    Pros +

    • Its location and its good value for money. The room was a bit bigger than it looked in the pictures.
    • Excellent value and well maintained. The breakfast was simple yet filling and tasty. The bike availability was a huge selling point for me since I didn’t have a car (it was very hilly so I had to bike slow but there was no rush). It’s perfectly situated between Kabira Bay to the west and Yonehara Beach to the east with beautiful views in both directions. The manager was incredibly helpful in helping me with some last minute travel plans and notably responsive all around.
    • I loved how quiet and peaceful was this place! We rented 2 rooms at AdobeBase and overall loved our stay. Room 6 had great mattresses, me and my husband slept very deep there, especially counting there is no noise around=) Having the kitchen with microwave and teapot was amazing, counting the fact there are not many restaurants around that work late, so the food had to be heated up.The area is very beautiful, it's a relaxing village stay with beaches for snorkeling nearby (unfortunately the weather was not very helpful for us to do it). If you rent a car, this is a great place to stay and explore the northern area of the island, what we successfully did!We were allowed to use washing machine for free, that's was very very helpful! I am grateful for that.

    Cons -

    • The final stretch of the road was a bit rough for the car, there were too many potholes.
    • Its location in Kabira is secluded which is great for those seeking relaxation and quiet but can be tough to find restaurants that are open. If you plan to eat somewhere or need a taxi, call well in advance to make a reservation so you don’t make the same mistake I did.
    • We booked the option with breakfast as I read that the host cooks really tasty breakfast on the reviews. People were saying that it was homemade prepared when they sat down at the table... And in the reality the breakfast was in the fridge - all 3 days we had 2 breads each with different things inside, yogurt, coffee and tiny plates with few fruit peaces. It was tasty, but I personally loved the idea of having warm breakfast with some communication with local people and that is why I thought it was great to book this place. Maybe the comments on booking.com misguided me or maybe it depends on the season..? If we knew, we would probably just book option without breakfast and drive somewhere nearby. The beads at room 1 from my friends words had some springs coming out and it bothered them to sleep.

Remote place, but close to some great snorkeling spots. Relatively well connected with buses. I enjoyed staying there and the staff was super nice

The bed was not the most comfortable

Super friendly staff, close to the beach, bicycles available(free of charge for guests), great breakfast.

Perfect place. I could check in early because of the rain and I could use a good bike to explore the Island. Yamabare is busstop

The host was just perfect: nice, welcoming, ready to help and give advice and local info. The location is very remote: you have to organize to get food (there is a very small and expensive store at foot distance); awesome as there is a beach for snorkling as an extension of the mansion.we went in mid december: off season; a bit cold; not perfect weather; but there nobody in the hole island.we went there by bike from city center: 20 km; it requires a bit of muscle but doable for mmoderately fit people and the path is goregeous. Plus doing this around by bike is perfect

    10TomasPosted on: 12-5-2024

Shige is a great host who goes above and beyond for his guests. The bikes available free of charge were a game changer to explore the area.

Would be awesome to have some bowls/ cutlery and a sink available to do some basic cooking

Very nice host, who made us wondeful breakfast. We could use their bicycles to get around and it was a very chill place.

    All was good.

The bedrooms look even better than in the pictures, they are comfy and fully equipped and private bathroom. Also has easy deal for laundry. And last but not least least, the host was really kind and helpful. The breakfast was very good!!

    All good :)

The location of this place is just perfect! Away from the city, you can enjoy the countryside at his best. This part of the island is beautiful. You have a rocky beach and a pond just few minutes away. Yonehara beach is just 5 minutes away by car. The manager is an amazing and very kind person. We had a problem and he helped us a lot. He also prepared a very good barbacue for us!

Shige, our host was absolutely lovely. He was so helpful, kind and informative and we really enjoyed talking to him. He also made a real effort with our 11 year old son. The room was really well sound proofed despite having rooms either side. It was helpful having the air conditioned eating area and microwave available any time as well as the washing machine. We loved being on this side of island, really green, beautiful and quiet. While you can't swim at close by Crystal Beach, it's great for walking along. Nearby Sukuji beach was perfect for swimming with a safe netted area.

The nearest super markets, even small ones like Family Mart are on the other side of the island so you need to be aware of that if arriving later in the evening as we did. There is a basic shop nearby but very limited and not always open. Shige helped direct us to a nearby place we could find later dinner. The bathroom had a standard toilet rather than a hi-tech Japanese toilet.

The breakfast was filling, varied and very good. It was homemade and was prepared when we sat down at the table.

The beds were a bit hard. Those who weigh less than 70 kg do not notice it, but if you weigh a little more, it became a small problem. There were no mattress pads.

Shige is a pergect host, the place is really lucky to have him. Very helpfull, sincere, gave us a lot of tips, recomendations about the area and helped us a lot as we booked the place before finding out that we will not be able to rent a car in the island. We would recomend to have a car if staying in this part of the island. But even without the car and with the help of Shige our stay was perfect. The empty amazing beaches around and sirene rural atmosphere was the highlights what made me not willing to go anywhere else.

NothingRent a car as the public transport is quite rare and enjoy your stay

Located right next to jungle, a hidden waterfall and the lovely Yonehara beach. Absolutely beautiful scenery - if you want an authentic Yaeyama experience you must visit this place!

    Nothing! Everything was perfect!

The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. The location of the apartment has been very convenient for us. The beds are very comfortable. The room has an aircon, small fridge, small TV and a table with a chair. There is a common room equipped with a toaster, microwave, cutlery and plates which was very convenient. The apartment was clean and a parking lot for our car has been available. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck.

Staff were helpful and accomodating. The bathroom was very clean! Clean towels every day. The free use of the laundry was hood too.

I thought breakfast was included. But none provided. I thought the cafe was running. But it was closed. The bed mattresses were not comfortable.

    9DennisPosted on: 3-29-2024

The host was fantastic. A BBQ was organized and it was amazing. Room was fine and nothing was missing.

    A bit remote

    10HinrichPosted on: 11-20-2023

Easy check-in, away from the hustle and hustle of the main town, easy access to nature areas, large rooms (for Japan), opportunity to sit outside.

The road to the property is unpaved and a little rugged. There is no signage to identifying the property or it's parking area.

    7JosephPosted on: 11-14-2023

These are basic rooms in a very nice area. The rooms are quite appropriate for the price and I was satisfied with my stay. There are bicycles for use that are very handy for visiting the local restaurants and beaches. The hotel is easily accessible by Azuma bus stop Yamabare. The rooms and facility were quiet.

By western standard the beds are awful. Essentially metal springs with a sheet over them. I was able to double over a blanket to improve my sleep.
