Pros +
- The room is big and the hotel is very well located.
- They were kind enough to let us check in earlier. And Olivier at the front desk and breakfast was amazing. We felt safe and we were really close to everything.
- The room was spacious. Comfortable beds. It was quiet. Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay.
Cons -
- The room was not clean, the TV did not work and the dishwasher was so dirty that it smelled horribly. We told the staff about it and they just said "sorry".
- Our room was on the Main Street and the noise was very loud from the cars driving on the cobblestone. I would suggest to ask for a room not on the street.
- needs at least a bottle of water in the room, very hard pillows made it very hard to sleep. Similarly there was a smell of smoke coming from the toilet in the room. otherwise a good hotel but ask to change pillow and buy water before bed, for the cost of the room water should have been included

breakfast was good, the location of the hotel is excellent and the building itself. the staff were great too.

Unfortunately on check in we found our room smelled strongly of cigarettes (107). I reported this to reception and Arthur was quick to help, finding us another room. He actually upgraded us to a very nice room (Opera on the top floor) for which we were very gratefulThe parking facilities were very handy and so close - we luckily got the last space! The approach to the hotel gives an exclusive feel, the outdoor courtyard would be a nice spot to sit in warmer months before with a cocktail! I liked the decor of the hotel. The movie theme was done well, sometimes it can be a little cheesy, but not here. It was fresh and along with the nice furnishings made for a really relaxing atmosphere.
The room we were in was lovely, one thing that could improve it though would be to add a screen, or separate cubicle, so you can use the shower properly. The floor gets wet when you wash your hair.Breakfast was a little disappointing. Most of the hot food had run out by the time we arrived and the choice of cereals was limited.
comfortable bed, easy access on ground floor, excellent location in historic city, secure underground parking very close, helpful and welcoming staff
Room with no openable windows, odd arrangement of closet toilet in separate room from sink and shower. Relatively expensive when parking & dog included.
The location is great. Very close to everything in the center. Parking was also relatively easy. The breakfast was decent and the hotel managers continued serving the breakfast although we were quite late. That was very kind.
We booked a "deluxe family room" with 1 full bed and 1 queen bed. As these features were not presented as optional, I didn't bother writing in booking that I would like to keep the 2 separate beds. But the hotel managers downgraded our room because "they assumed we were a couple and we didn't need 2 separate beds". More than that, the room they gave us was dark, cold and uncomfortable and looked nothing like the pictures. But instead of apologizing and/or offering us help or discount, they spent the whole evening and the whole morning trying to convince us everything was as it should be and that we didnt write a note in our booking that we needed all the features presented in the ad.So now thanks to these great explanations of the hotel manager, I am fully convinced of the following:- I should write a special note in all my next bookings "please dont downgrade our room, we need everything offered in the description of the room"- I am also convinced that a sofa bed is an actual bed. I will sell my real bed in my home and get a sofa bed instead- I actually dont need enough heating in the room, I will also turn it off in my home (the temperature of the room was centrally controlled by the reception and we felt a cut off between 12am and 9am)- I dont need sufficient light in a room thats very normal.- Thanks to the advice of the hotel manager now I know that I shouldn't book through the Booking. Thats also a great advice because I wouldnt be able to resolve any matters through Booking or write a review then.So I am grateful for all the explanation and advice that the hotel manager gave me.Here is one small suggestion from me: If they believe that indeed the room they gave us was the same as advertised, please put the pictures of your room 202 in the ad for your "deluxe family room" and see how many bookings you get.
Nice hotel, well located and comfortable. very good breakfast.
The lift!
Great staff, fantastic breakfast and outstanding room.Really relaxing 24 hrs Highly recommended
No negative points
Great location and excellent breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and croissants available throughout the day.
It was difficult to find the entrance of the hotel, the TV did not work.
The hotel has a hip and trendy feel and is just a short distance from the main square in Tournai, with its bell tower and many bars and restaurants. We received a warm welcome here. Our ground floor room ('Disco' - complete with disco balls!) was compact, clean and well equipped. Sleep quality wise, we did get a bit of street noise late in the evening, though not enough to significantly disturb us. Breakfast was very good, with excellent pastries. A big plus for us was being able to park our motorbike in the hotel's courtyard, which was secured overnight, by arrangement.
Nothing really, just slightly noisy in the late evening, but would expect some noise in a town centre location like this.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location and room size
Staff very efficient and helpful. Bedroom quiet but a bit gloomy.Breakfast good
The room was a nice quiet room at back iof hotel.Breakfast was nice.
The road works just outside room started early in the morning. I appreciate not hotels fault .
Thank you for having a room that allowed a dog and for the doggy goody bag which was exceptional.Very good breakfast.
The night access a bit fiddly, couldn’t easily get to car parking area when needed before breakfast due to locked gates.
Very nicely decorated, staff friendly. Hire staff provided plenty of up to date information ahead of the trip. Hotel very clean. Breakfast was varied of great quality.
I did not like the room. It was on the ground floor next to the staff room and night entrance. The windows were very small and were at street level so not convenient to open windows. It makes the room very dark. Therefore disappointed compared to the compared with the pictures of similar rooms on the website. We arrived late at night so we’re quite eager to sleep but would have liked to know about the room ahead of arrival. Think this is were improvement can be made is when a customer notifies (which I did at time of reservation) of a late arrival (beyond reception opening time) information about the room should be provided and if an alternative is available, it should be suggested before arrival. The heating was also extremely high on arrival considering this time of the year. (However this was sorted out quite quickly after asking reception) but not very energy savvy. The parking could be managed in a better way instead of first come first served, should have a barrier around to ensure only hotel customer park with a code. On arrival there were local builders with their van taking 2 parking spaces.
Bed comfortable, lovely room, great location, staff friendly, got a lovely welcome pack for my dog. Great breakfast.
The hotel was nice & clean. The room size was good. The staff was very friendly. We travelled with kids and we got rooms nearby the restaurant area where it was easy to go and get the coffee and/or tea anytime we wanted.
Lovely old and quirky building. Good breakfast.
We don’t like the ‘clean cube’ aspect of many Belgian hotel rooms but would prefer something bigger and more characterful.
Ok, good stuff first1. Staff seemed helpfull and engaging 2. The breakast was pretty good 3. Location was great, a short walk from the town squareLess good1. My room was affested by the sound of vehicles on the cobbled street outside2. My foam mattress was saggy and lumpy
The cobbled road outside isnt their fault, but the mattress should be turned more often to even wear
