    Pros +

    • Clean, modern, well-located in the town.
    • Art Hotel Ishigaki is about 20 minutes walk from the main town area which is perfectly manageable and a pleasant walk - take an umbrella on hot days to shield from the sun. The hotel is very well set up and does accomodate English Speakers. As the restaurants run strict dining hours for lunch and dinner, we didn't use them. The roof top bar has lovely views and is worth a visit. We loved having Doug's coffee bar open for coffees and we also used the travel service to book a night time star gazing cruise. Art Hotel is also the local bus stop so you can time a trip to Kabira Bay which is a must - Kabira Bay is stunning. There are also shuttle services to the sister beachfront hotel, which we didn't use but understand the beach is very beautiful. Shin Shin Gyoza restaurant opposite the hotel is well worth a visit for their gyoza and chive omelette. Lovely owners, and the lady owner speaks English, so can help with ordering. Our trip was a little too short, we would love to have stayed longer.
    • Friendly staff.Liked Onsen, Pool .Restaurants were great.

    Cons -

    • Overflow parking is a long-ish walk. Not too bad though.
    • Nothing - Art Hotel is a very good choice if staying in Ishigaki and you are doing more than the beaches.
    • The rooms are a bit outdated and could use renovation.

We stayed for 7 nights. This hotel is new and clean. The pool, onsen, sauna, breakfast, especially staffs. There is a bus station right at the entrance so it’s convenient to go around, the also have free shuttle bus to Fusaki beach. The reception lady is always helpful, the pool boy is nice to our kids, we are always the last ones to leave, he didn’t say time to close instead he said you can enjoy the last time of the slide?so touching! And thanks to Mr. Muramatsu, always around to help and give us good tips. We wish to stay more days!

Spacious and comfortable rooms, very nice facilities (pool and onsen), great location within walking distance from town, super friendly and helpful staff, deliciously breakfast and great tour agency within the hotel

Nice place if you stay on Ishigaki for a few days. Also nice restaurants in the area.

The rooms are a bit outdated and could use renovation.

Good location, staff friendly and helpful. Good facilities with a public bath and sauna. The rooms were large for Japan standards, nice perk. Beds were comfortable, pillows were both memory foam.

Friendly personnel, it was clean and comfortable.

There was nothing that we didn't like

Decent size room, clean, view of the city, quiet, good buffet breakfast, great staff. Some excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk, not necessary to walk into town. Great variety of facilities.

Beds a little too hard and tiny bathroom.

The onsen / spa / sauna is simply amazing, a true experience!

Breakfast and lifts are way too crowded

The view, room and breakfast were nice. The location is convenient access to bus terminal.

Quite far to the beach and the pool is small and adapted to small kids, really bad place adults who wanna relax.

Big hotel with a good standard. Room was nice, view of Ishigaki and the sea. Good walking distance to the city center and the ferry terminal. Bus stop in front of the hotel. Free shuttle to the beach. Best thing is the restaurant adan-tei in walking distance.

Cleaning could be done more properly. There were a lot of long hair everywhere in the bedroom and the bathroom. English of the staff is not as good as one would expect.

Evening restaurant was good once I was able to use it on the second night.

Not advised at check-in that the evening restaurant requires reservations (after being given a coupon to use it) so I couldn’t get in. Room was very expensive for its size. Breakfast was very disappointing, especially since the front desk gave me a discount coupon but the girl at the desk refused to let me use it. There isn’t enough parking at this hotel! You have to be back at the hotel by around 5pm and not use your car for the rest of the night otherwise all of the parks get taken and there’s nowhere else to park.

    Breakfast was great

The public bath was OK but the Sauna could have been a bit cleaner

Breakfast buffet was excellent, huge range of options for all tastes. Hotel staff were kind and helpful in all situations. Can borrow beach towels for the day from reception and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. There is traditional Okinawan music every night at 8pm in the hotel. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. It’s a little walk to the main port but only 20 mins or so, good restaurants around the hotel and a little hotel shop for your snacking needs. Would stay again! We booked a snorkelling and hiking trip through the hotel and there were both really good.

Breakfast is huge, very tasty and will satisfy all guests - really good. The room for 3 people was the right size and overall the room was lovely with comfortable beds. The hotel feels modern and spacious, clean and smart. Live entertainment was nice and the tour booking office was great. The biggest bonus of the hotel is that it has its own bus stop! And most buses stop here - this was fantastic as we used the buses to get around the island. If you do not have a car, it is worth staying at this hotel for the bus convenience.

The only things we could fault are the pool and onsen opening hours. The onsen is only open for 2 hours in the morning (closes before 9am) and 6 hours in the evening which is inconvenient if you want to visit during the day. This isn't so bad, it's the fact the pool doesn't open until 11am, and again closes early. We barely used it because ideally we wanted morning swims, around 8-10am! Very annoying when we partly chose the hotel for the pool and in the 6 days we were there, only 1 of us went to the pool.

I enjoyed very much the stuff who was kind and helpful! Breakfast was delicious and loved the French toasts!
