Sangat Island Dive Resort

We loved our beachfront hut room. There was plenty of wind to keep the room cool. The food at the meals was very good and they accommodated my vegetarian diet. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. They provided beach towels.

The Coron Island Boat tour was overly expensive. Offering snack for purchase between meal times would be appreciated. It can get quite windy but at least it helps it stay cool. Having hot water in the showers would be ideal.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The absolute highlight of our Philippines trip!!Our stay at Sangat Island Dive Resort was nothing short of extraordinary, truly the highlight of our entire trip to the Philippines.From the moment we arrived on the island, it felt like stepping into a dream. The setting is unbelievably beautiful: crystal-clear water, lush jungle, peaceful beaches, and total serenity. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and you can fully disconnect and be present.What made the experience truly special, though, was the staff. Every single person was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They anticipated our needs, made us feel completely at home, and created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and personal. The food was fantastic, the accommodations were comfortable and charming, and everything was seamlessly taken care of.Sangat Island Dive Resort is more than just a place to stay — it’s an experience you carry with you long after you leave. If you’re visiting the Philippines and considering this resort, don’t hesitate. It’s pure magic, and we cannot wait to return.

The location, staff and food and facilities.

Beautiful, tranquil resort in an idyllic setting. All the resort staff were lovely and super friendly and helpful. On arrival we were met by name on the pier by Jennifer and Meryl who set the tone for the visit! Rooms: We were in a Beachside Chalet, which was right on the beach as the name suggest with a lovely view. The chalets are rustic but comfortable. No AC but we had a ceiling fan and two additional movable fans in the room (which we used ) and we slept well. No hot water, but we didn't miss it - its hot anyway so its nice to a have a shower to cool down. Water is cool, but not freezing.Food: was pleased by the food because I know some Philippine dishes can be heavy and fried, but there weren't many of these( a few, which were good !) Healthy home style cooking with lots of variety each day and fresh fruits at each meal. The Rock Bar which serves happy hour from 5 - 7 pm is a little gem.Diving: We chose Sangat as a dive resort. There was a mix of divers of varying abilities while we were there and the dive centre was on top of grouping people according to abilities for safe an enjoyable diving for all. Great dive staff who follow safe ( but not overbearing) dive practices. Ed was our guide for the week and took us through all the wrecks. He was excellent! The wrecks are the main attraction - there about 7 of them and they are all interesting and good to penetrate if you have the skill level to do so. Less experienced divers can also dive the wrecks without going inside. Lots to see on top of them also. Reefs: Much healthier and less bleached corals than I recently saw in the Maldives but fish life is pretty usual. Not really any big stuff. For non divers you would want to be happy with just chilling, reading, snorkelling - I think there's a few excursions you can do, but its very low key.

Nothing stands out

Unique location, nice beach, nice accommodation, no need for A/C, convenience of the dive shop, good selection in the bar, great espresso martinis, enough food, all was great. Transportation arranged and without problems.

The mosquito net was a little cumbersome but efficient. It would be useful if hairdryer were provided.

Awesome dive base for single, couples and families. The best diving and great instructors. Food was amazing and plentiful and super healthy!

Their Staff are amazing and it starts with Jennifer amd her crew- she make sure you are treated royally. You feel like you own your own private beach. Amazing adventure- we are not divers not have snorked before and we had a great time. I highly reccomend tonise their internal tours "island hopping tours" its amazing.

We truly enjoyed our short stay at eco-friendly Sangat Island. It is somewhat “off the grid”, but a great place to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of its surroundings! We loved being greeted every morning by the monkeys! And everyone was so kind and accommodating! Top-notch customer service and excellent food options! Highly recommend!

Review Wow… What a relaxing place to stay!! The staff is delightful, especially the head of Guest Relations, her name is JENNIFER. I have never met a more positive person than her. She remembers guests names and constantly wears a genuine smile on her face, making certain that every guest has a pleasant stay. She sets the tone for the entire staff. She is really the glue that holds the entire resort together.And CHEF RAFAEL is amazing. I enjoyed every single bite of my meals. He takes his craft seriously, and you will not be disappointed.TOM, who manages the Dive Shop is very professional and well informed, helping in every way possible. It is so nice to take a 15 minute boat ride out to a historic wreck, then enjoy the dive, and then come back to the resort to relax until your next dive.The raised cabins are comfortable, and every morning you wake up to paradise :-) I just can’t recommend this place enough!!

The position is extraordinary! A little hidden paradise. The staff at the diving center is very professional! We tried diving for our first time and they were incredibly supportive and patient with us. The reef just in front of the hotel makes it a wonderful experience!

Loved this resort; beautiful and tranquil. the huts are simple, but in keeping with the environmental ethos of the resort. The beachside huts are just a few metres from the ocean so you can drift off to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping on the sand. The food is simple but mostly delicious. Since we don't eat meat the staff went out of their way to ensure we still had plenty of options. There are three scuba dives organised most days so plenty of options whatever your degree of experience. One of the best experiences of our month long trip was our afternoon kayaking round the island to the mangroves and thermal spring; there is some lovely coral on the way, great for snorkeling (the coral directly in front of the resort is a bit washed out and rather sad looking) and once at the spring we had it entirely to ourselves and spent hours bathing in the hot water surrounded by nature. We took so long - plus the wind had picked up a bit - that the hotel sent out a boat to check we were ok and brought us back. If this resort is within your budget and you are looking for somewhere tranquil, away from the crowds, then look no further.

Nothing, though being so isolated the evenings are quiet (which suited us) and of course you have fewer options, such as for eating or doing a tour. When we asked at reception about tours we were told they had three but only one of them was operating, so a choice of one then, but no complaints, we had a good day visiting coron island (which is about an hour away on the boat).

Amazing location

Food low quality and not sufficient. Choice of food very limited. We had mornings with no choice at all at breakfast because all was finished!No airco, no hot water, no wifi in the room. Old worn out rooms. No change of towels. Low quality pillows, no amenities, no room phone, no telephone network. At check-out they bill you 4 percent extra for staff tips without asking approval. No acitivities organised at the property. Its way overpriced for what they offer you, basic needs are not met for the guest. I was very happy to leave this place. I do not recommend if you want a comfortable stay.

Loved the uncrowded feeling, the food was great and the accommodation was super comfortable!

I hesitate to even write this review fearing that too many people will discover this slice of paradise. However, they do such a good job here that they deserve the positive review. Do not come here with the expectation of absolute luxury, but absolute immersion in nature with just enough luxury given the limited infrastructure. A true eco-resort experience on the higher end of the scale. Come here for the amazing diving (Very professional and well run PADI dive shop with gear in good condition), snorkeling, kayaking, or just relaxing in a hammock. Quiet and peaceful place, not a party. I can't say enough about the genuine and hard working staff. You will leave knowing their names. I'll be back.

Be prepared for no air conditioning. Not an issue for most people during the months of November to March, but the hot wet season of April through October you definitely need to be ok with this. I understand that air conditioning is available in some rooms, and they may be adding more as they increase their solar energy capacity, so check with the resort if this is a concern.

Such a lovely place! Wonderful coral reef by the beach, great for snorkling.

Would have loved some snorkling tours or the like.

Lovely resort - very friendly staff and food was incredible. Jennifer was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it - we would return.

Drinks were expensive. Very windy and noisy which made sleeping very difficult but the weather wasn’t the resorts fault.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The location, the food and the staff are all excellent. The rooms are located on a private beach and all of them are great. The dive shop and diving are also amazing. They really go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. The hostess “Jennifer” is so sweet and welcoming. She’s always checking on all the guests to see if there is anything they need. They really do a great job here, including cooking special meals for any dietary requirements. I didn’t want to leave, as this was the best part of my vacation.

Nothing… everything is perfect!

It’s a peaceful place to rest between dives, most of the rooms are on the beach and they’re designed to catch a breeze with a bit of help from a fan - so nice not to need air con!

The cost of diving came with a premium. They also landed us with separate equipment rental at the very end with no mention of this or listing of it on their menu. They also charge for kayaks and snorkels - every other place we stayed at this price point includes these, especially when you are in a remote place.

The resort is a perfect balance on comfort and nature. All the necessities are well covered but the resort really lets the natural beauty of the island shine. The diving team were very professional and great fun, the dives are beautiful and I wish I could have done more.

Hard to fault anything

Diving Spots.

The location of the resort made it that you will not see the sun rising from the water not setting in the water. Weak pace of water in the shower. No hot water. Horrible gym.
