    Pros +

    • Very traditional and interesting place. Owner and staff were great and breakfast was delicious.
    • This is no ordinary hotel. It is a historic residence that has been thoughtfully restored and transformed into a hotel. While it offers modern amenities such as updated bathrooms, its true distinction lies in its setting within the ancient city. The location and panoramic views make it exceptional, with breathtaking vistas overlooking the valley. Guests can step directly into the narrow, winding streets of the old city, easily reaching major attractions, local shops, and authentic marketplaces. This seamless blend of history, location, and scenery creates a truly priceless and unique experience.
    • The hotel was amazing. Easy to get by car. People met us greatly. The hotel is made of stone which feels like you stay in castle. Amazing breakfast. The personnel were grateful.

    Cons -

    • Room was dark and cave-like. Twin bed had wooden sides that were uncomfortable. Know that this place is not convenient to walk to any close restaurants. You have to go up lots of uneven steps. Not the greatest if you are a senior like me.
    • expect things not to be perfect, people there are doing their daily work. but you will enjoy.
    • I liked all.

It's in a very scenic area with an outdoor breakfast area. It's very quiet. Other hotels line a very busy noisy. It's a small boutique place with beautiful views south. It's a small climb up about 10 rock stairs to the entrance. They feature rooms that were stone caverns. A unique experience. I'm 6'5" and needed to bend over to enter and exit the bathroom that had a Turkish style bath stone seats with basins and a full shower. Very hot water. The climate control worked very well. The staff is extremely helpful. One spoke fluent English. They helped with the luggage. Breakfast is typical middle eastern with great bread honey preserves feta cheese and olives with fresh fruit and egg dishes on request. Note that you'll need mobility to get up to restaurants shopping or use a taxiThere's always someone at the front desk close by

The rooms could use more ventilation since they use heat pumps. The bathroom has a fan. Since you are inside stone caverns, the wifi is spotty. If you leave the door open slightly, it's better.

I loved absolutely everything about this magical mystical property especially the owner, Noah! He is a hands on owner that does what he loves and loves what he does! He is always available from the time of the reservation to check out! The places I had in my heart to visit are remote and I planned to rent a car which would have been more of a disaster that I can possibly say! I do trauma for a living and I would have been a recipient without a doubt if Noah did not intervene and ensure not only my safety but made sure I went every single place on my list and more!!li He is an incredibly wonderful man who lives to please his guests and make dreams come true!!It is remote but so, so, so worth the challenge to get there and I plan to return! Oh, I didn’t mention the restaurant that we went to. It was built over the Euphrates river and sat with your feet in the water as you had lunch I could go on forever!!! Magic!!!! Pure magic!!!

    That I had to leave!!!

The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom facilities were nice

It was a bit far from the city center and confusing to find

went on a tour to most of the European countries and this place was one of the most beautiful places to stay that I visited. You feel that it is a place close to the soul that makes you live a different architectural experience that connects the recent past with the present.A simple and clean place where you can have a different spiritual experience. The owner of the place was a cultured, friendly and generous person who tried to provide us with all means of comfort. In the end, it was a more than wonderful breakfast on his balcony overlooking the valley.

My wife and four of her friends (a group of 5 women) had an absolutely wonderful stay at Rumet Paşa Konağı in Mardin. From the moment they arrived, they were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout their entire stay — always ready to give advice, directions, and support when needed. They stayed in a very spacious and comfortable room, which was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. One of the highlights of their stay was the terrace with a breathtaking view over the city. It was the perfect place to relax, especially during sunrise and sunset.Another unforgettable aspect was the breakfast. It was truly exceptional — a wide variety of fresh, high-quality, and delicious items were served every morning. Everything was beautifully presented and the taste was absolutely gourmet level. It was clear that a lot of care and thought was put into both the selection and the preparation. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm, authentic, and welcoming. It’s a place that reflects the true spirit of Mardin — full of history, charm, and genuine hospitality. We would wholeheartedly recommend Rumet Paşa Konağı to anyone looking for a memorable and high-quality experience in Mardin. It’s more than just a hotel — it’s a place where you feel truly taken care of.

The hotel is great. Recently renovated. Staff was superb and the owner made sure that all of our needs were met. The hotel also had a small parking area which we made use of. Great hotel concept, and attentive staff. Thank you all for making our stay a memorable one!

Hotel is not in the centre of Mardin, but its a short car ride away.

Great staff, especially the owner/manager who was very nice and aiming to please, beautiful old building, good amount of space in the room, good breakfast, good location in the old town, nice terraces.

Very damp & musty room, TV too old to be able to watch Netflix, Internet would cut out briefly several times a day, no room cleaning in 4 nights/emptying trash/replenish coffee, instant coffee at breakfast, thin doors/noise.

Very good accommodation, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast on the terrace, including a cooked tomato and egg dish.

It’s a beautiful old classical Mardin house with wonderful view of Mesopotamia.

    9FrancescoPosted on: 5-1-2025

The hotel is located in the old part of Mardin, which allows you to visit all the main places in the city easily. I really liked the room, as it had all facilities I needed. It was also very clean and the shower was good too. The breakfast was very good and abundant and both Mr Nuh and the rest of the staff were very helpful and always ready to help. They also helped me arrange transportation to Deyrulzafaran. Also, they were always ready to offer me a glass of tea whenever I was around, which made me feel very welcome. I must say that I felt at home there and would definitely stay there again! Thank you!

    Can't really think of anything.

What makes this hotel truly amazing is the manager and staff. His support during my stay made many activities in Mardin only even possible such as a tour of the area and its monasteries. The homemade breakfast on the terrace overlooking the landscape was a further wonderful experience.

    10EricPosted on: 4-16-2025

This has been the best accommodation I’ve ever had in Turkey. The host is the nicest and most generous you’ll ever meet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. There is a terrace with a beautiful view of the Mesopotamian plain below. All this for a very reasonable price. Also, the wifi works!

    10CristianaPosted on: 4-13-2025

Nuh offered us exemplary Mesopotamian hospitality in all sense of the word. He exceeded by far our modest expectations in everything from room, to breakfast to additional help with your information, airport shuttle. In fact, he really makes sure his hotel's guests are treated well and made to feel welcome. Any doubt or issue you may find yourself having there, he and the staff are sure to have a solution. Visit Mardin and Rutem Pasa Konagi and be one of those pioneers of undiscovered travel gems.

The hotel is located in the historical part of Mardin. The hotel has its own parking. The owner is very friendly, he told in detail about the city and the surrounding area. Breakfasts were tasty. We were pleased with the trip and the hotel.
