Steps away from the beach, great bungalows and rooms were cleaned daily. Family of friendly cats lived on the property.

Located a bit far away from popular areas so difficult to get around. Fruit bats live on the palm trees in the resort and come out to hunt at night, which was a little scary.

Nice quiet area near scenic beach. Good breakfast buffet. Seaview restaurant with good food.

Pool has a strange design which is not functional for swimming but still nice to cool off in.

The location

I've stayed in many resorts in Koh Samui and I've never came across a resort without a hot shower. The shower did not heat up properly and when I told the staff about it they told me to put the pressure of the shower to low so that will make it hotter.

Great location for a beach at proximity, really clean and great value for the money.

The beach can get crowded as it's small as crystal bay is getting some light by influencers

Beautiful, idyllic beach, clean rooms with spacious balconies. Very kind hosts at the reception, patiently explained how to start the keyless Honda bike.

Amazing location, moments from a 7/11 and beachfront! Rooms were spacious and bathroom was large and clean. Regularly cleaned rooms and provided water, fresh linens, and had very lovely and helpful staff. Room was very clean. Provided beach towels. Had a restaurant and the pool was very clean. Gorgeous beach (one of the best!). They do daily maintenance on the property (ie; trimming hedges, gardening, washing walkways).

Some linens were lightly stained.

If you are looking for an amazing pool, this isn’t it. But who cares the beach is 50 steps away.

Gardens were well maintained.Rooms were serviced every day.Breakfast was ok.We had a detached bungalow, with garden and sea view, which was pleasant.Easy walking distance of a 7eleven, and local restaurants.Purchase a mosquito plug in or spray, as needed in this area.

Thongtakian resort is an amazing location for budget friendly users and in one of the best beaches on Koh Samui. The property is quite basic and old especially the beach bungalows however it’s perfect for the price and location. The staff is really friendly and the beach bar is cute for a coffee or juice by the ocean.

The property is a little outdated as mentioned. It also doesn’t provide scooter service and no room service or any kind of service during the evening. The last order for the beach bar is 7:30 pm which is quite early.

EVERYTHING! It was the most beautiful stay we had in Thailand. We had the bungalow with sea view and it was literally 10 meters from the beach. We couldn’t be more happy when we got there and saw the place. We spent 5 nights (we couldn’t book for 7) and it was just perfect. Would spend 15 more days if possible. Staff is great, rooms are super comfortable and clean. You get water and room service everyday. 7 eleven is one block from the hotel and you also have great restaurants options next to it. The pool is great as well, we used it every day in the afternoons. You can also rent scooters. We did it one day but the rest of the days we just stayed in Crystal Beach that is the most beautiful one in the island. We were so sad we had to leave. Would recommend 100%.

The beach was beautiful, the staff exceptional and the room functional.

Parking was limited and food was relatively expensive though good.

The previous occupants of our had obviously been smoking dope and the odor way unbearable. The cleaning staff did their best to clear the air but it didn’t work very well. Unfortunately the hotel was full and there was not another room to move us into.

Absolutely wonderful bungalows (3.5 star) and grounds. Very clean. Copious mature greenery lined the short walk to the beach. Loved the smallish pool - very comfortable for adults lounging in the water. Beach had lots of shade options on the sand after 11 am, all the way until sunset. Lots of sunny areas on the sand too! No seaweed! Swimming is best at high tide but possible at low tide…with more rocks underfoot. Great staff. Lots of good local dining options (~12) within 5 minute walk.

Beach is ~200 m long (very small) and attracts several hundred sunbathers and swimmers between 9 am and 4:30 pm. Extremely busy with people. No sense of relaxation or quiet. Fairly rocky underwater, but there are some areas of the beach without rocks.

Basic and Clean, nice staff, good location just near a few nice restaurants up the street. Nice sitting area outside the room i case it rains. The fruit shakes at the restaurant are perfect!

The water pressure in the shower could be better, water temperature tends to move between hot and cold. but still great value for money.

Perfect location, right next to the beach. Surrounded by beautiful greenery in the bungalows. The pool was lovely.
