Hotel Atlantic

Excellent full buffet breakfast, a grand old hotel with emphasis on OLD, i.e.: never updated, very comfortable bed, typically tiny italian shower, steps from train station, a very short train ride from MXP airport, and another short train ride to Milano Centrale, that's a win / win / win in my book, there's also a 15 minute scenic train ride in the other direction to Stresa and the tiny islands, a real wow! I give the hotel 4 stars for these reasons even though it's outdated.

Very old and not clean. They have nothing changed since 1970s.

The hotel is very central, close to the station and the lakeside promenade

The bed was quite thin, the room was big and clean but felt a bit dated

Friendly front desk staff. Parking pass available for my stay. Clean room and nice food options.

Room was small and bed was smaller, but it was nice and clean. I am on the taller side

Excellent breakfast, great choice of hot and cold items. Great location. Reception and all staff were polite and helpful.

Nothing to dislike. The only comment I would make is that the mini bar fridge in my room was not cold enough for my liking.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel minutes from the station and the lakefront. I booked a basic single and was upgraded to a lovely double. The room was big, warm and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Location and Breakfast

My Room was a little noisy coming some kind of building ventilation systems in the room hallway ... there was-an internal door but still annoying

the pillows could have been better . bathroom dated , hence shower appeared dirty,

Staff, Cleanliness, Comfort, Value For Money, Location - all 10/10;Marco the Bar Man with the red watch strap is particularly helpful;Could fairly be described as 'Cheap and Cheerful' but in reality it is actually so much better than that!Decor of the bathrooms from the 1970's but a great modern shower and cubicle;Nice pizza restaurant on the mezzanine floor across the car park by the train station (look for the bright green lighting);I would definitely stay here again if re-visiting Arona;Has this quirky sort of Twin Peaks (the tv show) vibe about it, which is part of its charm;

My ONLY gripe is there was not any hot food (i.e. bacon and sausages) available for breakfast, although they did kindly cook me some fried eggs upon request at no additional charge

Location perfect just 200m from the train station. Staff was nice and helpful.

The rooms were quite old and funny looking but everything worked as it should so it was alright

No milk supplied for our drinks but it was happily given when requested. As there wasnt a window in the bathroom it was surprising there wasn't an extractor fan.

The lady at the reception on arrival on 12 September evening was wonderful and helpful Breakfast was good I was a guest in this hotel 6 years ago

Another lady at reception on departure on 14 September morning was the opposite; not helpful , not smiling , not friendly and not courteous No help with the luggage The first night room was messy, the second room was better Only one bin located in bathroom?!Restaurant staff weren’t welcoming and helpful

The location. You can literally see it upon exiting the train station. It's also great for lake trips (the terminal is across the street) and for the livelier city center area (10-min leisurely walk, probably 5-min if you walk fast). The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable. There was a mini-fridge in our room.

It's a pretty old hotel and I was expecting that, so it wasn't that much of an issue. The breakfast buffet could have used some fresh vegetables.

Perfect location for train, bus and water taxi, simply a few minutes from each.Great customer service, lovely toiletries, selection at breakfast time was incredible, cheese, meats, rolls fresh fruit and juices, yoghurts and at least 40 different pastries and cakes.
