Cons -
- The room was not great, full of spiderwebs, there were no curtains in the windows (the room was on the 1st floor!), the floor was broken, the wall stained. The window was dirty. The bathroom tiles were full of man hair (I stayed for 3 days and no one cleaned that). I was given a little shampoo bottle and a soap, nothing else. The room doesn't have any tea, coffee, not even a bottle of water or a kettle. The breakfast is 10 euros per day, I was told it was a "continental breakfast", in reality the breakfast is not great, not a lot of choice..yougurts, cold pancakes, bread, a few jams and things like that. Coffee is not great. I was very disappointed about this hotel as it is not what it looks from the pictures.
- Standard room is very small. Recommend to select the suites
- Small bathroom

The room was great, so central, Laurence was fantastic in helping with anything we needed and we loved staying there.
Nothing - it was great.
Very central location
Very noisy at night - not the fault of the hotel but rather a cleanup crew tidying up recycle bins on the street just outside of our window that lasted late into the night
We booked this hotel after arriving at another - our initial preferred option - and finding it was fully booked. I'd seen Hotel d'Angleterre online and it looked a bit unusual so we booked a room, which turned out to be an excellent decision. The hotel is being renovated by new owners and it would seem that the reception and dining/bar area have been finished as they are really interesting, and well designed/furnished, with lots of quirky British touches, combined with very stylish French design. The stairs and corridors, we have to be honest, leave a LOT to be desired as they are very tired, and in some places, downright scruffy. Don't let this put you off, as it becomes apparent that the rooms are the priority for the refurbishment - ours was really, really lovely with an AMAZING bathroom, with a big bath and a huge walk in shower. Metro tiles and very pretty floor tiles and black taps/shower head etc, added to the feeling of real luxe. The bedroom was huge, with two double shuttered windows overlooking a very pretty street. Furnishings were quite Scandi and minimal which we love, as we don't like fuss in a hotel room. And the bed - well, wow. Incredibly comfy, large and with the most wonderful bedding. Breakfast was great - typically French, with lots of cheeses, bread, croissants, pastries, good coffee, juices and yoghurts. An excellent choice, in a fabulous location - with on street parking, if you are lucky enough to find a space, which we did and which is free from 7pm until 9pm the following morning.
No complaints whatsoever, and once the refurb is completed, this hotel will be a gem.
Super friendly staff. Great location. No frills, but an authentic experience. The room was simple but very clean. Where old meets new!
Hallway smelled slightly musty, but hey the hotel is very old.
The air conditioning was OK
The room was very small, without a separate bathroom, merely a partition down part of the room and up three flights of stairs.
location, big rooms, clean, very good air conditioner.
parking,
There was a mix-up where I was charged twice for the room. They took my Australian bank details and said they would reimburse me. I took them on trust and they did that. They were true to their word. VERY HONEST! I appreciated it.
