of course, a hotel :)Many vegan options. When asked prior to the stay, they also prepared a vegan platter which I really appreciated
The interior was partly high quality and really nice, some decoration was too kitschy and did not fit the overall design of the hotel. I think there can be some improvements made here.
Very kind and welcoming staff. The room and facilities were immaculate and spotless. The bed was comfy. We can only recommend this hotel—good starting point for excursions. The breakfast buffet was nice and we enjoyed a lovely dinner (a la carte) at the terrasse.
It would be nice to have a smart TV- for English-speaking/ foreign customers. Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights, so it didn't really bother us.
The exterior doesn’t look it but the inside of the hotel is very nice, new, pretty, comfortable, warm. Staff are helpful. The value for money is excellent for the room. We had dinner at the hotel so that made the whole thing pricier but prices for food seem quite standard compared to other restaurants. Good pool; good sauna. Comfortable beds. Would definitively come back.
