    Pros +

    • Lovely Samui family-run place, in an amazing location. I had a little bungalow with beach view, and the massage on the property right on the beach was very good too.
    • Being right on the beach was wonderful. It was not crowded because the owner does not rent all available rooms. The ease of interacting with staff was great. Great restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
    • Incredible location. Quiet spot, that has lots of shops, and restaurants around. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

    Cons -

    • I loved everything!
    • The rooms are a little outdated but, they are still fine. It was an extra $500 baht a night for air conditioning which was a little steep.
    • The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable. I knew the property was “rustic” but sleeping was tough with such a hard bed. I went and purchased an extra pillow as I can’t sleep with just one.

Stones on the beach. Sunrise. Quite.

Very cheap and great value for money, the staff were exceptionally friendly alongside the owner which really made the experience. It’s located right on the beach with a lovely walk only 10 meters away. Theres a string of local shops and bars within a short walking distance. The rooms are quite warm with just a fan no air-con which would be the only downside. Besides that, I’d highly recommend this location to others :)

Great position - fantastic beach. Pom, the owner, is lovely.

The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable. I knew the property was “rustic” but sleeping was tough with such a hard bed. I went and purchased an extra pillow as I can’t sleep with just one.

The location is super nice and the owner was really friendly. Also the place was clean.

I think the property was great 30 years ago but since then there has been zero investment. My fridge, bed, bathroom etc were all really old. Also there were a bunch or roosters on the property which means sleep after 6am was impossible

It's a 1* place, so not posh. However, it was clean and comfortable and as I only booked with 2 days notice great value for money. The owners are lovely (for example gave me bananas from the tree outside my room), and a couple of minor issues with the room were literally, dealt with immediately. I guess I'd describe it as slightly old world but welcoming and homely. I really liked my stay. The location is superb. At the end of Lamai beach (and right on it) so away from the hub but with a nice walk along the beach (with plenty of places to stop off) into town. Also some really nice places to eat and drink within 200yds, for a variety of tastes and budgets: Walk on the Rock and Beluga were both great. The weather was not great during my stay so it was particularly important that I felt comfortable in the resort and locally. If I go to Samui again I'd very happily stay here.

The weather! But that's obviously beyond their control. It's a nice place to stay

The location was incredible, at the end of Lamai beach, which is really nice for swimming, a 5 minute walk to the grandma and grandpa rocks. The 3 hotel staff were very friendly.

The property was as expected for the price. It was old and maintenance is not there strong suit.

    Bad

Moody owner, can be very aggressive. Very poor service and rooms infested with ants. For the price, you can find much better service. Avoid this place!

    8FinnPosted on: 1-17-2025

It’s nice sitting on the porch in the evenings I found and the room is what you payed. The area in my opinion is the best but, has some great bars on the nice beach with the tourist attraction around the corner. Close to a nice row of restaurants with some great food and staff there as well.

Just the shower and toilet but it wasn’t the end of the world.

    10OliverPosted on: 1-17-2025

Everything. The location is great, right at the end of the beach in Lamai. So also quieter...... The owner and the staff are a fantastic! Really friendly place to be

It’s in a beautiful yet quiet location with access to go find some more entertainment close by. The swimming is great. The grounds are cute. Pong the owner is very hospital, and she takes everyone’s health very seriously. I like how you can have the windows open while still being secure, to have fresh air while you sleep. Compared to other hotels many of which have mold, exasperated by the AC, I could wake up with out any issues with my respiratory system. Thank you Pong ❤️

If u need luxury, this is not for you.

    4DenisPosted on: 12-24-2024

The owner is pretty welcoming, the sea is really close, you can hear the sound of waves at night

The facility is really rundown, no ameneties, the cleanliness isn't the best, it's very hard to enjoy staying here..

    8MariaPosted on: 9-21-2024

This place has a great potential- it’s waterfront, there is the restaurant&bar just next door, it’s private and quiet. Local restaurants 3 mins by walk. Nice snorkelling spot thank you for borrowing masks:)

Some things been missing - it would be much more comfortable if we have them - at least 2 more pillows, blanket, more toilet paper and maybe TV and kettle too. Also please note, if you want to get to the beach-need to go down by the rocks.

While not a flashy resort, Sunrise is perfect if you’re looking to chill out away from the busier of part of Lamai beach. It’s so quiet and the water is on yr door step. A few steps from the super cute Rock Bar, which is perfect for a cocktail at sundown (but they keep the noise low at night!). The host Puum is always available should you need anything and she is a lovely soul - make sure you take time to chat with her. Loved my time here.

I loved the location and the host was very friendly and accommodating.not luxury but value for money. the view from the front bungalow was great. but the other bungalows do not have the same view or size.

this is not just about sunrise its a common thing. i do not like air con and need to be able to open a window. most accommodations have no screens or mosquito nets. either would be ok.

Lovely place and quiet just beachfront of lamai beach. Nice bangalows with small fridge inside working well, I loved the garden with the plants and very nice space to chill out on the beach just in front of the resort. Away from the main road so it's very quiet. But also just less than 5 min walking from the main road and you have around super market, 7-11, massage spots, restaurants and Cafe bars.Very helpful and friendly staff.

    Everything excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Bungalow. The facilities are very basic but the location is excellent. There is no restaurant but Sunrise Bungalows is next door to a resort that has a restaurant and high end coffee (which you can access from the beach on your doorstep) You get a towel each, but no toiletries or minibar.

For the price we were happy to have a clean bed with a bathroom on the beach but keep in mind that there is NO restaurant, NO toiletries, and NO minibar.

    Location, and friendly staff

The bed is hard, the pillow is too high for the neck, I tried to talk to exchange but they don't have spare. 5000bath for 4 nights, only with Fan and old furnitures is okay but at least should have spare pillow.
