Northstar Motel

How spacious and comfortable beds

Just in our stay the bar and restaurant we're shut

I am awaiting a refund as the hotel reception was closed when we arrived (11pm) and no one answered the phone. We had to check in to another hotel. I had called prior-to and left voice message to indicate we'd be late arriving

The room size was very comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom design was perfect. The toilet had it's own door as well as the shower area. There was a bathroom sink outside all of the other areas. Perfect for everyone getting ready in the morning.

Didn't care for taking our suitcases up on the outside stairs.

Nice clean large room.Big shower with separate toilet.Great King size bed.Good kitchen and utensils, toaster, jug, and pod coffee machine.

Drive into town, more than a walk.TV difficult to operate even after reading the instructions.

Good size rooms

Steak was tough and pub shut early

Size of room

Scissors needed in cutlery drawer Very noisy sound coming down exhaust fan chimney -? Wind blowing something on roof and sound transferring down exhaust vent . Loud enough to disturb sleep.

The room was great, good space and clean. Beds were very comfortable too.Staff very friendly and helpful.

Nothing I was more than happy with everything.

The room was a generous size. The bathroom looked to be newly renovated. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was quite comfy.

Older style room but very clean and roomy

The rooms are big and have a lot of storage. The kitchen is lovely.

The kitchen chairs needed rubber feet as the chairs make an awful loud noise when they are moved.

Clean spacious.

The restaurant and bar were closed over the holidays. We wernt told that this was the case.I picked this motel, because of being able to have meals there.Bad management.

Everything! Crisp clean bedding; extra large bed; lounge area; kitchen; very large bathroom; bar and restaurant on site; good sized TV with Sky channels; plenty of tea/coffee etc; about 2km from centre straight down the road;

Felt they needed to have staff at receptionBar staff not that welcoming.

Heater non functional. Stairs rather daunting for senior citizens. Ask for ground level in future.

Great motel had a real oven and close enough to town with a car. Onsite restaurant food A1! Huge room.Lovely staff we would recommend and stay here again.

Nothing it was excellent

Spacious, clean !!! Private kitchen and bathroom!

Very spacious clean well kitted out motel units - we were in 4,5, and 6 on the ground floor.

Loved the nespresso machine and spacious rooms. Bathrooms were clean and looked recently renovated.

The staff were amazing The food was great

Wasn't hotel fault but we had a power outage for few hours and couldn't have shower or get ready for family funeral

The room was so spacious and clean. The area was quiet and the staff were very friendly and nice.

This motel is a little north and some distance from the heart of Oamaru. The check in was very pleasant. My room was upstairs and as I climbed them I was disappointed with the grubby appearance and was concerned what the room would be like! The balcony was much the same. The motel room was really large and comfortable, a little outdated but it was clean. I like to cook but the kitchenware was somewhat limited and the frypan would not sit on the element. the beds were comfortable. The motel compendium requires updating as it does not give current information. The bar is large and the bar attendant was great.

Grubby stairwell and balcony, both of which could do with a repaint. Kitchenware requires an update.
