    Pros +

    • Very nice location and wellness facilities. Unlimited use of the spa, including bathrobe, slippers, sauna, steam sauna, Roman baths, swimming pool and access to the Hvezda hotel which has a bigger swimming pool.Breakfast was nice although it could be improved with more fresh fruit (pineapples for example) and better bread (sourdough). It seems catered to a majority Slavic visitors (sardines, cottage cheese, compot etc).Smoked salmon would have been nice. There is sparkling wine at the breakfast :)
    • A very cozy place. We felt like visiting friends. Every staff member smiles and greets you.
    • Dinner

    Cons -

    • You cannot be a five star hotel and have a grumpy, angry Russian as a chef making eggs during the breakfast who doesn’t understand a word of English. I go to a 5 star hotel to be treated nicely, not to be yelled and mocked by a Russian old man. Some sweets waiting in the room like mini chocolate tablets would have been nice. (-2 points for that)
    • Wifi
    • Old small rooms, absolutely non 5 star junior suite , small bathroom.Expansive extra pay for kid.Expensive parking SPA zone non exclusive.Non smart TV , only 1 TV per 2 rooms

Helpful and kind staff in the restaurant, good food, the hotel is clean, the building with its pools is impressive

The staff at the reception lacks politeness and kindness. It is difficult to communicate with them - the knowledge of English is not sufficient. The mattresses are uncomfortable and deformed after years of use. The wi-fi was really weak, the hairdryer was broken - my request to fix it was ignored. It’s definitely not a standard of a good hotel…

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, varied, good quality, well presented. Staff absolutely delightful, helpful, service with a smile. Marienbad is very beautiful, lots of parks with plenty of seating areas. Amazing cakes!

The spa is not as good as for example the same group’s hotel in Budapest. Small pools and the water was too cool really to relax in. A proper sized swimming pool would also help.

Wonderful trip back to the Belle Epoque. Classic spa facilities with great service.

The 1990s decor of the guest rooms feels tired

The building is beautiful and historical, specially outside. It’s clean, also the rooms are clean, and the location is central and very beautiful. The roman bath is beautiful!

Small room, poorly sound proof, got waked up but the neighbours talking, average design with no love for details (like the amenities in the bathroom for example, the design reminded of a 3 star business hotel). The building is historical but the staircase to the rooms and the hallways there look quite basic, there is generally a lack of curated details, which is such a pity, as the building is stunning and there is so much potential! The employees were not very charming, we felt like in a state-owned spa instead of a 5 stars hotel. No luxury feeling and the service was mediocre.. we stayed at another spa hotel not far from there in another spa town and had a wonderful experience and payed less. So, overall the hotel was not bad but not as 5 star hotel and not for the money.

Beautiful historic building in the middle of Marianske Lazne. Wonderful Spa area and high-quality massages and treatments. Good and varied breakfast.

Our first room was tiny with a window overlooking a graveled roof in a courtyard and traffic from the hill passing by the window. A sub-standard and not 5-star level room, far too small for two people (even for one person it was small). We could fortunately upgrade to a suite the second night which was beautiful. The pool water in the spa baths is rather cold. It would be good to have varying temperatures for the different pools (eg. medium, warm, hot), with at least one of the pools at 40 or so degrees - like thermal baths in Budapest or Ischia. Staff at the Spa towel handout was not very friendly and a bit grumpy. Breakfast reception staff was inflexible and bossy around seating choice. Only after complaining to management (who were friendly and helpful) we got a table not right in front of the entrance door.

A journey back in time to the heyday of the Bohemian spas. Wonderful ambience and very courteous multilingual staff. Excellent food.

    Nothing at all :)
