Alma Motel

Nice position just out of the city

Lots of room and good location to break the journey between Christchurch and the deep south

friendly welcome and very helpful team. was quirky and very homely and comfortable.Would stay again if i am in the area.

Super retro vibe. Everything is from the 60-70’s including the bedding. I couldn’t allow my mind to think how many thousands of times the mattress or bedding had been used. Curtains were insanely old. My Grandma had that exact bed spread in her home many decade's ago. A fresh white paint re-fresh would brighten it up and give it some hope new hope. Place was very clean, house keeping probably works very hard to make it presentable, thank you!

Please see above. It’s the good and the bad.

We now make a point of staying here. While it is not right in the city it has a nice relaxed atmosphere to it. Parking is a breeze and has lots of room, the units are comfortable and have everything that you need. We have stayed elsewhere in Oamaru once but choose to come back to the Alma.

Everything is great, we don't need anything changed.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again as it was in a good location for my needs

The one bedroom I took, for me a retro furnished and it is my style. Even though it is behind the garage, No 4 if I'm not mistaken, I loved it and had a very good night sleep. Definitely going back if travel thru there.

Lovely clean room, beds very comfortable. Nice set up with plenty of parking and easy access in and out of a busy main road.

Great location, great price. Facilities match price asked. Excellent staff.

Multi boxes.

Great value. Mine host extremely welcoming. Grounds nicely landscaped. Not 5 star but you won't find better for the price/ Thoroughly recommend .

Clean, everything we needed for a night. Lovely man greeted us and real milk!

friendly staff, clean, easy parking, had all the cooking essentials and bathroom items needed

nothing - everything was perfect

This place is a hidden gem, off the road from the main traffic the refurbished cottages are very clean, roomy and comfortable . We appreciated the practical kitchen , the quiet venue and the cosy feel of Alma Motel .

I have stayed in many places over the years and this was fine . Yes the kitchen tongs may need replacing and the cutting knife blunt but that is the same in my own home .

Price room decor comfortable bed good shower

Enjoyed our stay at Alma Motel. Very clean and well equipped little cottage. Very comfortable bed. Really appreciated being able to have our dog stay in her own bedding. Handy spot to break a long car trip-easy access, parking beside cottage made it very easy.

Clean and tidy and fairly quiet for being on the main road. Good value.

Although an older style motel, there was attention to detail and it was well presented. Courteous service. A very comfortable bed. Ideal for a one night stay to break my journey. I would stay again

Individual cute units with carports. Great for unloading in the rain!Lovely gardens surrounding.Quiet and peaceful. Helpful pleasant staff.Really comfy bedsEfficient heatersCarpet throughout Well maintained and super clean.

Unusual layout inside . Toilet accessed from outside ( but under same roof) no washbasin in toilet. Not a problem just unusual.

Alma is our go-to motel whenever we are visiting Oamaru. The motel is always spotless and the hosts are lovely. Prices are very competitive. It isn't a modern motel so the facilities might not suit everyone and being located on the main road there is traffic noise but I don't consider either of these detract from the charm on offer.

There is nothing that we don't like about Alma.

Friendly check in, great location, easy access and super clean. We loved it.
