Hotel Capellán de Getsemaní

Very nice hotel and staff.

Great stay at Capellan! The staff were so friendly, the daily breakfast was excellent, and the location is truly perfect. Some of the city's best restaurants and its best coffee roaster are a 5-minute walk, but you're also close to the port and the old city. Nicely designed hotel with a great little rooftop.

Holiday pricing made this hotel very expensive, but it was excellent!

Loved experiencing a boutique colonial-style hotel outside the walled city. The room was beautiful with thoughtful touches like welcome fruit, and the staff were very responsive, helping with taxis and making me feel welcome.

There was quite a bit of maintenance activity around the shared areas and pool, which was a little distracting, though it seemed temporary.

The inside and outside of the property are beautiful. Loved the room and the breakfast at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. The location is very convenient.

Nothing we didn’t like.

Lovely staff and super comfortable room. The shower is lovely. The breakfast that is included each day is delicious. We also enjoyed the pool. The location is fantastic - can walk to everything yet the hotel is quiet. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was absolutely stunning with lovely staff who do everything they can to help you during your stay. The rooms are spacious and all amenities carefully thought out. The location is fantastic for exploring getesemani and the old town, everything is less than 10 mins walk. The hotel itself is a beautiful oasis in the middle of a busy part of the city where you can escape and relax by the pool or on the rooftop. The 15mins complimentary massages were also a lovely bonus.

The breakfast was great but it would have been nice to have a few more options included with the room cost. Everything else was absolutely fantastic.

Not soundproof and can hear other roomsFront desk is terrible. We asked for early check in, they said check in was at 3 and they couldn't do earlier. Then they didn't get our room ready until 4pm, so we were waiting from 2pm to 4pm to get our room. Tried contacting over messages and over calling and could never get anyone to tell us if we could have early check inAsked front desk to book a taxi to the airport, and they never confirmed so we just booked ourselves.Front desk is just rude and not trying to help. It's a shame because the hotel is beautiful, and the doorman and cleaners are nice, but would not return due to front desk staff

This property was amazing! Centrally located and staff super attentive!! Greasiest was amazing!!! Also, hotel bar one of the best lulo margaritas I’ve ever had!!! Made from scratch! I travel the world! So that’s saying ALOT! Hotel also, coke around to give guest nightly sweets and complimentary water… nice touch!

We loved the attentive staff and the property was so warm.The cleanliness and the kindness of people was truly inspiring. We loved our stay.

Beautiful property and great rooftop pool. The rooms are well appointed and clean. Lush greenery. You really feel like you’re in a tropical beautiful vacation. The staff were all very attentive and helpful, but not intrusive. The location was absolutely perfect, located in the edge of Getsemani and less than 5 mins from the walled city and the port. We walked absolutely everywhere.

Location, room and service

No cold water

There’s so much to like about this hotel. The building is beautiful and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We stayed in a family suite with two levels and two bathrooms. They even had child sized robes waiting for our kids when we arrived. Our room was on the inside of the building so the street noise was reduced. Weather prevented us from taking full advantage of the pool, but we used it twice and enjoyed the rooftop. Breakfast was tasty. Staff were always very helpful and kind.

When it rains they turn off the elevator to the roof. This was not an issue for us as it’s only on the third floor, but anyone with mobility issues might find this very hard. There is glass flooring around the pool area that is extremely slippery when wet. Our kids fell multiple times. The pool area is small and would probably feel very crowded with more than one group using it.

The hotel was beautiful and very well maintained. The rooftop pool and bar was really nice and the cocktails were great and reasonably priced. It’s in a popular area of Getsemaní with lots of great restaurants and bars, but it was still quiet in our room. We would definitely stay there again.

The physical hotel is lovely, and is kept in tip top shape. The pool, while small and shallow, is a great environment and is a perfect way to cool off after the heat and humidity. The location is perfect, just steps away from the walled city but right in the Getsemani neighbourhood. The rooms are as pictured, spacious and impeccable, albeit a little dark due to the small windows. The staff are excellent, speak perfect English, and are willing to help with anything.

The hotel can be quite noisy. There is a roof top restaurant right across from the hotel that has live bands on the weekend. That kept me up until 2 am Saturday night. But I got moved to a more quiet room which was fine on the week days. And it may be my age or culture, but I found the music at the pool to be very loud.

The location, the renovation, the people

I loved this spot. It’s in a great part of Cali. The staff is very welcoming and whenever I requested something they did everything to make it happen. I highly suggest this spot and when I return to Cali will stay here again.

The rooms have minor imperfections that could use an upgrade but overall it’s a beautiful hotel.

The staff met us at the front door and explained everything that we would need to know about the hotel and the surrounding area. The room was great and the staff really attended to any questions we had. Breakfast was delicious and convenient. Location is perfect, everything is walkable. Rey at the front is the man, super helpful and polite from beginning to end.

Hotel is very modern and clean. Facilities were great. Staff was nice however they could speak more English to nonlocal visitors. Loved the rooftop and the drinks were top notch.

There was a constant noise every morning in the first floor due to renovations. Not too pleasant when you're trying to sleep.Room was very disappointing since it had zero day light coming in. Windows were facing to the streets but the size was really small which barely allowed light in the bedroom. We felt we were trapped. Location is not too bad but there is a lot of under construction going on outside the hotel that makes it hard to walk on the sidewalks.

Staff were friendly

I was initially put in a room in the attic without any windows and which had an overpowering smell of cheap air freshner (to disguise damp, dank smell). The next day I was moved to a suite on the ground floor which was an improvement, however, the window and doors opened out on to courtyard so little privacy. Turned out the cheap air freshner smell was prominent throughout the hotel. Roof top pool is very small and the jacuzzi was dirty. Breakfast was mediocre and service very slow.
