I liked the room

The food needs to be improved in the restaurants with more fresh foods. The meals did not seem well prepared compared to outside local restaurants. Servings were average but overall taste and quality needs to be improved

I live on Koh Phangan and after many years of being disapointed with my overnight stays while on business on Samui, when i recently found Mai Samui, I've now made it my go-to hotel that i stay at, regardless of where my meetings are. The value, consistency and customer service is unmatched without getting into Anantara level stuff.

i Stayed 7+ nights. The breakfast was the same every morning. That said, if you stay for only a few nights, it's all good. Being a gym guy, its hard to be completely satisfied with any hotel gym.. as its usually the last thing they think to maintain. This gym wasn't any different. Yet featured a brand new manduka yoga mat. So someone is clearly paying attention. Maybe this review serve as a reminder to check the functionality of your equipment and maybe replaces some with modern stuff.

We had an upgrade to a villa with private pool.Stunning finishes and design.

The resort is not walking distance to restaurants etc but we knew that when we booked.The Hotels Pub had excellent food.Nothing not to like actually a beautiful, quite resort.

Huge pool, very clean( don’t listen the reviews it’s green and dirty) tiles are dark which makes the water darker. Loved the pool. Beach nice but ypu need shoes for swimming in to the see unless you will walk steps away where the beach is gorgeous.

Bed is big bud uncomfortable, very creaky, bedding uncomfortable too. Room service always afternoon when you comeback and need to use the bathroom.Basic and simple breakfast, boring same every day.

This resort is very impressive, traditional and spacious, the large pool is amazing and the 2 restaurants are set out well.We stayed in a pool access room which was amazing with its giant stone bathing area. Luckily, we were in the section close to the ocean so our room had steps into the large pool, we would have been disappointed if we were in a room 2 or 3 down where their pool was only waist deep.One very good service was the free shuttle bus to town where the drivers were very helpful.Breakfast is very good all though the same every day and all our room service meals were also good.The resort is split into 2 sections with guests telling us that the kids pool in the section furthermost from the ocean has a tinge of green and not inviting, also a few of the rooms are not clean to a point one guest showed us photos of mould in their sinks.The resort has so much potential and may once have been very good to stay at but sadly we were very disappointed in the attitude of most of the staff, not that they were rude just none engaging or even interested in helping guests, every morning at breakfast we would have to ask for something that’s missing whether it be a knife or fork or simply a glass, very frustrating when members of staff would stand next to the empty cutely section when they only had one simple job to do and stand there as if everything is ok. My wife would not go to breakfast after the 3rd day due to the sad atmosphere.Back in the room the towels would be taken but not replaced, some days room service plates would sit at the door all day.The poor quality of the staff flowed into the so-called pool bar area which was only open from 12 noon till 6pm where every 20 minutes or so you would have to ask for the music to be turned back on which sadly, we gave up on and sat in silence most of the time making the resort have no atmosphere at all. There was no cocktails available, the beers weren’t cold and a very poor selection of alcoholic beverages availa

Very nice place, worth the money!

Staff weren't great, phone didn't work and the balcony door lock was broke and told them to fix it but they don't. I got food poisoning from the meal on the night, then told them and they made me pay for it and said I should of rang and told them on the night... I then explained and said I was stuck on the toilet all night and the phone you didn't fix is still broke... so how can I tell them... all that in one night

Beautiful design. Secluded location. Friendly, kind staff. Great breakfast. Extremely tranquil. Beryl's Bar nearby a classic. Close to some great restaurants and bars if you have a motorbike. Perfect for relaxation. We loved the spa bath on our balcony.

The beach is not good but we took the chance to visit other places. The whole place needs an update but having said that it's still stunning. Housekeeping was hit and miss.

Staff were amazingly friendly and courteous.

Staff at breakfast were at times rather unattentive. Tables were often left without cutlery and uncleared of old plates and food. The pool bar beach area was pretty quiet and closed at 6 pm. That great if u want that. It just seemed like the resort was in siesta mode for the month of Feb. Felt like more of a 4 star resort for that reason.

Very good breakfast, the location was perfect to watch the sunset and to relax near the beach.

For a five star hotel, the cleaning could be better, such as hairs in the jacuzzi and trash unchanged.

Very dated . Not clean . Pool bar closes too early . Beach is completely stoned .No sand . Hotel beach dirty , never cleaned . Air con didn’t work . Cleaners didn’t remove dirty glasses .

The installations are beautiful!! The resort is super nice and the rooms are huge!

Although it’s said to be a 5 star hotel. It is definitely not. The staff barely speak English, not attentive at all at check-in or during our stay in general. Room was dusty, and the clean up daily service is completely surface level, very mediocre. The hotel beach has very few sunbeds and even some that are broken. The food is very regular, and breakfast is just ok. Not at a 5 star hotel level. Although the hotel is BEAUITUL, it seems a bit not attended

The style of this hotel was nice with a very large pool and the rooms were nice. Could do with a little bit more of a vibe but it was very tranquil.

Was very remote and the images made it look so much nicer but still overall it was a nice clean hotel

the beach isnt so nice, and only beach massage is 1 person in nearby accomodation, who closes at 5 and is usually busy

Great location to just relax. Good restaurants around the location. The wi-fi was really fast. If you walk around 100 meters down the beach it gets less rocky.

Water went out during the night, bad water pressure all day. I suspect that there was ongoing maintenance for the main season.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was great and the room was comfortable.

One evening I returned to my room to find it had not been cleaned and there was a large local insect in my room. I spoke with the hotel desk and they removed the large insect and arranged for the room to be cleaned.

It is so very dated and not maintained.We could feel from the moment we entered the facilities that staff was used to hearing negative feedback. Even normal questions were answered as if they were ready to start a discussion.When checking out, they did not even ask if everything was okay or how our stay was..Apparently there is water shortage of Samui, which we were not aware of. So we were quite surprised that suddenly there was no water coming out of the shower and sink. Had to finish washing my hands with the drinking water that we had.I know the hotel is not at fault for water shortage, but informing the guests that this can happen would have been helpful.There were a ton of ants in our room (3rd floor).Same with the breakfast buffet. Next to the glasses for drinks, there was a bulk of ants running around.I am not fully sure that the linen on our bed was changed before we checked in.I have so many more pictures to share, but unfortunately, booking.com only allows for upload of 4 pictures.As we only stayed for one night, we didn’t bother to start a discussion with staff. I don’t really think they would have had a solution anyway as the whole resort looks like it is not being maintained with the required work.

Almost everythin perfect: quiet location, pleasant staff, comfortable bed, amazing bathtub, diverse breakfast

The age of the resort itself can be seen in lots of details in the room or ouside facilities. A reason could be the period when we had the accomodation since was not the high season (this was refelected also in the price - around 60-70% discoubt), but for a full price the expectation is to have this kind details fixed accordingly.

we loved the pool, and the breakfast was lovely and hiring the scooter staff involved were very accommodating, the room was very clean and comfortable :-)
