Grand Hotel Royal

The hotel was recently redone so everything was up to date and sparkling clean. The staff was very attentive and went out of theirs way to make us comfortable. The location was close to restaurants and the archeological site. The breakfast was great.

This hotel is fantastic, especially if you need parking. Parking is free and easy. In fact, you can check out and keep your packed car there safely until 9pm the day you check out. So if your flight is later in the day, you can check out, know that the car and belongings are safe, and walk into Pompeii -- and it's a very short work into the city centre, the ruins etc. The owner is very friendly and helpful, as is everyone who works there. The breakfast is excellent. I would love to stay there again if we're able to return to Pompeii.

Excellent staff, room, cleanliness. They let us park our cars there after checkout while we visited the Pompei ruins. Nice perk.

this was our second visit to this family run and very well maintained hotel. the owner Gaetano his son and family feel like family. it`s a unique experience when you can travel and feel at home. we hired he`s son for a tour of Positano and it was incredible.he brought us to a friends restaurant near the beach and had a great meal together. we can`t say enough about this hotel and the family that runs it. see you next year!

We wanted to see the ruins in Pompei and this location was walkable to Pompei. Very nice little hotel that is family owned and operated by one of the most lovely families in Pompei. The father checked us in and explained how to walk to the Pompei ruins. He recommended a few restaurants and even made reservations for us that evening to a excellent restaurant within walking distance. We met the son, mother and niece during breakfast. The son, Ottaviano was the happiest and most upbeat person we ever met. My husband really enjoyed his company and they had a wonderful time singing and dancing. The mother and niece were lovely making coffee and filling the offerings. This place is a authentic Italian family who make you feel like part of their family. I would return just to see them. Great place to stay.

Everything! The service was warm friendly and professional. Our host made us welcome. The facilities excellent. Breakfast was very good and a wonderful start to the day. I traveled for work for over 10 years. This was the best hotel experience I have ever had.

I can think of nothing.

Very convenient location, close - quick walking distance to the city center, to the church, to one of the entrances to the ruins, to the amphitheater where we went to a concert! The staff was amazing and very helpful always, they helped us with directions, tourism guidance, alcohol for mosquitoes, water, keeping our luggage for us and they also upgraded our room to a very lovely one! We loved our stay here and will definitely try to come back someday! The best part of this place is the staff and their willingness to help!

Lovely family owned hotel with kind and caring owners. Tasty breakfast at the terrace. Quite room. Close to the Pompei ruins main entrance 10 mins walk.

Especially if you have a car, the location is great and parking is free. It’s also a short walk to Pompeii and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This is an older hotel but has been remodeled. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast ample.

It was a BEAUTIFUL property. The hotel was very clean, the outside and inside breakfast area were absolutely perfect. The breakfast was very good and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The owner, Gaetano, was so friendly and helpful and such an enthusiastic host. He made us feel like we were long lost friends.

We loved how hard the management and staff worked to make our visit a good one. They gave us good advice and set us up with a brilliant guide for Pompeii!!!!

Needs more garden. They could do so much with their garden area.

Exceptionally helpful personnel. We had the garden room with immediate access to the garden. There are ample chairs and tables to sit and enjoy the weather. There is also a very large ‘glass’ house where we met with friends and were comfortable no matter what the weather. They had a full array of choices for breakfast. We walked just 2 blocks and were at the center of the restaurants and another block to the Basilica. It is also a few blocks from the train station. Very nice rooms with all you could need. I’d stay here again without any question.

Can’t think of a thing!

We got first class service from the hotel. They helped us to get tickets to Vesuvius group transfer with very short notice and they even organized a snack for us before leaving. This was very warm hearted experience and the hotel room was very nice and clean. It was short walking distance to the city center and restaurants. In addition, the breakfast buffet was great start for the day full of tourist activities. Thanks for the all the hospitality!

The staff are superb. The friendliest manager (and all staff) of any hotel we have ever stayed in. The restaurant recommendations were spot on (I wouldnt go anywhere else!). The rooms are spotless. The breakfast room is friendly and relaxed. The real highlight is the location close to all the action in Pompeii. We were a family of 5 with young children and this was ideal for us.

We love this hotel. It’s very clean and comfy. The staff is super nice and helpful. We will come back to Pompeii and to this hotel.
