- The room is clean, and spacious than the photos shown online. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful☺️ she tried to explain everything to us even though she can only speak very limited English (and I don’t speak Japanese), and she even called for us to make the dinner reservation. The location of the resort is perfect for us - just 5 minutes walk to the beach! It’s not a beach you can swim but it’s not a touristy place so we got to enjoy some quiet sunbathing time and also a wonderful sunrise!

Peaceful and serene. Should be very quiet, except that frogs (I think they were frogs) were really loud at night in the creek nearby (I slept with the terrace door open). I think that would only be an issue certain times of the year ?.

- The air conditioner might be old - it was a bit noisy and not really functioning well (we set the temperature quite low already but still felt like 26/27℃）. As for the location, we have no issues with it, just a reminder to everyone - make sure you book the dinner with the resort or restaurant nearby in advance, or you’ll find everything’s closed after late afternoon.
- If you’re using Goggle Maps, you might try entering “Painushima Resort Coral Fish” to get better directions. The guest house is actually in Akaishi Village, not Ibaruma, and is just north of the elementary school, the biggest and most visible building in town.
