    • This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was a slow season so they kindly gave us an upgrade at no cost to us. Dinners were delicious. The breakfast was lovely and a wonderful way to start the day. Great wine selection to be enjoyed on the patio. Had a nice hike on the property.
    • It’s a beautiful place. Super comfortable. Good breakfast. The huge walk-in shower. We arrived at Sunset and watched it from the lawn over the beautiful view with welcome drinks. It was magical.
    • Hotel is lovely and clean! Staff was helpful and the entire area is gorgeous.

    Cons -

    • The dinner is hugely overpriced. I like to come to a hotel where I can have dinner and go to bed after a long day. I was a little miffed that we were offered couvert which I generally agree to just because I don’t feel comfortable not doing so. Then I got the menu and realized I was paying eight euros per person for a bread roll and a bit of spread. I felt cheated. The dinner was ok, but again very overpriced.
    • Dinner was not good quality…and the waiter was bothersome with his negative comments.
    • Rooms could be renovated a bit

The hospitality, the scenic views, the public areas, the food at dinner

Rooms could be renovated a bit

This hotel is absolutely wonderful — the property itself is one-of-a-kind stunning and peaceful, with a gorgeous view over the park and a historic home that has been updated incredibly tastefully to entail luxury hotel amenities. But what really sets Casa Palmela apart is the service — it is detail-oriented and elegant but also warm and welcoming, making a stay here actually feel as if one is being welcomed into someone’s home.

Amazing and surprising find! Very unique and wonderful staff. One of the best places we've ever stayed!Wonderful middle of nature location.Top restaurant Ultra friendly and helpful staff.Simply, a perfect stay.

    Nothing...all very good.

Stunning house and property. Swimming pools were both very nice, and having an adults-only pool close to the bar was ideal. The staff were amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a classic flair hard to find in this price range. The provided breakfast was excellent. The free yoga class was very enjoyable. The restaurant was good but seemed a bit less than equal to the rest of the experience.

The bed was a mixed-bag; while my partner loved it, I could never get comfortable. Overall value was a little disappointing.

Loved everything about this property, little paradise. Staff were lovely, excellent location and great food.

Would appreciate more fruits at breakfast, and a la carte selection of eggs.

Extremely relaxing stay for one night. Very accommodating letting us enjoy the pool for several hours after check out. The food at their restaurant was incredible and we enjoyed visiting the goat.

Sewage smell in bedrooms and villa

Our room smelled like sewage and drainage. We wish we could have left upon arrival but it was midnight and we had nowhere else to go. We left immediately the morning after. I still can’t believe the hotel would make us stay there and pay for the one night considering how bad it smelled - my daughters couldn’t sleep because of the smell. That hotel should not be selling that villa and they should’ve notified us in advance and cancelled our reservation. I left my number for the manager to call me and she didn’t. I called again today and left a message and she never called back. That hotel is a 3 star at best. Incredibly disappointing and frustrating. What a way to ruin a family vacation!

A beautiful hotel situated in beautiful surroundings. The peace and tranquility experienced at this hotel is incredible. Staff are friendly and accommodating to your needs. Food is of a high standard and breakfast options were extensive. Thank you Casa Palmela for a memorable stay. We will definitely return in the future.

Lovely views. Very friendly staff. Shoutout to Jao who looked after us in the restaurant and bar.

Beautiful quiet setting, comfortable rooms, fine dining and friendly staff

    It met our expectations

Extremely tranquil setting. You were surrounded by peace and quiet all round in a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely accommodating of us and our little dog throughout our stay. Luxurious and highly recommend. Close to the beautiful Arrabida. Also close to both Sesimbra and Setubal for amazing food options.

We would have hoped that there were free bicycles to explore the vast trails and grounds of the property.

    7JudithPosted on: 4-10-2025

Lovely grounds and trails throughout property. Quiet country location. Nice breakfast selection. Hotel and dining ( Jaoa) staff were very accommodating.

Our room on the ground level was next to the front entrance of the Hotel and window overlooked driveway. Not very private when shutters were open and very dark room when shutters were closed. Should not be sold as a guest room and very overpriced for what it offers. Rooms were a big tired in decor. Dining room at hotel was nice enough but quite pricey. Need to drive to Setubal 20 mins away if you want other dining options.

Amazing place, great people, beautiful views. There were minor issues with the room cleanliness but the stuff promised to address it. We booked double bed but got two twins connected which was a hit uncomfortable but noticed it was twins only at the checkout.

We had a wonderful time at this amazingly located gem of a hotel. Even in the pouring rain, this place looked spectacular. We loved watching the clouds roll in and out over the mountains. Staff were exceptional, so professional and kind. We loved the food and the kids had such fun exploring the grounds with a little bit of freedom. We will definitely be back. Such a quick ride from lisbon, even in a Bolt if needed.

    amazing location, good staff.

very cold villa on a first flour, in bedrooms there was air conditioners

The service was outstanding in every aspect. The staff made you feel at home and very relaxed in this beautiful, intimate property. One member of staff that really stood out was Joao in the restaurant, impeccable and exceptional interpersonal skills. Also, the food is delicious and a very good wine selection is available. A must is a massage from either Hannah, both highly skilled and delightful. The house dog, Wisdom, is the master of all as most Dachshunds are.

The hotel is beautiful and in a truly peaceful setting. The staff were welcoming and attentive in a way that was very comfortable. It is evident that they are trained to the highest standards. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the dining room and loved every dish. We are already planning to return in the spring.
