Wonderful hotel and restaurant in a beautiful small town in the Black Forest! Not touristy. Great hiking. And of course, great beer.

Breakfast is a bit scarce for the price and the hotel has seen better days.

Excellent location near forest trails… only a short walk to a fantastic viewing platform with beautiful views. Friendly host who welcomed us (once neighbours had spotted us trying to get in). Secure bike parking. Great view from balcony to forest and very comfortable balcony furniture.

Arrived during advertised check in time but note and key left and not a personal welcome. Dated bathroom and needed a little bit better clean (eg sticky floor). Curtain not wide enough to reach across window so very light in morning…. But we then found the strap for the shutter that we had missed the night before.Unfortunately restaurant closed during our stay and only other restaurant we could find in town was really not good on our visit.

Everything was wonderful. The room, the reception, the staff, the place itself. We have nothing to complain about. We also had our 2 dogs with us ? We really love that area, Kniebis and we try to get there often. The restaurant is very well thought and the food was delicious. There were enough parking spaces. The hotel has also a garden that I didn't see, but my boyfriend was there and he said it's beautiful. The communication via emails was fast and kind. We'll definitely come again.

We were running late, but our hosts were very accommodating, providing a lovely meal despite the hour. Located at the southern end of the Black Forest, very convenient for us touring by motorcycle. Good walks starting from here. Very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast too. Our hosts kind and attentive, we would happily recommend this property.

Food really good. Room good. Owner very flexible and accommodating.

The only thing missing was a kettle in the room to make coffee for early risers like me. Didn't have to wait til breakfast time to get coffee though, because owner told me about a cappuccino shop a few blocks away which had great coffee.

This is a classic inn, with nicely-furnished, clean rooms and a comfortable dining room and sitting area. There are also outdoor tables and a garden that we didn’t get to take advantage of due to the weather.

The only thing we didn’t like was that we couldn’t stay longer.

Family room was spacious, convenient and tidy.

Much too expensive overall, and especially breakfast - surprisingly poor, limited selection and not replenished (e.g. sausages), not possible even to order an omelette or scrambled egg, you can boil your eggs yourself instead.
