- A very beautiful hotel, a pleasant stay, and lovely, helpful staff, especially Mr. Fathi at reception and Amr, the porter, who is always smiling and always eager to assist. Perfect location for snorkeling. Clean structure, good food, I liked it very much.

Friendly staff, helpful, and very nice they treated us politely and generously welcomed us. Coz we are Egyptians ???Food was delicious and varied. The view is amazing.. especially the beach and the marine life.. a lot of turtles and the Dougong was there The Wadi el-Gimal island is amazing and so beautiful, and swimming with the dolphins. The diving center team is very organized and caring.Great thanks to Ali (عم علي), Kareem, and Mr. Ehab from the diving center .. Mohammed from the reception. All cleaning staff Abdallah and RagabAnd finally, the restaurant's staff, all the great chefs ??, front-line staff were beyond amazing.

Location is great. Nice house reef.Beds are comfortable. Shower was leaking which left water all over the bathroom floor. Aircon is good but a bit noisy. Food is ok. Staff is freindly and helpful. The resort has not been fully occupied during our stay. Therefore there has been a good guests-staff ratio.
No free WiFi.
The staff was excellent including being shown the gluten free options
She is a rare old beauty that like many places in Egypt needs some outside work.
Large, safe and green resort, spacious clean rooms with comfortable beds, hot shower, nice views from balcony, good food and varied menu, friendly and helpful English speaking staff, generally quiet atmosphere, fine sandy beach, plenty of marine life, gym on site and professional dive centre nearby.
Drinking water is only provided in 500ml disposable plastic bottles, creating unnecessary waste throughout your stay. All other drinks are served in reusable cups at the bars, why not water? At night at the pool bar, guests can find themselves caught between two music sources (pool and bar) playing two different styles of music at the same time.I had a bad experience getting a haircut and a shave at the beauty salon. The hairdresser started by cutting oily hair and then just rinsed it with cold water while asking me if it was hot enough. The alcoholic aftershave was sprayed directly on my face without even covering my eyes. The shave caused a lot of skin irritation. The airport transfer seems very expensive and is charged per person, not per trip. Guests who wish to share an airport transfer that has already been arranged and paid for are asked to pay the same amount. Not a Shams Alam issue but could be solved for a better experience: Gorgonia Beach security staff will ask guests walking along the beach towards the Gorgonia jetty (to snorkel back) to go through the main gate / reception and show their passports first.
The staff were lovely, it looks beautiful
Hard to get anywhere If you want to explore
I liked everything about Shams Alam Resort. The food was excellent, with a lot of variety including gluten-free bread, and desserts. The location was great too, fairly close to famous diving spots like Sharm El Luli and Dolphin Reef. The hotel has good facilities, like wellness center with hairdresser, an exceptional organic essential oil shop with lots of other authentic Egyptian art and souvenirs. The hotel receptionists are very helpful with booking trips and taxis. There is also a diving center and they make trips to beautiful reefs such as Hamadi islands and other amazing snorkling /diving spots. I loved absolutely everything. Don't expect a brand new hotel, it is one of the oldest hotels in Marsa Alam but well taken care of. Old but gold!
Nothing I can think of. I stayed in January and it was pretty calm. Some renovations were going on, so they kept on increasing the comfort for more exigent hotel guests.
The resort is 1-1,5 hrs south of Marsa Alam airport. I picked it for its smaller quieter atmosphere and found them to have excellent food and really friendly service staff. The property is located in a slightly sheltered bay making it possible to enter the water even during windy conditions. There is a dive center as well which runs two boats. It is possible to walk south for 1-2 miles without any other resort. Special thanks goes to Mohamed Saad / Aly at reception as well as the entire restaurant service team.
Clean, chill, comfortable. Friendly and professional staff. Beach was great, the reef had a ton of fish
Not too much variety in the buffet food day to day
It's far away from everything and avery peacefull place. No noisy aquaparks. The view is great and the hotel is on the beach. Diving centre and jetty, too. The staff is very friendly and food is really delicious.
The rooms are already a bit worn out, but ok value.
Location, kitchen is good, staff is friendly
I cannot be sure but between the airport (?) and our first night, I got stolen of 1 bottle of parfume. But of course the responsible couldnt be found
Excellent value, nice resort. We enjoyed our stay. Good food, they have ping pong, pool, and windsurfing. Good house reef. Saw a moray eel. They have beach boules. Rooms are comfortable. They had some shows as well - fire show, etc. Reasonable price. I recommend this resort.
WiFi is 2euros/30 mins, which seems expensive. We were given a downstairs room with no sea view - would have preferred a room with sea view.
Quiet place far away from noisy aquaparks, mainly elderly, European guests, so you can have your own space and listen to the sound of The waves. Friendly staff and excellent food. Dive centre near by, convenient jetty and boat dives available. They have their own divesites and usually we were the only divers around.
Prices are a bit high in comparison.
Everything was great, clean, the staff was amazing. Food was really good, Hanna is making best pancakes!
location is the best feature. nice long beach walks in both directions. The bay is calm and swimable
Food totally bland. lots of free soda beer and wine but pay for orange juice or any juice. not right. maybe have a card that gets punched for drinks. I was charged 5 dollars for a lemon in water in a country where with that money i could buy a kilo if lemons for that but. then people drank beer free. This is wrong
