About

Nestling in Jebel Al Weibdeh, the cultural heart of Amman, La Locanda Boutique Hotel is the perfect place to unwind. Here you’ll find a warm, friendly welcome, cozy music-themed rooms. The Locanda Hotel, is one of the oldest buildings in the area. It was converted into a hotel in the early 1970’s and has been completely renovated and updated in 2015, with a conscious decision to maintain the architectural character of the building. It is the perfect mix of urban and traditional. Each room is named after a famous singer from Arabic music's Golden Era. A unique experience awaits you during each stay, as each room draws inspiration from the singer’s characteristics/lives in every detail of its furnishings and design. All rooms feature a seating area and dressing table with mirror. They all come with central heating, air conditioning and satellite TV. All of La Locanda rooms are nonsmoking La Locanda is a cultural, entertainment and hospitality landmark in Amman. Ever since we opened our doors on September 2015, La Locanda has come to be known as an energetic hub for live music events as well as dining and hospitality. We’re known for providing one of Amman’s most unique and sought after hotel and culinary experiences. As you can tell, we’re clearly more than a place to eat and sleep: we are a Hotbed for Culture. A full continental breakfast is served each morning. La Locanda Boutique Hotel is 984 feet from Abdali Bus Station, linking to various national and international destinations. The famous Roman amphitheater in downtown Amman is 15 minutes’ walking away. Private car parking is free at the hotel.

    Pros +

    • Friendly staff. Great location in the heart of Jabal Al-Weibdeh, mere minutes walk from a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs. The room itself is squeaky clean, modern, comfortable, and well stocked on amenities.
    • The place is very unique, cozy and convenient, location is in a lively area of the old city and a short ride to anywhere in Amman. The staff is very genuine and helpful, accommodating any personal preferences and requests to max. The garden breakfast area is a whole vibe on its own.
    • Excellent stay in a clean friendly personal hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

    Cons -

    • There isn't much I didn't like. But if I must think of something, I wish the water pressure in the shower was a tad bit stronger.
    • Felt lonely and not very well maintained
    • Breakfast was average. You receive basic international food, however, the fact you are surrounded by several restaurants and local food shops wouldn't make you feel that this is an issue. In fact, reception gave fantastic food recommendations for places to explore around :)

The hotel is located at the heart of Amman and is walking distance from the city center. The neighborhood itself is very picturesque and there were several restaurants/cafes around. The room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was spacious.Staff was very welcoming and friendly and gave tips about hidden gems to explore in the city. The hotel is definitely value for money!

The location was excellent! We walked everywhere - downtown, to the citadel and there are quite a few great cafes and restaurants very close to the hotel as well.

We would have preferred a double bed, rather than twin beds - but to be fair, I didn't specifically ask for a double bed.

Good location - friendly staff - noisy our night but only because other guests were having a party - would stay againParking outside was easyWonderful staff - we were 20 minutes late for breakfast but they made us coffee and an omelet ?

The owner was delightful & very welcoming. The room was spacious & beds comfy. We ate in the restaurant on the first night which was fabulous.

Breakfast was a little lacking, with service slow when the owner was not present. We waited 30 minutes for coffee & an omelette.

Good location. In a quiet street but close to an area with lots of cafes. Not to far to walk to downtown Amman, although quite a workout climbing back up the hill.

    Nothing to note.

The Themed rooms and the quite location.

There was rubbish on the floor around the entrance of the hotel.

I love staying here! All staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. Food is great, I love that a restaurant and bar are attached to the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. This hotel is a gem!

Great location, walkable to all the nearby cafes and local shops, great restaurant downstairs, ac was adjustable to your liking, very comfortable bed

Dusty and dead flies, tight bathroom, short staffed

    8JettePosted on: 4-2-2024

We have stayed almost two weeks in the hotel, it has been like our home in Amman. The rooms are very comfortable, with aircondition and good cleaning. The staff are very kind and helpful, and the manager has helped us arrange accomodation and transportation for several trips around Jordan. All worked out perfectly. We will stay here again if we return to Amman.

Wonderful room! Bright, spacious, and in a lovely part of town.

    Breakfast in a dark bar.

    5RuiPosted on: 2-25-2024

Really good location, the neighbourhood is very quiet and central, nice cafés in the area.

The room furniture is very poor. The room was frisky and the heating was not working

    8SoniaPosted on: 1-3-2024

Pleasant hotel with a nice vibe located in a great neighborhood. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant (which is closed in winter though).

The breakfast is lackluster. It is served in the very same room that functions as a bar at night, and thus smells of cold cigarette smoke.
