Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

We stayed at this beautiful luxury hotel in Thailand for a few days during our second honeymoon, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made us feel very special and went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect.The food at the hotel was excellent, and dinner in particular was outstanding, with a wide variety of high-quality options. While the overall experience is quite expensive compared to typical Thailand prices, it is absolutely worth it for the level of service, comfort, and luxury you receive.Our room was spotless, flawless, and extremely comfortable. Housekeeping was impeccable, and everything felt fresh, clean, and very well maintained throughout our stay. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our time together.Overall, this hotel offers an exceptional combination of luxury, comfort, and outstanding service. It’s an ideal choice for couples, honeymoons, or anyone looking for a special and memorable stay. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

The hotel is quite distant from restaurants and shops, more secluded, so our explorations were limited to cab rides.

A week of great indulging experience in Renaissance. Great, quite property -well cared for - situated at coral beach - with 2 different swimming pools, and 2 restaurants where we had number of great meals throughout our stay. The rooms are comfortable and large with a balcony. The beds have high sleeping comfort. Superior breakfast with a special service for eggs, freshly baked waffles and pancakes, verity of Asian and European food and drinks - not repetitive. Hotel organizes different activity as yoga, Pilates, Thai boxing etc.

The beach is coral - great to look at - less to swim in - very shallow as well in high tide. Property operates free shuttle buses to 2 nearest beaches, which are great, however it is not "swimming" out the door experience.

Only downside for us was that the cupbords and furniture all together in our Deluxe Sea View Room could really use a renovation. The cupboards were a bit dusty where we wanted to put our clothes in. Also the extremely shallow water at the beach is kind of a shame, it’s only about knee high maximum for like 100 meters

The hotel was in a quiet location, the two pools were great and the pool side service really good. The breakfast was also very good - though some of the senior staff were a little abrasive.

Follow up on any requests - I had asked for interconnecting/rooms with specific bedding and received a generic - we will attempt to accommodate response. On arrival, the senior staff insisted that it was not possible due to the rooms I had booked. Had I been made aware of that, I would have changed my arrangements. Housekeeping were responsive but didn't always check for toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner and other useable items.

The maintenance and housekeeping staff were amazing.The pools are lovely - the beach pool (and pool bar) are very inviting. And the long pool (1.2m) very quite.Resort provided a shuttle into nearby towns (the closest town approx 3km) three times per day.

The reception staff - they were insincere, promising all and delivering nothing, while looking at their screens and saying sorry.The number of stairs - while you may use a cart to get around the resort, you are faced with stairs to get to the pools, beach, restaurants and spa. The age and condition of the resort - it appears the resort does not fix issues unless a guest complains; during our stay the shower, TV and air conditioner needed repair/replacement. Plus the conditioner container ran out of liquid.The ocean/sea view is not worth the extra $ unless you are on floors 5 or 6.

Quieter location and very clean and tidy - the staff where outstanding

They mis-sell their “All Inclusive” package to me. I booked Vila for $560 per night with all inclusive package. However, they did not communicate me earlier that “all Inclusive” food menu is different from their normal menu. Vila without all inclusive package was around $360 per night. I paid extra $200 per night for all inclusive package and I could not get benefits. They offered very limited food items and drink. Only 3 courses of meal per session. And menu was same for lunch and dinner. No variety I could benefit more if I had not opted for all inclusive. Obviously, I don’t eat and drink for $200 a day. My money got wasted. Moreover, private pool with vila was very small. If i opted without pool, it would have costed me less than $100 per night. So paid facilities were not value for money.

This was the best place I have ever been and the nicest staff I have every seen in my life. The whole week was just like in paradise and for the first time in my life I was really sad that I cannot stay more days. Thank you to all in this lovely resort and I hope and I trust I will returt and see this place and people again. Bye a see you (I hope soon)

Mosquitos, but this is normal even in small jungles. You have to be ready and buy some spray against it in time. We have always forgot to buy it, but they have it there also in restaurants:)

The room - private pool with a beach view - was well worth the splurge. A nice spot for people who prefer total privacy while dipping in pool. The room was well maintained and always clean. The view was unbeatable even at night. Easy access to beach as well.The property had options to rent bikes or cars with not much of a rate difference from outside places (this according to google search, not enquired in person) and staff where always helpful with suggestions about places to visit or food to try out.The inclusive breakfast had both Thai options as well as regular ones like cereals, bread etc. Good profile taste wise.All in all would suggest the property for a calm and relaxing stay.

Whether it’s the free happy hour on the beach or the various events throughout the week, there’s always something fun and engaging to do. I love that the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip of bars and restaurants of chaweng although you can always take a shuttle van provided by the hotel daily to make a trip down down, which was perfect for what we wanted. and a small walk down to the beach for a Nice walk In the mornings was perfect. the quiet and peaceful surroundings complimented out stay here. the resort is amongst a beautiful landscape of trees that are well maintained o the entire resort we didn't experience any major insect issues. everything in the resort was walking distance, from the hotel buffet to the restaurants and pools. we stayed in villa along the beach front which we'd highly recommend if you were travelling with you partner. overall, it was a perfect and comfortable stay. every staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

I liked how the hotel looked and can walk down the road to places, breakfast was everything I needed and the staff were amazing. It was a very friendly hotel and staff were very helpful at reception.

The hotel was wonderful with excellent amenities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the rooms beautifully kept. Breakfast options were also very good with options of fresh juices and freshly made pancakes, waffles and eggs. Spa facilities were very good albeit expensive. Would love to stay here again.

Toilets don’t have a lock and the bath tub is outside.
