Shinshin Hotel Jeju Ocean

Huge room for 4 people, with a nice view of Seogwipo city. Just a short walk away were the local markets and plenty of amazing food options in the heart of Seogwipo. Very clean, spacious and very comfortable to stay in.The staff were lovely and even helped us bring our food delivery straight to our door. They do speak some English but we mostly used a translation device and had no issues.Washing machine, refrigerator, freezer and hairdryer were provided.There were plenty of free private parking spots in the hotel basement.

The bathroom has a strange setup. The shower and toilets are in their own stalls while the sink and mirror are located on the side of the entrance. This meant that it was hard to get changed when showering since the shower stall only just had enough space to shower and there was nowhere to hang your clothes other than outside near the sink.Staff sometimes forgot to provide the correct number of towels, or mugs but we simply requested it in the morning and it was resolved.

The only problem we’ve had was the dirty bathroom and the smell of the room. The bathroom was full of mold, so much that the shower head was black, also all the walls and the floor in the shower.I don’t know why, the room smelled nasty since the moment we opened the door and no matter how hard we tried, the smell stayed and it was awful. In the last night there I skipped a shower just to not touch the dirt.

Location of the hotel is fantastic. There are plenty of food options around. It is just 5 mins walk to Ollie Market street, 10 mins walk to the Cheongjiyeon Waterfall and 20 mins walk to Jeongbang Waterfall. Breakfast wasn't to expectation but it is good enough just to fill our stomach. The hallway smells of cigarettes even though the rooms are non-smoking. Rooms size is great, it has a washer in every room. That's a deal changer for us. Plenty of carpark lots too.

Breakfast is nothing to shout about. Had breakfast there once and we said we'll eat else where instead. Variety is limited, coffee is not even available, only milk and juice from dispensing machine.

The room is big and has a lot of potential to become more comfortable and cousy. It could also have a microwave.

We stayed at this hotel primarily for its location and were surprised by the spaciousness of the room. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the popular Olle market with plenty of restaurants, shops, and local eateries - perfect for exploring the area. The view from the room was lovely, with a nice view of the Saeyeongyo Bridge and the sea. There is also a 7-Eleven conveniently located on the ground floor for quick purchases.The room was exceptionally large, probably one of the biggest we’ve stayed in recently. It came with many amenities including a washing machine, a large fridge, dining table, kitchen area, and a comfy sofa. Drying racks were also provided upon request.The breakfast buffet was good with a decent spread of Korean and Western options.Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and a fantastic location. However, improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and design (especially in the car park and bathroom) would really improve the guest experience.

Free on-site parking was available across 4–5 floors, but the parking lot design was a drawback. The slots were quite narrow, and it was nearly impossible to exit the car if parked next to a larger car. Additionally, the ceilings in the car park had multiple leaks, and water was dripping in several places.The bathroom was functional with good water pressure and basic toiletries. However, the glass doors of the bathroom and toilet lacked locks and weren’t fully opaque - so privacy could be an issue for friends or families with children.Cleanliness was a concern - there were hair strands visible in various parts of the room, which was disappointing.

This was my 3rd stay at this location and I will be back. The rooms are huge and the breakfast buffet is ample. However, be sure to check ALL faucets and drainage before moving into your assigned room. If you find a problem (as I did), ask for another room and check everything again there. In short, plumbing needs more thorough maintenance.

No safe. No glasses provided. No microwave. Broken cupboards and damaged furniture detracted from the apartment. Liked the spaciousness and couch and table and chairs.

Good location as it is near to the famous local market where lots of local foods to try. The room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable.Also, the hotel lobby has provided a microwave oven for us to hear up food, which we found it's very thoughtful of the hotel management that we could heat up our Takeawatly food.The breakfast was decent, too. You have choices of simple Western breakfast or local Korean breakfast with rice.

Nothing to complain.

The hotel is close to the port. It has several floors, from the top floors very good view to the seaport, until the building next to it will be completed. The rooms are very spacious and quiet. You can find everything you need - including washing machine which was great to have. The hotel has a mini-market at bottom floor, where you can buy even stuff for a single washing. Parking has also several floors - it was not a problem to find a spot.

Breakfast seemed to be overpriced - not really any Western options and staff also did not speak English there.

Feels like the main hotel could do with some updating, corridors were stuffy.

Th room and bed were both very spacious and the shower and toilet were separated which was nice

The room had no bowls or cutlery only 2 cups which made it really hard to even eat ramen or snacks at the hotel. They did however have a microwave on the first floor which was convenient

Location is great and the hotel was very comfortable with lots of parking!

There are no rooms suitable for two friends (two single/twin beds) but we upgraded to a large room and all was great :)

Dreadful experience

The property was very run down, and nothing like the standard in the photos. My room stank of bleach. Not being one to fuss I figured the air would clear. It did, only for the bleach smell to be replaced by a foul stink from the toilet that pervaded the space. By now it was night and the hotel was unstaffed (another black mark) so there was no one to seek help from. The smell was so bad I retched. I could not sleep. I left straight away in the morning and had a nasty headache all day. I contacted the hotel’s customer service who refused to listen to my concerns because I had stayed (I had no choice).

The location was nice. And beds were comfortable. Very consistent with bringing new towels.

Microwave was unavailable(turned off) for over half the stay & there was only one in the lobby. No irons available or dryer (didn’t have any). Construction was very loud on floors above me, woke us up in the mornings.
