Elite Hotel Mårtenson

The location is outstanding. Also very friendly staff for check in and check out.

I was a bit disappointed that my room was cleaned when I did not ask for it, but was not cleaned when I did ask for it. Also the bathroom badly needs a deep cleaning with anti-limescale product and the tiles might need new grout. But also it was just poorly designed. Towels fell off the towel hooks unless you hung them by the loop but then they’d sit on the floor and get wet. The toilet brush was under the sink, on the opposite side of the bathroom from the toilet so if you used it, it would drip icky water all over your bathroom floor. Whomever set up this bathroom clearly wasn’t thinking at all about the people who would use it.

Breakfast great but I didn't know it was included with the room until the 3rd day. Nobody informed me there was no extra charge when I checked in.

Rooms tiny. Often noisy at night as I was close to the staircase and multiple groups of young men yelling regularly until at least midnight. First day I arrived jet lagged, there was no option to check in before 3. I also waited an hour that day in the cafe for an order of avocado on toast.

Rooms without window.

Room superior atrium. Laminated or foiled window. This means that the room lacks window.After several complains we were compensated with a fraction of the price. This seems to be the process of Mårtenson cause other guests were also compensated.We expected more from a Elite hotel.Avoid it.

Location is fantastic, the staff is great and the breakfast is excellent

The gym is very small

we loved our large room overlooking the river. The decor was very modern despite being an old hotel. Showers/bathroom were great.

The food at the restaurant was not good. Had to send back the pasta. Way to expensive for what you get. Very friendly staff and a nice place though.

Lovely hotel located in the center of Halmstad with amazing decoration. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Very rich breakfast. We had dinner in the main restaurant and was good as well.

The only thing i would mention is that upon arrival in the room, my towels were left in the place where the luggage is normally stored. Not a very nice and clean place to leave the clean towels. Apart from that, everything was great!

The staff were incredibly friendly and super helpful, easy parking close to the hotel. Location was excellent, many restaurants in close walking distance to the hotel. Very comfortable beds and the breakfast buffet was very good. We will definitely stay here next time!

Really nice place, wonderful reception, great breakfast, great hotel bar with very skilled bartenders.

To nag on something, the sound isolation between rooms wasn't the best.

Location and facilities where nice

We had to wait 20 min to checking as the counter was unmanned, we called the number 5 times with no response. The room was not made up for our children. Had to wait another 30min for this, and late in the day this was less than fantastic. The volume of the tv was not possible to change and the staff didn’t know how to turn it up. The room had a flickering light.

Excellent choice for breakfast. Hotel is in ideal location for town centre with numerous other good restaurants if you want a change from Gretas bar at hotel or the Bistro. All staff Excellent, friendly, helpful, and spoke English

Would have liked coffee/tea facilities in my room

We liked the large room for our family of four with windows overlooking the square outside. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection including nice and crispy bacon, waffle station and fresh croissants. Service at the hotel and amenities in the room were great. We had coffee machine, fridge, iron etc to make our brief stay comfortable. The only small point was that the sofa bed for the kids was not very comfortable but for one night it was still OK. Very happy to return another time.

excellent breakfast and atmosphere in the hotel. We arrived late at 10pm and they were able to provide us with food which as fantastic. Really lovely staff

cosy sized rooms but what we paid for

The hotel is very centrally located in Halmstad, but it is not entirely easy to get there by car/motorcycle or other means of transport. This is because they are located very nicely and beautifully in front of a wall and inside there are all pedestrian streets. Next to the water Nissan runs outside and the surroundings are very beautiful. Halmstad is a city worth visiting in many ways and attractions. I would recommend parking your car/motorcycle at the SVARTMUNKEN car park. It is very close to the hotel and within walking distance. In today's situation only SEK 100 per night in fee.

This was just a stopover on our trip that met our expectations well.

The location in the center is nice. Close to restaurants and, uncommon for Sweden, an affordable parking garage.

No aircon in the room made the room atmosphere heavy and opening windows let in street level noise/music from events. Loading and unloading is inconvenient: you cannot really drive up to the hotel.

The location is fabulous, the breakfast was splendid

It was undermanned, we had to wait for more than 15 min for the check-in and often there was no one at the desk, cleaning was a little poor and a big negative was that there was no A/C in the room so it was really hot in the room and we could not open the windows:(

When we arrived the sofa bed for our kids was not made. I had to remind the staff 3x to do it and in the end still the towels for the kids were missing.
