Grand Hotel Velingrad

Everything was brilliant, the SPA, the food, the comfortable beds, the facilities, the staff, very careful and kind.

The building was recently renovated and upgraded. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast and dinner that were included in the price were great value. The pool and spa area were spacious so I never felt over crowded.

While staff is formally polite, for some of them, this clearly is just an obligation rather than a genuine attitude. Food is definitely not 5*

The pools, the room, the food, the facilities, the location, the kids entertainment and games, the adults only zone, the staff.

Everything was perfect. Only the sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable for sleeping.

The property is new and very clean, which I really appreciated. I especially enjoyed the pools and the spa — they were relaxing and well-maintained.

The food was a bit disappointing and didn’t meet my expectations.

Location

Location, gym and bowling area were nice. Spa acceptable.

Old, run down, needs immediate refurbishing. Modest rooms without coffee machine, even without complimentary water. Food absolutely horrendous, blend, testless, lowest quality of ingredients used. Juices watered down extremely. No fresh juices. We have tried better food in some 3 stars hotels. Stuff uninterested, impolite, barely speaking any English.Won't be back.

Grand Hotel is our favourite hotel in Velingrad. We visited it several times.Many thanks to the hotel staff Krasimira for her help and kindness.

Very clean hotel in a quiet location, making for a great night's sleep. Our room was very spacious and nice. The spa facilities were excellent, including indoor and outdoor hot jacuzzies, a sauna, various types of steam baths, multiple pools, one of which is large enough for swimming, a salt room, and more. We were happy with both breakfast and dinner, which offered a wide variety of food. One of our stays was on a Friday, and a live band during dinner added a nice touch to the experience. Highly recommend!

Food

Clean and spacious junior suite room with great view. Breakfast and dinner were buffet type and a lot of choices of tasty food! Spa facilities were good and comfortable. Swimming pools with mineral water.

The one thing that annoyed me the most is the fact that there are two persons overseeing the swimming pools where a big sign is placed that jumping in the pool is not allowed but they did not reacted to a lot of people (kids and adults) continuously jumping in. For a hotel with a lot of room during winter the spa area and swimming pool area is small and during weekend is crowded as we noted having one saturday there.

I like all hotel, we have booked room for three nights but we stay two more because the hotel is excelent, i like everything .the room is very clear, the food is great , the massages and saunas are great. This hotel will definitely be my number one from now on, and whoever hasn't come here should definitely visit and enjoy everything this hotel has to offer, and it offers a lot.

Food was great for the two days stay. SPA area was good value for the money. There is great bowling facility at the premises and a well equiped fitness center. Also there is a piano bar with live music starting at 23PM during the Weekend / Fr-Sat The classic Massages were worth the time with very skilled male and female masoisse.Personel was very kind and helpful.

Every year we visited the hotel.There everything was perfect as food,facilities,accommodation,staff and service.This is real 5 star hotel.

The spa pool closes at 8pm, and most facilities like bowling and spa message treatment need to pay separately.

The spa is a bit outdated. The walls and tiles on the floor needs changing.

The hotel is beautiful, with an excellent spa and wellness center. We had two massages with exfoliating treatments, both professionally done. I highly recommend it! The room was comfortable and spacious. A bonus was the children's playroom, which our kids found very enjoyable, along with the bowling alley, which kept them entertained.

The breakfast and dinner were underwhelming. For a 5-star hotel, we expected more. The cheese and salami selection was quite poor. The juice and coffee machines often ran out of ingredients, and you had to ask the hotel staff to refill them every time. There was only one toaster available for all guests, so sometimes you had to wait 10-15 minutes just to toast bread.

I think the bathroom was renovated very recently and there were no hangers for the toilet paper and the towels

The property is old and needs a great overhaul…!!!definitely not a 5* hotel, even for Bulgarian standards. If you go to a Spa&Wellness hotel you expect some kind of relaxation; no way. 90% of the guests brought their little kids…diving, swimming, jumping…the kids need this, but not at a Spa&Wellness hotel. Never again.
