Jebel Shams Resort

We had booked 2 chalets (for 3 adults). One of them was new and very nice with a bit of a view. The other one was not so new and not as nice but still clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast are excellent and we are really glad we stayed here. we all enjoyed it and the location is fantastic. They are still building and adding facilities so would be good to stay a few nights and explore the area. Would go back to this resort.

There were reading lights above the bed but we never did figure out how to use them. Some powerpoints near the bed and some labeling on the light switches would be helpful.

Such friendly, helpful staff. Nice little cafe with heaters for the desert nights.

Nothing much really. It was all as described. It wasnt a luxury hotel, but it didnt pretend that it was. The options are limited for Jebel Shams and this place was the best.

- fast response times.-friendly and always available staff.-very interesting tours.-very good food. Both breakfast and dinner, great variety, and everything delicious. The chef was very good and is a very kind and nice person. The pasta is also excellent! (And I'm Italian, I know what I'm talking about ).- excellent cleaning.

The breakfast was incredibly low-quality, the majority of food looked very unappetizing and tasted badly. The bathroom smelled terribly (sewage smell)

The location is perfect for a hike to the Grand Canyon of Arabia. Our small cottage had everything we needed. It smelled weird in the bathroom but we just had to close the sink hole to keep it ok (I suppose drainage is not easy up there!). Nice place, quite and clean.

The evening buffet was not the best in terms of options but they helped me find a solution for my needs.

Absolute Disappointment and No value for Money. However, Great location.

Went in with a lot of expectations all the way from Dubai and it turned out to be a total disappointment. The location is amazing and the weather was great as well. With regard to what I dislike about the resort, I dont know where to get started. I took a Sunset chalet and before entering the chalet, there was a FOUL SMELL. It seems to be coming from the drainage pit right outside the chalet. I was still keeping my hopes up as I wanted my trip to be pleasant. Then I get into the room and find out that the resort DOESN'T HAVE WIFIE which is disappointing in this day and age. The hotel seemed to have mentioned No Internet on booking.com but I overlooked it because Wifi is a basic service and anyone would expect this to be available. I wanted to call the reception to check about the Wifi and get a few tips on the attractions nearby and I find NO ROOM PHONE to connect with the front office even for an emergency and I am to walk all the way to the reception to talk to them. To add on top of this all, there was NO BUFFET arrangement (Probably because I was the only Guest in the resort that day). For what they charged me, I would expect the dinner and breakfast to be a buffet but it was offered out of a set menu which had very little options. For Dinner, I ordered the Calamari and it was undercooked and I order Beef Kebab and they bring some other beef dish. For breakfast, I ask for the sliced fruit plate and they dont bring it and I had to ask 2-3 times. Also, the attendant lady in the dining area isnt well trained although she is trying to do what she can. Finally, we try to use the rest room in the dining area and its unclean and gives out a foul smell. Sadly, we left the resort very disappointed as it was such a long journey and it turned out to be a total disaster. I felt like I had wasted our time and effort for nothing.

Loved the BBQ area and being able to BBQ ourselves on the first night and then supper was tasty. I like the furniture in the chalets which are clean and comfortable. Super helpful team too. Great location - love the drive up Jebel Shams!

Not a major fan of breakfast

Excellent location with good privacy. Silent and great views of the mountains from the room and sit out. Plenty of place to walk around.

No wifi in the resort except for the reception. Small pool and no other activities available.

The pool was empty and I was really looking forward to swimming. Management claims that I was informed during the booking process but unfortunately I didn't see it. Requesting a bag of ice also appeared painful to provide even with a 1 OMR cost?

Good and nice hotel, confortable and very well located. Food is good as well as price.I recommend

Friendly and helpful staff

Although this property is classified as a resort, it has no spa or room service. Their swimming pool is under maintenance. Our booking was with breakfast and dinner. We were surprised that there was no buffet. We had to order our food from a set menu with limited options, which is not suitable if you have food allergies or following a special diet. The property is old and poorly maintained. I do not recommend this property.

Breakfast & dinner was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Neat room & well maintained surroundings. A great get away from the scorching heat down. We stayed in Olive cottage.

There is scope for improvement at the pool area like, a temperature controlled pool, placing bath towels for pool users etc. The showering area for pool users was under maintenance during our stay. Hope all deficiencies like this would be rectified soon.

The staff were very friendly and nice to deal with and very understanding. The place was clean, veiw was amazing.

The food was not good at all. Matirials used in construction looked old and overused.I understand the resort is on a mountain and we would expect bugs but some type of control should be there like window nets ...etc.

The location & Property is good

Food was average and there are no shops nearby as an alternative to buying food at least BBQ is listed as one of the amenities but Property said as an additional charge WIFI is not at all reachable (Only available at reception nearby area) Swimming pool cleanliness and temperature control can be implemented Add more facilities in kids' play area like benches, toys, and fence(cars are passing near to play area) shops for Basic essentials can be opened inside the property as there are no shops nearby for anything
