Location, kind staff
Bed wasnt confortable, i chosed big bed but it was 2 small bed next to each
Nice building, spacious room.
The a la carte restaurant seemed not much choices, at least on the new year day. The breakfast buffet was good though.
Fabulous old hotel with interesting history.
Walkable distance from port but easier location with a car.
The location Parking space
The indoor pool was closed
We loved our room and the oldstyle atmosphere
The indoor pool wasn't working
Great location if you need a stop-over before / after catching the ferry from Algeciras. Plenty of parking although they do try to charge guests €10 to park (I didn't pay).
Arrived around 21:00 - 21:30 and the restaurant wasn't open - which is unusual / early for Spain and therefore I couldn't get an evening meal, which was disappointing.
The location and grounds were very nice. The room was fresh and well-maintained , with a window in the bath overlooking the grounds . Nice appointments in the room. Hallways were well done ,with pictures and photographs. The overall effect was for spacious , comfortable and decorative living quarters.
It was charming and convenient for the hospital The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and the whole atmosphere was relaxing and cslming
The beds were hard and the pillows too small.
Nice property, could use a little bit of renovations, nice terraces and pool, easy access and parking
We had 2 rooms for 4 people, there were no towels in one of the rooms. We could not call the front desk as the landline phone was not working. We asked the front desk multiple times for towels and they kept saying housekeeping will bring them, but we never received them. By the third try at the front desk after 2h, they gave us 2 blue pool towels, which were not great. We stayed 2 nights and did have towels in the bathroom the next day. The elevator was not working and we had to bring our luggage upstairs using the stairs, but a technician fixed the elevator 15 minutes later.
The grounds were extensive. the room was clean and large.. the pool was good.. despite being full, the hotel was quiet . The breakfast was good.
The buffet dinner was below standard. Poor choices and poorly cooked. There was no A La Carte Menu.
Spacious room. Location.
Outdoor swimming pool not open in morning.
Food was okay a la carte, breakfast mediocre.
Very thin walls, so room very noisy from hallway amd other rooms. Beds hard.
It's calm and silent. The garden s nice.
This place is not a 4 stars, it fells like a 2 stars sitting in a premises of a possible 4 stars. The service, the beds, the food and particularly the breakfast are very poor and do not deserve to be ranked 4 stars.
The receptionist was not at all welcoming when we arrived. This is a matter of training because she was helpful and smiling later. Cleaning was good but some supplies: a towel, extra toilet roll and bath mat were forgotten. The hotel really needs to get a grip on the pigeons nesting on the balconies - not just noisy but potentially a health hazard. Coach parties can dominate the atmosphere at times.
The indoor pool was great and warm not like other times. Though the walls inside the pool the tiles do need a good clean. The room as always amazing. The staff all very friendly - bar, reception, restaurant, cleaners all great.
A bit more in letting guests know about any activities going on. I found out coincidentally there was bachata and took part.
This hotel was recommended by seat61.com. Had no expectations, was just looking for somewhere close to the train station and ferry terminal. So I was truly impressed: friendly staff, incredible old building, clean and comfy rooms, good value for money and the dinner/breakfast buffets were also well worth it!
The front gate would not open: its not so accessible for pedestrians, but still within easy walking distance from Estacion Maritima and the train station.
The building and the surroundings.
Rooms 1 to 11 are only accessible by stairs, not wheelchair friendly.
