Park Residency Koothattukulam

Cleanliness of the room

Parking facility's not enough, park on the road, infront of the hotel and the presence of their bar and these customers vehicles makes parking difficult.

Spacious room

No covered parking . Very limited parking space adjacent to the highway in front of the hotel. As the hotel is very close to busy road , it can be very noisy at times

Location

Bedroom was not clean. Bedsheets and pillows were dirty and had stains on the white bedsheet

Location

Blankets are not available in the rooms, toilet not cleaned, Bed cover has not washed ,

The location within the town of Koothattukulam was convenient. Auto rickshaws were readily available at the entrance. The air conditioning and high speed fan were operational.

Housekeeping: The room was untidy and smelled disgusting. Upon entry/inspection of the room, I noticed hair on the bed and hair in the bathroom drain. The toilet was stained and dirty. The room was not properly cleaned. The hotel corridor was dirty and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I disinfected the bathroom and frequently used surfaces!w/ Lysol and covered the bed and pillows w/ my own bedsheet and pillow covers before I felt comfortable enough to settle in. The screen-less window was left open to allow in mosquitoes and flies. I had to close the window and prepare the room w/ insect repellent before I could unpack my suitcases. Water/Plumbing: Every day for six days, whenever I returned to the room, the bathroom lacked water pressure to operate the shower head. The listing, however, boasted a shower. There was no warm/hot water for use. On most days, the sink and toilet were not operational. Staff: Incompetence was evident. By the third day, I felt unsafe because they continued to lie about the water situation and I felt unsafe because my passport/visa info was provided at check-in. The manager, clearly incompetent, stated there were no such concerns from other guests about the water/plumbing situation. I found that to be suspicious. Perhaps, the other guests were not concerned about access to clean water and safe hygiene practices. I had an uneasy feeling the facility is involved in unsavory dealings. Booking.com should investigate further. I am contemplating contacting my embassy to request a special note to be attached to my documents for added safety and security. Without other options, I endured the discomfort for six nights and I was charged the full amount to stay at this basic hotel. Major housekeeping, plumbing, and staffing improvements are necessary for this property to actually be “luxurious”, as they falsely advertise.
