Kar's Hotel

There are a few hotels located in the historical Russian mansions, but this one is definitely the best. It's truly a boutique hotel, thoroughly restoring and preserving the epoch's atmosphere. All the staff members are very hospitable, helpful, and proud of their workplace and their city with its rich exciting history. But for a rather short holiday, we'd have loved to stay longer, this place does feel like home far from home.

The sound proofing of the windows is awesome, but without AC one can't stay with the windows closed, which makes late evening street noises, especially the live music from a nearby gourmet restaurant, rather disturbing. Yet, if you aren't an early bird, it doesn't really matter, because the city falls asleep right after midnight. (And yes, it gets up quite early, too.)

The staff was perfect, the manager even went with us to a small excursion through the city. The location of the hotel is great, in the old city center, 5 min to the fortress. Kars itself is an astonishingly lively and beautiful city!

I couldn't open both windows, and the floor (for morning exercises) wasn't very clean.

An excellent hotel in central Kars. All the main sites of the city are in easy walking distance. The hotel is a lovely old house (only 8 rooms) that has been beautifully renovated. My room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was especially good - a real feast with lots of local cheeses! I would definitely stay here again or recommend to others.

Nothing at all - I wished I could have stayed longer

The hotel is beautiful, the room too, with big windows, a huge comfortable bed, and a good washroom. Very quiet. And the balcony space was a great place to hang out.Breakfast was generous and beautiful. The manager was exceptionally thoughtful and helpful.

Breakfast can definitely be improved. Coffee felt like an instant coffee, and eggs were not offered until we requested them.

Lovely Tsarist era restored building with a view of the castle and in a good location. The breakfast - a demonstration of the local cheese and honey - was exceptional.

Very friendly inn-keeper and friendly staff. Helpful. Room was big and bright. Well protected againgst street noise. The breakfast room was modern and the food was well presented.

The internet signal in my room was too weak. There was no desk in my room, only a coffee table. This was better than nothing but sitll not optimal.

It was a lovely hotel and the staff were most accommodating. We had some trouble with the Wi-Fi and the staff were so helpful until we had our computers going. The breakfast was really nice. They were also helpful in finding us a wonderful guide and recommendations for dinner.

Excellent breakfast, very comfortable bed, clean, quiet. Nice building, access to a big balcony.

Internet quite intermittent

Beautifully restored old building, oozes charm and character. The staff were very friendly and attentive during our stay and we extended our stay from one night to two. The rooms are well furnished and spacious.Breakfast was delicious, assorted cheeses, jams and honey with freshly cooked bread.Highly recommended!

Not an issue but a fridge in the room would have been a bonus
