    • The property is a really konak, in eski mardin ?, it is big with 3 terrace, our room was good, the breakfast also, the staff was so friendly and helpful ( specially Mr Mehmet, the worker in the kitchen ? and night shift staff) they were very welcoming and helpful, i loved the vibes of the hotel , thank you so much
    • Ankahan Konaği is central but secluded.Overlooking the vast plains of what was once Mesopotamia . Our time spent there turned out to be unique & magical. Hotel manger Naïf Omur is endlessly positive , entertaining & terrific help. Our special thanks to Ahmet Kuzu who also took care with anything we needed. We felt blessed to have spent a few late nights sitting under the stars on the spacious terrace while he played his musical instrument & sang to us… & Naïf joined in too! It was beautiful. We will always remember the amazing time we had at Ankahan Konaği - Mardin .We were sad to leave & really appreciated the help Naïf & Ahmet gave by carrying our luggage to the taxi at street level.
    • Hotel beautifully converted in old house down a quiet street in old part of Mardin. Lovely room with an amazing view over the plains of Mesopotamia. Comfortable bed, good shower with plenty of hot water.Staff very friendly and helpful. Good Turkish breakfast.Nice terrace to sit and watch the sunset.Very glad they helped us carry our cases from the road down to the hotel and back again!

    Cons -

    • Unfortunately the stairs going to the hotel is far from the main road , specially with luggage going up or down , but the good thing is the stuff helped us during our arrival and leaving ?
    • Quiet with a wonderful rooftop view.
    • Not a problem for us but 5 minute walk down steep steps to get to the hotel plus lots of levels in the hotel.

    -Staff is really helpful-Superb location

    - Not the cleanest hotel ive stayed but the city has lower hygiene standards overall so it's expected.- Our rooms had no windows- We are not happy at all with the private tour they organised. Just rent a car.

We stayed in this wonderfull hotel in Mardin for 3 days. It was a dream - directly at the hillside with several open terasses . In the night we could sit watching the moon and the stars, an be part of the universe. In the morning you could se the sunrise and the open and beatifull landscape of Mesopotamia., witch brougt you back to acient time. The daily leader speek english and is very helpfull, and ready to do, what ever you want. The hole staff kind and open.We can higly recomand this placeEllen + Jens Peter - Denmark

The hotel is extraordinary! The moment you enter the courtyard you feel like you stepped back in time. The views of Mesopotamia from all the various terraces are breathtaking. We stayed in the Mesopotamia room and felt like royalty. One of the most unique hotels we stayed at. They serve a lovely Turkish breakfast each morning and the hotel manager Naif went out of his way to accommodate us and make us feel welcomed. Turkish hospitality at its best. The hotel is also in the heart of the town with a great location. I will just mention there are many steps between the main road/town and the hotel so not ideal for elderly or someone with limited mobility.

The staff were very accomodating with great food, great interactions and great memories were created. I was so happy with my stay here and am so glad we chose this Konak. Would highly recommend do anyone that is going to Mardin

The hotel is very beautiful. Our room was very comfortable, the view from the terrace incredible and the staff very helpful. Very good breakfast too. Last but not least, they let us stay in a better room that we had initially booked for the same price.

Staff were lovely and very helpful including finding us transportation for a cross country trip and coming to the room to troubleshoot several issues, complimentary tea and breakfast which included hot eggs and other breads cheeses etc

A little bit off the beaten path (not on main street need to take several steps to get there), neighboring kids started to do fireworks which was very loud and we did see a few ants in the room.

Our stay at Ankahan Konagi was absolutely wonderful. our room was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable in the middle of August desert heat. Naïf’s hospitality though was what made our stay particularly special. I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who visits Mardin.

    Nothing!

the breakfast was great. location was great.Cardia was fantastic - she was always very friendly and happy. She cheerfully kept me supplied with extra teas and coffees and fruit whenever i asked. the view was greatthe balcony was fantasticit was quiet.

the fridge in the room didnt work. the air con wasnt very good at all and one night it just stopped working.the shower is in the toilet. ewww.the room was very small

Super friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful views from the terrace. Excellent included breakfast. Close to the main sites.

The room door had big gaps in it. And the windows faced a lounge area room. A small window lacked curtains and the lounge room light was always on. Thankfully no noisy guests during the night.Bathroom unfourtunately wasn't cleaned properly, but I didn't point that out.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. If you want to feel the unique atmosphere of Mardin it will be the right choice. The hotel is conveniently located near the main road, all attractions and the parking of the neighboring hotel Gazi Konagi, where guests of Ankahan Konagi can also leave their car for a fee (which is rarely for Mardin located on the stairs and narrow streets). The hotel is an incredibly beautiful medieval mansion with a beautiful courtyard and rooftop terraces that offer unreal view to Mesopotamia and Syria. Each of the 11 rooms has a unique design, some rooms even have a private hammam. We stayed in the Reyhan room, which was incredibly beautiful, medieval and colorful. A very good Turkish breakfast is served in the morning. We would like to thank the hotel staff who were very helpful and attentive in everything. Special thanks to manager Naif, who is the right person in the right place, very knowledgeable and attentive. He met us at the parking, showed us the hotel, provided with all the necessary information about what to visit, where to eat, etc., and also arranged our trip to Dara, monasteries, Kasymie madrasah, as well as our return transfer. It was clear that he loves his city and made every effort to make us leave the best memories about Mardin.

The Hotel is a very unique one, very nice unusual decoration with a mix of european old style and arab style. The hotel has amazing views and is very close to the old town main city

The shower could be more protected for water not to go to the floor Need more plugs on the roomBut overall everything was really fine

Everything : staff very friendly, location, room, breakfast.

A wonderful stay where staff go above and beyond with their service and cleanliness. The rooms are spotless, the location is in a great spot, in Old Mardin with touristic spots nearby. The staff will stop at nothing to ensure your stay at Mardin is everything you wanted. The only thing I’d pick on is the amount of stairs taken to get there BUT this is in no way the hotels fault as Mardin has stairs everywhere to get to anywhere! Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back!

    Nothing!

Our room was like a museum. There are various places to sit outside with incredible views. Extremely quiet, very friendly staff and a great breakfast.

Particular highlights:The sweeping view from the terrace of the Mesopotamian plainSpotless throughout, beautiful rooms decorated in traditional stylePlentiful and delicious breakfastElif on the front desk was so helpful and nice

Nothing. If travelling with little children/prams or elderly folk, it’s worth knowing there are a few steps to the main street, but for a person of average fitness it’s about a two minute walk. My 77 year old mum managed just fine, and we appreciated being away from the noise of the main street . And there’s a nice little bar en route!

    10BertrandPosted on: 3-1-2024

The hotel is located in the old town and is very close from the main street where you can find restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The room is very comfortable.

The breakfast was lovely and clearly night quality ingredients. The staff were very helpful and answered all my questions. They also arranged for a private tour with a car and driver, the driver was very enthusiastic and friendly and the price was very reasonable for such a long tour around the surrounding area and sites.
