    Location, menu, room

The hotel is showing its age, but it is only a 2cstar hotel

We loved staying in this unique hotel in downtown Antequera. The staff is lovely, and it is so nice to have a restaurant in the facilities. We were given a room overlooking the street, and... because it is Semana Santa. I got to see a procession go past our balcony. Sadly, the weather was not warm enough to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by from the balcony.

Some folks complained about the noise, and it did get a little noisy when the parade was forced inside the restaurant because of rain, we shut the windows, and it was fine.

The Hotel is very pretty decor, spacious, lounge areas areas outside room, the restaurant sold great food, bar on site, and easy garage parking for our motorbikes, staff very friendly and helpful and was able also to communicate in English which was a nice change

There was nothing to not like

Central location and garage for car parking. Lively local bar. Friendly staff.

The staff and the bar were excellent.Super food and so well organized a very busy popular place.Loved it There were extra blankets and pillows which were needed .

The Aircon didn't work well. The shower cubical needed attention as did the shower itself. Also the water took a long time to get warm which is a terrible waste of water .Also no plug In the wash basin again a terrible waste of water The hotel is a little tired. But like I said the staff were fabulous and made up for the short comings Could do with a mirror in the room too

Typical old town Spanish hotel with character. Very friendly staff and fantastic bar/restaurant downstairs.

    10AngellaPosted on: 3-10-2025

Spain was hit by a massive rain storm for several days, but the facilities in the hotel - restaurant/bar - were so good we were happy when we had to stay in and read. The food especially was really good and the staff were great.

    Having to leave.

Location is good and there is a cafeteria at the premises

It’s super loud. During the night you can hear absolutely EVERYTHING - noises from the cafeteria, people walking on the corridor, water running from the nearby rooms. It makes it nearly impossible to sleep without earplugs

Home away from home. A bit old fashioned, so very much to our likings. Great food, delivered with a smile. And we could watch the match at the same time. Great place to hang after the day at El Torcal.

Excellent value in the center of a lovely town, not fancy but clean and comfortable and affordable; our streetfront room was especially nice. Welcoming service and nice extra touches when we had evening tapas there. We chose to return the next week.

It was in a good central position with a very nice bar/restaurant. There was also private parking close by.

The noisy toilets. Must have been something to do with the plumbing because every time anyone used the toilet a loud booming sound rang out - a bit like a rocket taking off!

Great location, friendly, helpful staff.Accommodation basic but clean and functional.Food very good.Prices good.

Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. No parking on site, nearest car park cost €18 for overnight stay.

Location is central to everything in town. It was quiet at night although the hotel is located on a main street. The staff are responsive and helpful. Staff were able to check us in before official check-in time, which is appreciated. There is a charming sitting area outside our room. Layout of room is good. Daily housekeeping without special request is nice. We did not use it, but I like that there is a restaurant attached to the hotel for all 3 meals. Very good value for price charged.

The big thing is lack of hot water for showering. The staff alerted us that there is a delay in the hot water. That is true - about 4 showers worth! I felt like a criminal wasting all that water in a drought area! The water isn't lukewarm-cold, like it might be if heated in a tank on the roof - it is icy cold. When it finally does get hot it lasts about 2 minutes before getting icy cold again. So rinse, turn it off, soap up and turn on to rinse off. This is the case whether you shower morning or night. Since there is no heat in the bathroom showering was a cold exercise. My stay was in January, so this would be less of a problem in warmer weather presumably.

Great location - only few metres to the centro - cleaness in the room - nice small restaurant with loads of locals ...

the room was a little bit tiny, looks bigger on the picture - doubled bed was small - the pillows was hard - no balcony as on the picture when were booked - a lots of noice from a machine until 12 at night and start again at 6 in the morning :-(We expected the streets noice from traffic ...

It's a delightfully authentic Spanish bar/cafe/ hotel. No English spoken or heard, but staff and locals were really welcoming and helpful. Fabulous strong cafe con leche for just €1.50

    Important info

In Spain, if you own a place for tourists to stay, you have to keep a record of who stays there. It’s a rule that’s not widely known. This record needs to be shared with the authorities, like the Civil Guard, to ensure public safety. The traveler registration form must be filled in at check-in with the details of guests aged 16 and over. The registration form must be sent to the authorities within 24 hours of the arrival or departure of the guests. And also, the travel registrations must be registered by the host in a travel register book, which can be in physical or digital format, with a minimum of 100 pages and a maximum of 500 pages.
