Hotel Cristal Caldas

I like the friendliness of the staff at the front desk. They were very knowledgeable and can speak multiple languages. They were interested in any issues that I had and we’re very quick to resolve them.

There was no trashcan inside of my room and trash began to build up. I had to carry trash downstairs to the bathroom in the lobby in order to dispose, or too much trash for the housekeeping.The refrigerator in the room did not work. The staff was very quick too replace. However, I asked that they take the food that was laying on top of the refrigerator and dispose of it because it had gone bad without refrigeration (and there was no trashcan in the room). Instead, housekeeping took three bags of beef jerky that I had brought from home and disposed of it ($75 USD). I believe it was a culture misinterpretation, however, it did leave me without.

I thought my room was very pleasant, with large windows that opened out to the pool area. My room was quiet and clean, and the bathroom was clean as well.The hotel is conveniently located near all the major sights in town and is close to a large parking lot, if you happen to be renting a car.

The beds were pretty meh. Luckily, I was wiped out from the trip and probably could have slept on anything.

Close access to market , shops and bus station.

Staff very helpful. Room smelled very strong of deodorizer. Lots of cigarette butts on the roof outside our window facing the front of the building. Location was very good.

the location is good. The facilities are good, breakfast was continental, with a small offering of hot breakfast. Clean rooms and clean facilities.

Dining room was not cozy , no atmosphere.Expensive dinner, set menu.

Rooms are in need of a refurbishment. No balconies or terraces to sit on. Hotel looks dated in common areas. Pool leisure area was unavailable due to painting of the exterior of the building.

Breakfast was quite good with good variety. Location quite good 10-15 minutes walk to the central square. Room and bed comfortable, good polite staff.

A bin in the room and some towel hangers and toilet paper hanger would be useful. A welcoming bottle of water would be very much appreciated.

Sadly my husband is elderly and disabled,so a little entertaining in the hotel would have been good.As it was we were in bed early.

Everything..Staff were helpful and let us check in early with our luggage , they also allowed us to store our luggage on departure for a few hours.

The location is great, near the bus station.The breakfast, even though simple, was good.Bedroom was good, clean, with air conditioner, safe, bathroom with bidet.

Very convenient location, close to downtown, eateries, the train and bus station. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Surprisingly many spoke English. I would book a room at the Cristal Hotel again.

It is a minor issue, we had noisy neighbors one evening.

Confortable, clean, new, well preserved, quiet, nice staff, breakfast nice

Missing or no shampoo. No cold option on the air conditioning. Not working lights on bed tables. No mirror on the room only a small one on wc. Breakfast nice but might have more variety of natural fruits or breads.

Quite Disapointing

The hotel staff should inform their costumers priveously that the hotel is currently being reshaped. On of the elevators didn't work, and the remaining one got stucked for 3 times during a one ngiht stay. When I got to breakfast room at 9:50 (10 minutes before closing) the staff had already removed some edibles. Food had an astonishing lack of quality: a fine choice of the cheapest items in the market. Some members of the staff had a unprofessional attitude towards the guests, feeling free to criticice their colleagues in front of costumers.. This HOTEL SHOULD CLOSE WHILE BEING REFURBISHED.

The hotel was going through an upgrade but didn't cause too much disruption..The coffee and juice at breakfast could do with improving, also the back ground music at breakfast needs replacing or turning down.
